Rural Development Solutions Limited is a leading provider of off-grid power and energy solutions throughout the rural areas of Kenya.<\/p>\n
We seek to invite applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of off-grid power engineer to be based in Eldoret (90%)\/Nairobi (10%).<\/p>\n
The position will entail extensive travel and will be on a project-to-project basis for an initial 1 year renewable contract.<\/p>\n
The job description of the off-grid power engineer will be as follows:
\n\u2022 Responsible for project records, documentation acceptance to customers
\n\u2022 Preparation of technical proposal reports and to establish document controls
\n\u2022 Designing of off-grid power solutions and other power systems including preparation of drawing and specifications, bills of quantities etc
\n\u2022 Ensuring correct standards are maintained in the designs and implementation of projects mainly in off-grid and general earthworks
\n\u2022 Supervise construction of off-grid installation projects undertaken directly or by contract
\n\u2022 Planning, directing, controlling operation and maintenance of off-grid installation works in the areas of operation
\n\u2022 Training of technical support staff and other officers working in the various project teams
\n\u2022 Evaluation of sub-contractor performance<\/p>\n
\u2022 Must be in possession of either a Bachelor of Science degree or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with Electrical Power Option or its equivalent from a recognized university
\n\u2022 Have at least three years\u2019 experience and professional competence in planning and design of off-grid power projects
\n\u2022 Familiarity with appropriate engineering and mapping software will be an added advantage
\n\u2022 Acute analytical skills as well as ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
\n\u2022 Be in possession of a clean driving license (Class B desirable)<\/p>\n
