{"id":17167,"date":"2011-03-21T02:36:00","date_gmt":"2011-03-21T01:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dutable.com\/2011\/03\/21\/undp-training-manual-development-exper\/"},"modified":"2026-06-02T14:42:39","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T13:42:39","slug":"undp-training-manual-development-exper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dutable.com\/undp-training-manual-development-exper\/","title":{"rendered":"UNDP Training Manual Development Expert (TMDE) Job Vacancy in Kenya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Title: Training Manual Development Expert (TMDE)<br \/>\nType of Contract: Individual Contract ( IC)<br \/>\nDuration: 15 days<br \/>\nDuty Station: Nairobi, Kenya<\/p>\n<p>Organizational Context<br \/>\nThe Overall mandate of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) is to provide leadership, operational support and oversight of the security management system to enable the safest and most efficient conduct of the programs and activities of the United Nations System.<\/p>\n<p>The Critical Incident Stress Management Unit-Somalia works to provide psychological support to UN staff members working in the field. One of the objectives of the unit is to establish Critical Incident Intervention Cells (CISCs) and this is done by training of peer helpers.<\/p>\n<p>The peer helper programme has been developed to provide UN staff with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills on stress related issues. Peer Helpers (PHs) are trained by UNDSS CISMU counselors in close collaboration with UN agency counselors. They are supervised by UNDSS CISMU field counselors.<\/p>\n<p>The term Peer Helper refers to UN staff members who are trained to provide nonprofessional, collegial assistance to UN staff and their direct dependents. Simply put, peer helpers are \u201ccolleagues helping colleagues.\u201d The PH network, which is developed as a result of the training, has proven to be beneficial to staff, especially during emergencies and when counselors are not immediately available to provide support to staff.<\/p>\n<p>Functions \/ Key Results Expected<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities:<br \/>\nUnder the overall management of Deputy Chief Security Advisor (DCSA) and Under direct supervision of the UN- Stress Counselor Somalia, the TMDE will perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with the objectives and activities in the work plan and other duties as requested by UN Psycho-social Support Office.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the duties and responsibilities of the incumbent are:<br \/>\n\u2022 Propose a draft outline of the content of the Training Manual based on this ToR and the materials developed in the CISMU PHP training manuals<br \/>\n\u2022 Collect the relevant practical examples, cases studies, videos on relevant topics for ease of training<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop a final version of the Training and participant Manual to a standard acceptable CISMU-Somalia Stress counselor<br \/>\n\u2022 If needed update the training material with additional material.<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide relevant tools and instruments to be used by the CISMU trainers for the PHP. Include pre workshop questionnaire reflecting motivation and core competencies to become a Peer Helper, provide evaluation of every module at the end of the day to assess the relevance of content and trained material.<br \/>\n\u2022 The training Manual will be written in an interactive and inspiring way so that it encourages reflection, learning culture, dialogue and inclusion (include discussion questions \/ questionnaires at the end of each module).<\/p>\n<p>Deliverables and time frame<br \/>\n\u2022 The consultant will perform the required duties within a period of up to 15 days.<br \/>\n\u2022 Submission of the final version of the \u201eTraining and participant Manual on PHP with integrated feedback and comments from the CISMU-Somalia Stress Counselor.<br \/>\n\u2022 It is expected that the elaboration of a detailed content of the Training &amp; Participant Manual will be done in close cooperation with the CISMU Somalia Stress Counselor.<br \/>\n\u2022 At end product will be two manuals (participant and facilitator) will be written in English.<\/p>\n<p>Monitoring and Progress controls<br \/>\nThe Consultant will work under the overall supervision of the UN Stress Counselor.
