\nData sources are the
\nbuilding blocks that you use to set up an enterprise configuration. Data
\nsources define all the databases and logic machines configuration. Each
\ndatabase and machine must be defined as a data source to recognize it.<\/span><\/div>\n

\nThere are two types of data
\nsources:<\/span><\/div>\n
\nDatabase data sources<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
\nA database is a grouping of
\ntables in a database management system. You must identify databases to the
\napplications that access them. You can distribute databases across a network
\nand involve various servers and database management systems. A database data
\nsource identifies the database information that the software needs to connect
\nto a database.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n Logic machine data sources<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
\nA logic machine is the
\nmachine on which batch applications and master business functions run. You must
\nidentify logic machines using a data source definition. The data source
\ndefinition must include the network information about the machine. When mapping
\nlogic objects for distributed processing, the software uses the machine data source
\n(distributed processing data source) as the target location for processing
