trekking, not trek!
for a change.
I'm lying on Jojo's bed/sofa wearing my brand new rucksack! It will shortly be used for Away Mission: Barnsley, then for FedCon and Expo...then CANADA!
It's 65 litres, more pockets and zips than I care to count and it's a woman's rucksack so, as the guy in the shop said 'It's shaped differently to fit your....hips, and the straps are a different design to make it...so they...so...because...it should fit your.....chest...better.
I'm like - "Oh, so they won't squish my tits? Fab!"
I can say though, that lying on my front wearing it is VERY painful.
It's got an ali frame, adjustable back strap height thingy (so I can position the shoulder straps the perfect distance from my waist) and loads of superwicking padding. weehee! I can't wait!
It's a nice understated blue and green with some sort of silvery strapping. Also has compression straps..for when I can't shut it or fit all my stuff in!
Jojo has a big red one...(rucksack!). His is 70 litres, with a detachable 10l daysack. (He wanted us to get matching ones...I refused)
Now we just have to squash everything in that we need!!
I'm determined to pack sensibly..only the essentials. Warm stuff, wet stuff, practical stuff. And two stuffed Alligators. Yeah, well, they always come everywhere with us...yep. >.>
Also got sleeping bags that zip together...although I don't think Jojo and I would ever fit in a zipped together set! But they're only for emergencies etc, really.
I'm very excited!
