It’s finally snowing. I have a glass of triple chocolate milk stout (Flying Monkey’s Chocolate Manifesto - 10%, yum!) and am watching it drift slowly down from the front porch, after a walk outside to enjoy it. My heart is happy!

I used to always make these hearts in the snow on my walk in to werk.

There’s a pan of lamb and spinach curry + Indian spiced okra on the stove, ready for dinner.

I’ll take another walk this evening to enjoy the glow of the Christmas lights that are still up - I’m glad we haven’t taken ours down yet, now that we finally have snow!

Whenever I see this vehicle, my first thought is always hiking boot.

As you can see, it’s been absolutely grey here for days on end. I don’t mind the grey, but the wet ground is undesirable. I miss winter. Proper winter, with snow, and ice, and frozen, solid ground. What is this bullshit Vancouver weather?!?

Another omen! Which begs the question: why aren’t people putting away thier Hallowe’en decor?

I was up and at werk at 6am today... I was wide awake, and there was shit to be done, so I figured why the hell not? This is a big deal for me! Usually I'd lounge in bed until 7am or so.

By 9am, I had done quarter of my werk-day's tasks, and had walked 5km on a new-to-me-walking trail that follows a small creek. My body was starting to flag at 4.4km, but I stabilized my core, and finished strong.

I'll wrap werk early today bc of my early start. I'm also defrosting our downstairs freezer, which has had a thick build-up of ice in it for the past year bc the door wasn't completely shut one time. Oops.

Anyways - I'm tired, time for a lunchtime nap.

My friend Artemis has ‘Tales From The Outside’ and Topo has ‘Seen Along The Way’ - collections of the fun and confusing things they capture while out and about, which I always enjoy. I was thinking that I need something like that, but the reality is that I already do… ‘Random Beauty’ has always been the name of the album I use for cataloguing such images since the mid 90’s when I first got into sharing images online over various so local media-esque platforms.

I’ve been negligent about adding to it, and I need to get these photos off my phone, so expect backdated uploads of Random Beauty images coming your way…

An Open Letter Re: My Journal, My Choices

Since someone I enjoyed interacting with here has decided to take my previous post where I stated that I choose not to wear crosses, overt pentacles, or other religious symbols when I am not a part of those faiths as a personal insult, I figure I may as well do what I never thought I would need to do, and post a disclaimer here:

What I write about here on *my* LJ relates to *my* choices and perspectives. I don't give a rat's ass what others choose or do tbh, so long as they are kind. I never direct any of my personal choices on others, and am not sure why anyone would ever onboard my choices as perceived insults. Frankly, I find the whole idea laughable, but am also sorry that anyone would ever end a friendship over it.

For the record, I accept that what *you* write about in *your* LJ reflects *your* personal choices and perspectives. We can most certainly have differences of opinion. Unless you point any of that conversation directly at me by tagging me to the post, I am never going to take it as an personal affront that involves *my* choices. That's just how it works here.

I can honestly say I've never been in a battle with anyone on LJ, and don't intend to start now.

If there is ever a misunderstanding, I have found that open communication clears things right up.

Now go about being your badass selves. :-)

This dry spell can go fuck itself.

It was still in the “feels like” 38C territory at 8pm, which meant no barn time. I consoled myself with repairing my air mattress, the hose on my horse vacuum, and installing washers to stabilize the twig door pulls on our front porch closet, so I at least felt like I’d been productive and accomplished something.

We’re struggling to keep all of our flora friends hydrated. The horse’s hooves are like dry desert rocks.

We really need some rain.

Not Your Usual Friendzy... A Matchmaking Friendzy!

This friendzy is open to everyone I am connected to. The goal is to do a bit of matchmaking. Making friends thru friends always works well IRL, so why not try that here?

In an effort to prioritize that stuff that really matters to me (which is to say, my current gig is sucking the life right out of me and I am trying to battle against that!) here is my review of the Marshmallow Marseille on my much neglected blog.
