plumbers and leaks and fridges
Yesterday we had our water done. We were the only flat in the entire building with hot and cold running water yesterday night. WOOT, go us..who's the daddies!!?
A guy also came to 'mend' our fridge. He put his hand in it, waved it about and said "It's not cold." OMG, give the man a coconut!! 'It's broken," he announces. JESUS, I'm glad he was worth the call out fee!
"Gas leak," he announces...having opened and then shut the door ONCE. Glad he did a full examination then. We had, amazingly, told the agents that it was either a thermostat problem or a gas leak. And we didn't charge a call out fee.
BUT, the upside of this is that we need a 'new' fridge...meaning a second hand one. But it's all relative.
And today our bathroom flooded, then flooded the flat below. bwahahaha. All because some NUMBNUT plumber switched on the old water system by accident...the old water system, which in our flat, because we have hot and cold running water...is just open pipework. Bwahahaha. They came and super-sucked up all the water, dried us up, cleaned us out and all is lovely again.
So all in all, cool.
And...
SEVEN DAYS AND NINE HOURS UNTIL WE LEAVE FOR CANADA!!!!!!!!!
WOOOOT.
I wanted my last job before leaving for hols to be making rocket launchers at work...but I've been told I should be making a stair instead. This makes me less happy. I wanna make the rocket launchers... ::will lobby the boss tomorrow::
