wow, sunset.
Today was a good day.
Jojo clambered out of my bed at around 3am this morning for work :( which wasn't so good. Then I got up just after 6, and felt rather...awake?
So toddled off to work, started sorting some of the ballustrade panels for my current job. Just before 9am went to see a job in Hove - the job I'm currently making for. Measured up some feet, although as the old metalwork there is so poo we're going to have to use pads lots, and feet on the corners. Hmmm. The stuff there at the moment is awful, rotten through. Wasn't exactly happy doing 'leaps of faith' whilst measuring (leaning out so far you have to grab onto the stuff you're measuring so you don't fall...and then finding out it's only held up by about 5mm of steel...and there's a 5 floor drop below you :))
Anyway, it'll all be okay.
Then went to another job in Rottingdean, two huge spiral stairs - steel poles and treads, all filled with concrete. Both poles are drilled wrong in different ways...and the second pole isn't perpendicular. Ooops. Anyway, got lots of fun staring back at the builders who were trying to work out why on earth there was a hard-hat sitting on top of a *woman* on their building site. I get the feeling I'm a distraction!
Left my keys at work ::DOH:: so borrowed Smec's, which meant I walked home along the seafront...and saw the most fabulous sunset. Beautiful red sun dropping into the haze. All pastel colours. And right over the derelict pier, so could see thousands of starlings flocking over the pier ready to roost for the night. A simply fantastic sight. I wish i could share better.
Got the news that our new windows/kitchen door are all being fitted tomorrow! Eek! So much tidying and dust-sheeting must be done tonight! ::surveys bombsite of room:: Hmm...
Got my Ent Fic-A-Thon assignment!! Am quite optimistic, nice and open and things I like, so,,yeah, should be good!
May cause major picture spammage later, as have found my old slides and took some photos of last night's sunset, which wasn't as good as tonights, but still purty.
