The American Center for International Labor Solidarity (Solidarity Center), an International NGO focused on labor and worker rights issues, is seeking for a Program Coordinator.<\/p>\n
The Program Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Country Program Director (CPD). The Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development, writing and implementation of all Solidarity Center programming within East Africa.<\/p>\n
S\/he must be thoroughly conversant with all aspects of program activities and current events relevant to the on-going political, economic and social developments in the region.<\/p>\n
The program Coordinator will be based in Nairobi but must be able to travel frequently within Kenya and East Africa.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 The Program Coordinator must have a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science, international relations, labor relations, or related fields and\/or at least five (5) years equivalent work experience.
\n\u2022 Must have extensive knowledge and understanding of the main trade union issues in East Africa Region.
\n\u2022 Previous experience with an international NGO or trade union is desired.
\n\u2022 S\/he must have strong management and leadership skills and be capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
\n\u2022 Excellent communication and writing skills in English and verbal skills in Kiswahili are required. Fluency in French is desirable.
\n\u2022 Computer literacy for word processing and simple Excel spreadsheets is a must.
\n\u2022 Proven ability to work well within a team as well as independently is also important.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Build strong relationships with the trade union partners in the region.
\n\u2022 Write, develop and conduct training on worker and union-focused issues.
\n\u2022 Assist in the implementation and facilitation of training programs.
\n\u2022 Provide advice and guidance to the CPD for the development and implementation of the programs.
\n\u2022 Produce well-written program reports and evaluations.
\n\u2022 Conduct research and data collection.
\n\u2022 Assist in the budget preparation for training activities, managing of project expenditures, financial reporting and budget tracking.
\n\u2022 Coordinate with headquarters office in Washington and other field offices within Africa as needed.
\n\u2022 Must have the experience and presence necessary to represent accurately and effectively the policies and programs of the organization in public fora and in private meetings with national and international, public and private donors and partner organizations.<\/p>\n
