Ebenezer Honey

About Ebenezer Honey

Hey there—we’re Ryan and Maureen, and we’re the ones tending the hives (and all the rest) behind Ebenezer Honey.

This journey began in our backyard after a season that changed us. When Ryan was diagnosed with cancer, everything slowed down. We learned to pay attention to what mattered most, to give thanks for the ordinary gifts we often overlook, and to notice the quiet grace of God in the middle of it all. After recovery and remission, we signed up for a beekeeping class almost on a whim. What started as simple curiosity soon became part of our healing. Caring for the bees gave us something steady to nurture and reminded us that some of the best things in life grow slowly.

Today, our bees live on a couple of local properties here in South Central Pennsylvania, including Carwood Farms, where they’re part of caring for the land through pollination. We harvest raw, local honey and create a handful of simple goods made with the same care and intention.

We’re also pastors, and while ministry and beekeeping might seem worlds apart, they’ve taught us the same lesson: stewardship matters. Whether we’re caring for people or caring for bees, we’re simply trying to tend what’s been entrusted to us with faithfulness, gratitude, and open hands.

We hope that what you find here is more than good honey. We hope it’s a gentle reminder to slow down, gather around the table, savor what’s been given, and notice the sweetness that’s often hiding in the ordinary.

We’re so glad you stopped by.

Why Ebenezer?

“Thus far the Lord has helped us.” —1 Samuel 7:12

We chose the name Ebenezer because it reminds us to remember. After walking through a season of illness and healing, we wanted our business to bear witness to God’s faithfulness. Every jar of honey is a small reminder to pause, give thanks, and remember that even in ordinary life, God has been with us every step of the way.
