Listens: election news

These are the days of our lives

Ever do a job and miss out something really obvious and realise and just go 'UUUUHHHHHHHHHNNNGG!!!' and kick yourself?

Yeah, everyone's done it.

My poor addled brain just can't start a job, look ahead, plan everything and then remember what I've planned >.<

Lists, that's the answer. I do write notes all over my bench. (Our benches are huge blackboards, so we just jot straight onto them with chalk.) But I don't remember simple things. And when events start to overtake me...gah.

Today I was making big balconies. So I'm Making the 'u' sections (they go out from the wall and across the front - like this |__| see? The top's the wall it'll be connected to, the bottom is the front of the balcony, looking from above.

Except...Oh noes! It starts escaping out of square! So I stick in the back brace...which I can't show by the power of type. But buggeration! I've forgotten to drill the blow holes for the galv! (Because this is made out of box everything has to have huge holes drilled through to the next section so when it's hot-dipped into the zinc mix the liquid zinc can run through it all and the air can all escape...any pockets and either the thing explodes or the galv doesn't drain and it ways a tonne.)

So I take it all apart again >.<

Yesterday, however, I managed to make myself a bunch of tools for sculpting some polymer clay stuff. The stuff itself is sitting at the post office as we speak...but I'm waiting for someone to come and remove the pigeon nest...so GAH! I can't go and grab it from the Poffice. ::very frustrated::
