What I’m Doing Now
Welcome to my now page. Think of it as a living update on what I’m doing right now.
Written in April 2026.
Running Iridium Hosting
I’m leading Iridium Hosting, my managed WordPress hosting company built around security, speed, and hands-on support. A lot of my time still goes into helping clients fix hosting issues, optimize performance, and keep their sites protected. I recently wrote about a morning cleanup of a compromised WordPress site, which is a good reminder of what happens when basic maintenance gets neglected. After years in IT, I’m still happiest when I’m solving tough technical problems.
Growing 509Brand
I’m expanding 509Brand, my marketing agency for local service businesses. We’re helping companies improve their online presence, generate leads, and build long-term visibility. It’s been exciting to combine my technical background with practical marketing that moves the needle for real businesses.
WordPress, Always
I’ve been using WordPress since 2007, and I still spend a big part of my week troubleshooting plugins, improving site speed, and making sure clients’ emails land in inboxes. Between hosting, care plans, and emergency fixes, no two weeks look the same.
AI in Real Workflows
One of my favorite recent projects: I used Claude Code to fix a complex, fragile phone system the team had been afraid to touch. Told Claude there was an API and it bypassed the painful manual stuff entirely. That kind of “this used to be a week of dread, now it’s an afternoon” moment is what I think people miss when they argue about whether AI is a fad. I’m continuing to pay close attention to how AI is showing up in everyday workflows for small business owners.
Supporting Local Businesses
A major focus right now is helping small businesses build the technical and marketing foundations they’ve been missing. I think we’re entering a period where small businesses can finally compete again, thanks to AI making it cheaper to build specialized tools and customers getting tired of one-size-fits-all solutions. Whether it’s a new website, a care plan, or ongoing marketing, the goal is simple: make their online presence something they can rely on, not stress over.
Life Outside Work
When I’m not working on client sites or growing my companies, I’m spending time with my family, exploring the Pacific Northwest, or testing new tech tools.
The End!
