Hey everyone, what's up!

I guess I've been kind of AWOL lately. Lots of things goin' down since I last showed my face 'round here. S'been kind of...rough the past couple weeks, with my grandmother passing away.

But on the good side of things, and I know it'll make me sound like a dork and I really don't care, the whole experience brought me closer with my own family, especially my mom.

I've been doin' nothin' but getting ready for baseball. I had to cut out a lot of promotional things, and time spent with friends, but I feel it will be worth it. After last year, I have pretty much no right to slack off for even a second. I'm a Mets fan too, and I try to look at it from a fan's point of view, how I should carry myself. And I know with last year's debacle, I wouldn't want my starting third baseman to think he can just coast.

Of course, I did take the time out for a few special visits, as noted. And speaking of, Kiara, you in Florida for ST at all? Make sure you stop by St. Lucie. I'd love to take my two favorite girls down to the beach. Maybe after a little bumper bowling and pizza? :D

That was proably one of my favorite weekends ever. :)

Wanna know something? Yeah, I was definitely hoping like heck that the Gmen would win but did I 100 percent think they could? Maybe not.

And I'm pretty sure I watched the entire drive at the end of the first half between my fingers. I think after they managed to tie it up, I got this gut feeling that they'd do it. And hey, blitzing! WHAT A CONCEPT! Good to see they figured out what it was.

I will say I find it interesting how upset T.O. was over Tony Romo, given that he has such good relationships with his QBs. :P

Oh did I mention that Saturday wasn't bad either? Because the Pats won, and that made Kiara happy. Yeah. We spent this weekend together too. You get interesting looks when you're out together and one of you is wearing a Brady jersey and the other of you is wearing a Tiki Barber jersey.

And speaking of weekends, I'm going to go visit her in Worcester this weekend, so she doesn't have to keep taking Ella back and forth, it's only fair. I can't wait. :) It's like I don't want the offseason to end when we're together, and that's saying something.

Greetings from San Fran!

Unlike Saturday night, in Houston, there was no giant wedding cake randomly waiting for me in my hotel room! Which is kinda sad, that cake ~~tasted~~ looked pretty delicious!

Anyway. I think that's it for now, I can't wait to watch the Derby this year! I'm more excited than last year, last year I just didn't want to embarrass myself. Now I can just cut loose and have a good time. :)

Hey everyone! Let's see how much I can get done in 20 minutes. Account of my Thanksgiving weekend starting on

So Thursday I wake up bout a half hour into the Macy's Day parade and get ready quick as I can to watch it. Ain't like it used to be, but it doesnt feel like Thankgiving unless I watch that thing.

Thanksgiving dinner? I wait an entire 365 days for it, so it better be worth it. And it was! There were tons of things there, I can't even begin to remember. But some of my favorites (complete with rating system here) were:

sweet potato rolls with pumpkin spice spread :9 :9 :9 :9
That's right, four out of four! They were just supposed to be an appetizery thing. Y'know, rolls, duh. But I'm pretty sure I'm still heatin' up the leftovers for breakfast, for snacks. Mmmm.

chedder garlic mashed potatos: :9 :9
Pretty good but only 2 out of four for the fact that they were LUMPY! Eurrrgh that's gross, they shouldn't call mashed potatos "mashed potatos" unless they are, in fact, FULLY MASHED :(

buttered green beans with almonds: :9 :9 :9 :9
I HELPED MAKE THEM :D

Yum is all I can say. They were just really really really cinnamony, but other than that, mmmmmm.

Course there was the typical, turkey with gravy and stuffing and carrots. I can't wait till next year. Wish I could host it but there ain't enough room at my apartment for everyone plus a giant meal.

Okay now I'm hungry :(

Friday was pretty lazy. I went to work out, to the batting cages for a while before lunch with Zimmerman but other than that, not much happened.
I got to give Homer a BATH, he was so excited. I don't have a bathtub, just a shower, at my apartment, so he doesn't get to have them unless he's here, in Virginia. Or sometimes the people at my foundation look after him when I'm on roadtrips, and give him one then. But he likes it best when I give them to him, he gets tons of fun bath toys. :)
Caught some of the college football games. Speakin' of college football, that's three years and countin' that we own the Commonwealth Cup. I think that's 8-3 all time or somethin', I heard. They should just by default keep it at Tech and then if UofVa somehow miraculously ever wins, they're allowed to come look at it whenever they want. Yeah, that's right.

Okay that's all I got time for. I'll probably account for everythin' soon, after I get back to NY. Maybe not. Whatever.

In other news, I actually know what I'm gonna buy for each of my family for Christmas. Wow. Now I gotta actually do the hard part, the shopping. :\

I think everyone will agree when I say that sweeping is not only nice because you get to rest your body, but you get to clear your head as well. You get to focus more the upcoming series instead of still being on this high, this thrill inside your mind.
This series was so tough. Sweeps don't mean anything sometimes, just that sometimes you had a stroke of luck and momentum and the baseball gods on your side. Look at last years' World Series. Not that the White Sox weren't the better team, but you look at it, 4-0, and that doesn't tell you how long and grueling and not-completely-one-sided the games were, you know?

I don't know, I'm babbling. I should shut up before I sort of offend anybody.

I'm glad I get to kick back and watch some Skins and Giants today. Back to practicing, working out, tomorrow. But today, just me and the pooch and some leftover dessert from dinner a few nights ago. Mmm tiramisu. :9

Okay, I lie, I'll find some of the guys and do somethin' tonight, watch Cards/Pads with 'em. I just...ah, I have so much pent-up restlessness that I can't imagine bein' by myself for too long.

I fell asleep a lot earlier than I thought I would. Like, at 10:00-ish. I got way tired all of a sudden, then next thing I know, I wake up on my couch and it's quarter after 2. So I've been up kinda just picking up around the place and packing for LA, flipping through the ESPN channels, catching up on some TiVo. Y'know. I don't really feel like I needa sleep anymore than this, I actually feel rested. I was gonna go out for dinner tonight, to watch the Yanks game, but the rain kinda put a damper on that.

Would you believe for every at-bat I had today, I had at least five messages left on my cell? And nearly all of them were from my parents and brothers. Of course my brothers have to be all stupid like, "I can't believe you only went 2-4!", etc. :P

Getting a plane named after me was so neat. It's weird, sometimes you step outside yourself and think, "Me?"
It almost overwhelms you if you let it.

All this energy I've had from the playoffs, there's nothin' like it. It's kinda like the feeling you have when you pull an all-nighter before a big test at school. Except magnified by ten. At least for me.

Have you ever had something really really really good happen in your life but were afraid to tell anyone? Sometimes I feel like that.

Oh! My Foundation is holding its' second annual "Do the Wright Thing!" even on December 2nd. I'm so excited for it. Last year was awesome, great way to kick it off, but I think this year will be even better. It's kinda themed, too. Rock 'n Roll! :)
I can't wait. Hopefully I'll have an awesome accessory on my finger to go along with my bad-ass Rock 'n Roll outfit. :)

Okay.

I shouldn't feel like it is my fault, because it's not, but last year when Beltran and Cammy collided, I kept thinking how terrible it would feel to be the one who hit the ball. And now I feel so sick to my stomach. The worst part is, is that there was absolutely nothing I could have done to control it. I just feel so anxious, can't sit still. I talked to Zim after the game, see if there's any update on Johnson, and Kearns. I can't shake it. I wish them all the best, send all my thoughts to them, the team. I'm so so so sorry this had to happen. :( :( :( :(

Gosh, y'all, I can't even find the words to talk about anything else. :\

And in other news, my other mistress, college football is BACK! Tech at UNC this weekend, obviously no contest there. Part of me is almost glad I ended up gettin' drafted and didn't go to GA Tech. I don't know if I woulda been able to cheer for them, considerin' we're in the same division as Tech. I was goin' there mostly for baseball, but still. I don't know, it's all over with, but sometimes I still wonder what if, y'know?

Anyway. We don't play no one good till Clemson. 'Course we play UVA the end of November, right 'round Thanksgiving, so I guess I'll have to invite Zim over so I can laugh at him when Tech beats down the Cavs. Aw I miss doin' that.

Happy first of August, everybody!

I'm...we're...in Florida. Um. Yeah, okay, wow, I just had an awesome breakfast. And I don't mean that the food was all that good. It wasn't, I only had a bowl of Froot Loops anyway. I mean the time I had. Wow, yeah, I'm probably a lot more giddy than I should be this time of morning. But I'll take that over laying around in bed wondering if I should risk venturing outside in this heat.

No I will not talk about the trade deadline and the deals we made. I can't without getting worked up one way or the other, so the best thing is to say that I know we're good enough to win, regardless.
I just feel bad for Nady, having to go to Pittsburgh of all places. I misssssssss him. :( :( :(

I saw him in the hall yesterday with his suitcase early yesterday, way before we were supposed to leave for the airport and I was like, "Where ya going?" like just askin' if he was gonna do some errands or whatever and he said, "Pittsburgh" and I was like, "....:("

Maybe it's just the dog days of summer getting to me, but, like j_papelbon, I too will probably put !David on hiatus, at least his LJ, through August. It's sort of exhausting and frustrating having to keep up with the Mets, to see how they're doing, when they're this far on top of the division and in turn my team is playing like shit and going nowhere yet again. Plus, the only storyline !David's really involved in, he can't really write too much about, as it's something kept under lock and key between him and a few choice people. And I can't deal with any other drama because drama + !David = my head explodes.
You can always talk to !David on AIM, DWright501. Or maybe he'll talk to you first, you know how he is. You can use him in storylines, but please ask first if he and your person haven't talked or RPed whatever it is you want to use him for.

Ah, so I'm a little tired. I tried to go to sleep soon as the night was over but that's kinda hard to do when your three little brothers are so WIRED.

I don't think I could've asked for a better night. Well, maybe if I'da won, but it's kind of hard against Ryan Howard. I was just hopin' I could get enough to get to the Finals and then maybe Ryan or whoever would've been more tired than me.

I'm just really blown away with everything that's been goin' on. That's about all I can say. So much has been happening, so fast and it's just amazing. I can't imagine ever not wanting to participate in All-Star Weekend, should I ever be lucky enough to be voted in again. Not that everybody should feel that way, I don't know. But this is seriously one of the purest highs I've been on.

I really hope we get the win tonight. That's all. I really can't put anything into words right now.

Goooood morning everyone!!

It's a wonderful day for baseball. I'm so EXCITED to play the Yanks, 'specially at Shea. Seriously, I've been looking forward to the Subway Series more than anything else this season. It's great to finally be back in NY too, to see my puppy and be in my apartment.

I got a package in the mail too. It was from my mom. I guess when she was cleaning she found a box of all these Matt Christopher books, and Matt and Steve say they don't want them, so she sent some of them to me. I was looking through them all and I ended up staying up all night reading The Kid Who Only Hit Homers. Good times, y'all, good times.
When I was a kid, every night, either Mom or Dad would read us a chapter from a book before we went to bed. By we, I mean it was usually me and Steve. Heh, they did that even when I was really young too. I didn't have as big a book collection. Just some Bearenstein Bear books. But they'd read it so often I'd practically have it memorized. Sometimes they'd be so tired, they'd end up skipping a word and I'd be like, "NO NO, YOU MISSED THIS PART!" and I was only 3 or 4, I think.

So guess what else? Yes, that's right, I'm having a GOLF TOURNAMENT! :D
June 1st, I can't wait! My foundation is doing this for charity, but it doesn't feel like that, you know? Like I'm just gonna be out golfin' and all for a good cause. :) Man, I haven't been golfing in a few weeks, this is tragic. I'll need to work on my putting. Who's down for some mini-golf, haha.

OH, and I watched the Series Finale of That 70's Show, even though I really haven't seen that many episodes the past few seasons, I thought the finale was perfect. Really, I'm glad that it kept true to it's name, and there was not one second of the 80's. I'm glad that Kelso came back, and I'm glad that it wasn't treated like a finale, where you have complete resolution. Like, Eric came back to see Donna and you don't know if they're really gonna get back together, or what, but I'm glad they at least made up, because Eric's stupid if he didn't make up with Donna. Ow ow! ;) But at least it wasn't all sappy and stuff cuz that would've been dumb, I would've hated for the last shot of them to be all...y'know, out of character, I guess.

Yeah, I'm done. And so are my Pop-tarts, mmmm, S'MORES! :D

I would say that that was the worst I've ever played.

But heck, I wouldn't even call that playing.

I gotta finish packing, we got a hell of a road trip comin' up. At least Homer doesn't judge when I have a disaster of a game. Win or lose, he comes traipsing over to me with a squeaky toy in his mouth. So that makes me feel better. Sucks that I gotta leave him for so long, take him to the kennel. Oh well.

On the bright side, I get to see Cammy again in San Diego. And Piazza too. Can't wait till the end of the road trip, in Atlanta. I want some frickin' vindication.

What the hell ever. I'm pissed. Just. Argh.

Well well well, WE KICKED OFF THE METS '06 CARAVAN! And I got to do lots of cool stuff like go to the ESPN Zone and ring the NYSE bell, and visit some kiddos at a school. It was so fun!!!
