Listens: waves breaking on the beach

yeeep!!

Well, I won just over fifty quid on the pups tonight. Which makes the 'professional' gamblers in our group SICK (as everyone else lost money)

Started the evening well will an allways trio coming in, then won bits and bobs on trios, forecasts etc. Of course, I put a tenner or so back on, but I'm way up on the night. Dog racing is a really good night out. I recommend it.

The only sad thing was the reason we were there - Bob leaving. I'm quite upset he's gone, although I think it'll hit me more now he's actually gone - not sure I can quite believe it yet.

And he's not just leaving work, he's doing a flit. Tomorrow morning he's bunking out of his flat, goin up north, leaving his missus and everything. He did promise to come back and see us though, cos he loves brighton and wants to come back once he's sorted himself out. (He did tell his missus earlier this evening that he was off, and she said she's been waiting for him to go for weeks!)

I gave him a big hug in the middle of his street when we dropped him back.

I think I'll miss him most because a. despite how he acts, he's really clever, you can have a proper chat with Bob. and b. He was the first person at work to treat me like a normal person. He swore in front of me, gave me abuse and took it back off me! Everyone else pussyfooted around me for ages before realising I was human too, I think.
