[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Roxas - Key of Destiny - Number XIII
Age: appears between 14-15 years of age physically, just shy of 1 year old in actuality
Gender: Male
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days
Timeline: On his way back to the Organization to destroy Kingdom Hearts, BEFORE encountering Riku in the World that Never Was
History: http://kingdomhearts.wikia. com/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts_358/2_ Days - Wiki ( I can write one, but it would be very, very long )
Character Personality:
Roxas is the Nobody of Sora. Due to Sora's short time as a Heartless, Roxas has no memory of "Sora" at all. However, he had been found roaming Twilight Town by Xemnas. Thus he had been given his new name as well as his number. At the start, Roxas really doesn't have much personality. His sentences are broken and he really doesn't seem to have a grasp on the world around him, not that this particular aspect seems to change really at all throughout the game. He really had been kind of like a zombie, as Axel tends to put it.. He doesn't remember much of anything that anyone speaks to him about until Xion makes an appearance for the first time, during Day 7. Due to her appearance and her role, which is later explained in the game, Roxas starts becoming more animated. He remembers names, faces, places, and actually starts to form sentences. This is a vast improvement compared to the long periods of silence.
Eventually Roxas gets a little bit of a personality through these beginning missions and his spending time with Axel. It's not much, but it's a start. He's a little shy, but outgoing enough to start conversations when need be. It's just that he doesn't know much. As a Nobody with no memories of his Other, Roxas lives in a little world of confusion and never ending questions. Even some of the practical knowledge that he should have is robbed of him, as he is without any memories whatsoever. The only ones that he has are the ones that he makes every day. Perhaps that is the core to "who" he is: continuously questioning. It could be matters of the heart or practical knowledge. Roxas is more or less a blank slate, even if he does contain a part of Sora. What makes him is the people around him and that's why Roxas doesn't hesitate to ask questions about some of these things and how they are supposed to work. If Roxas doesn't know it, he doesn't really hesitate to ask. Or at least... He doesn't hesitate to ask Axel. Since Axel should know the answer, right? At least that's how his mind operates: Axel should have all the answers to life. He doesn't know what the purpose of his gathering hearts are. Roxas doesn't know why a heart is so important. There are a lot of things that he doesn't really know and he doesn't really think on.
Which is perhaps why he is a little malleable. Roxas could be pretty easily manipulated, since he doesn't truly know any better at the beginning of the game. He obeys most orders given without putting too much thought into it. Not that he really cares about the missions or really why they are even doing any of this to begin with. His "passion," so to speak, doesn't lie with his job. It's his friends.
This brings up another key point to the person that Roxas has started to become: he's serious about those that matter to him and he isn't faking his concern. Axel and Xion are everything to him and are the primary focus of his actions. He worries only about them, not himself. He fears losing them more than not knowing who he is. They are an intricate part of who he is and how he has started to actually develop as a person. His friends are also his reason for anything he does as well as key points in him started to question if he really is a Nobody at all. He ends up loaning his Keyblade to Xion for a mission at one point in the game and she regains the use of her own after that. He had also, previously, decided to get double the number of Hearts. This only proves the extremes he is willing to go through for the sake of his friends. He would even go so far as to destroy Kingdom Hearts.
Roxas doesn’t really like it when people avoid him or the truth. An example of this is around day 255 and Roxas is starting to really worry about his friends. Xion disappears and Axel starts avoiding Roxas. This really bothers Roxas, as they are everything to him. He doesn't know what's going on and why people are keeping things from him. There might even be a little bit of irritation starting to build from being left in the dark. When he finds out the truth about his connection to Sora and what Xion really is, it forms doubt and confuses him even more. He realizes that he can't trust anyone in the Organization anymore and starts to question his own existence. Everything. He doesn't understand why Axel didn't tell him. Doesn't understand why Axel refuses to tell him who he is. What he is. So Roxas leaves the Organization himself. What he really wants are answers about who he is and why he has a Keyblade.
It just goes to show that there is more behind that laughing face. Roxas, towards the end of his first year, starts to show some backbone. He downright ignored Saix's orders before, especially where it concerns Xion. He also doesn't think much of going behind the Organization's back, though that was more taught to him by Axel and seems to only be where his friends are concerned. He even starts to question why he is there and following them at all or why he has to. That, coupled with the dreams of Sora, slowly turn Roxas into a more edgy person. He's grown tired of being in the dark and tired of all the secrets around him. He's tired of the lies or the evasive answers he does receive, which may be one of the reasons that Roxas begins to distrust or doubt some of the things he has been told, even to the point of practically saying that Axel doesn't really care if Roxas leaves or stays. Roxas wants to know and will do what he thinks he has to in order to get those answers. If that means attacking someone, he will. There is even a point where he is too exasperated with Axel and just walks away. It may be that he becomes a bit cynical upon leaving the Organization to find the answers he seeks.
Funny that he leaves only to have doubts of that. No sooner does he leave the Organization than he wonders just what in the world he's doing. He even wonders if it's the right thing to do...
Really Xion's final farewell is just the last straw and he can't take it any more. Because of it, he's pretty disgusted at his connection with Sora. He's getting tired of hearing about Sora. Sora this. Sora that. What makes Sora so special? One could say that he has formed a bit of a resentment towards his Other. In fact, Roxas carries a strong dislike about Sora towards the end of the game. However, he does have a promise to fulfill to Xion. Though her memory might be fading, he wants to destroy Kingdom Hearts, as he said he would. He needs to destroy the Organization or stop them at least. He is a rather emotional wreck which is pretty ironic considering Nobody's aren't supposed to have hearts at all. To Roxas, keeping this promise is crucial. This has now become his goal.
What Roxas really wants out of this is for all of them, at least his best friends and himself, is to be around. To be together. Roxas doesn't want to lose them and he doesn't want to lose himself.. The kid would love nothing more than to be a trio for the rest of his days, Kingdom Hearts or no. That, as well as his promise, are really the only things that are keeping him from backpedaling. Instead of sitting there, Roxas travels to The World That Never was once again, this time with a goal in mind. He is willing to do whatever it takes, fight whatever comes across his path. Roxas also plans to find Sora and take back Xion.
Roxas also has a bit of a temper. When at the end of his rope, he gets irritated quickly. The only reaction he truly has is to beat whatever is in his way down and beat it down hard.
Character Abilities:
Two Keyblades - Due to Xion, Roxas can hold two keyblades. This actually means that Roxas contains part of Sora's power to use a Keyblade. In other words, he has Sora's strong heart.
Keyblade - It is a weapon that is more or less stored in hammer space. The weapon itself is the only thing that can take out a Heartless and retain the stolen heart inside. The Keyblade can also unlock ANY lock.
Dark Corridor - He can open the corridors to travel between worlds through a path of darkness.
He also can communicate between Kairi's heart, Namine, and Sora's heart. Though that doesn't really appear until KH2. So it's not really an option at this point. However, He and Xion are connected through Sora, since she contains Sora's memories and Roxas is Sora's Nobody. They do have a strange effect on each other in game canon.
It should be noted that somehow, Nobodies can communicate. In KH 2, one of them had spoken to Roxas. How this actually works is anyone's guess.
Roxas can use magic in Days ( Cure, Fire, Thunder, Blizzard basically ) and has a final limit that seems to give him control over light in general. This can be seen in practice during the bonus boss battle in KH 2 Final Mix.
Character Weaknesses:
As he is in canon, Roxas is very emotionally unstable. There is nothing left for him to hold onto and there is a slow, festering anger and resentment towards all those that have caused his life to go downhill. Roxas doesn't stop to think when he is like this and instead chooses to march forward, no matter what the consequences. This points out several weaknesses. He has a lack of judgment, knowing when he should attack and when he should hang back. There is also recklessness, as he does not plan out his course of action other than go to the Organization and beat down whoever is in his way. It is almost like he has no self preservation and allows his anger to spiral out of control. All of these stem from the fact that he isn't sure what to do, but is certain of what he wants. In that sense, he is headstrong and stubborn once his mind is set on it. In the end, he will not be deterred.
However, he is also so very naive. Roxas can be easily convinced of just about anything someone he trusts says. When someone seems more knowledgeable on the subject, he is going to believe them. Unless it involves his beliefs concerning his friends, it is very easy to manipulate him and he won't actively question. In a sense, he is much like a child when it comes to his mental growth and maturity factor. Even though he can speak and fight, in the ways of the world he is but an infant and it shows. Since he is like this, it only proves that there is yet another flaw, or weakness. Roxas is limited to understanding only what is explained to him. At times he is purely dependent on other people to guide him through life.
Another weakness, perhaps the most crucial, is his friends. Axel and Xion are the world to him. He is highly influenced by both of them and his attitude can more or less become one extreme or another if they are mentioned in conversation. They would be his weak point beyond everything else.
[ SOUL CAMPAIGN SECTION ]
What are the abilities that your character will retain in Soul Campaign?
- Dark Corridors. I can see this ability could potentially work, given the setting and forcing his soul to do the work, but only in places that he knows and has been to before. It's not a necessity, but it would be neat, giving magic is possibly out of the question due to the nature of witches and the students in Shibusen.
- "Event Horizon" which is essentially his final limit in Days. It sends four vertical beams of light in four different directions to deal heavy damage while Roxas zips around on the arena. The reason why this could be applicable to Soul Campaign would be that it could work similar to how Stein and Black*Star use their own soul wavelengths. Naturally, Roxas would have to learn that he can do this and, well, only when he has nothing left to give. Again, it is merely a suggestion.
What are the weaknesses that your character will lose or gain in Soul Campaign?
- Loss of magic. This isn't a great matter to him, only that healing will be slightly different.
- Keyblade missing. Now this might bother Roxas quite a bit. While he is not limited to using a Keyblade ( he has used a stick before ), but the fact that the Oathkeeper, the Keyblade he gained from Xion, is gone will be a bit of a blow to is emotional state.
- Essentially Roxas is going to be astronomically hindered as far as Nobodies go. He's going to be more human and thus more vulnerable. Given the fact that he had been quite strong in the Organization, this is going to disorient him and, perhaps, cause him to go into fits of rage more often. Only time will tell on this point.
- His emotional state is going to be even shakier now, all things considered. Without being able to keep his promise to Xion, without the aid of the Keyblade, and no idea what he is going to do now... Roxas is going to be quite unstable upon his initial arrival. ( oops? )
[ MEISTER ONLY SECTION ]
Why your character should be a Meister:
The first reason is that Roxas is a fighter. He has been more or less trained by the Organization to be a tool. He is not as important as the Keyblade he wields, but he does in fact have an ability they need. Due to that reason, Roxas has been going out on missions constantly and fighting all the way through them in order to obtain Hearts. That being said, Roxas is very skilled in the art of combat. Secondly, the nature of the Keyblade is special and only certain few can actually wield one. Normally, one must be inherited. However, Sora had not inherited the ability to use a Keyblade, but still does. This also stands for Roxas, as somehow he is still able to wield one as a Nobody. A Nobody supposedly does not have a heart and the Keyblade can only be held by those who have a strong heart. There is something special about him, not matter how anyone looks at it. The last reason has to deal with Roxas and his inability to take control of his life. He constantly fights the fact that everyone wants to use him towards the end of the game and yet he still falls victim to DiZ's plans. Roxas has no choice but to accept that his lot in life is to be under the thumb of someone else: the Organization, DiZ, or Sora. However, at the end of the game he attempts to break away from that and Roxas being a meister, or technician, could potentially reflect this instead of being a weapon.
Meister Ability:
Soul Blitz - In KH 2 Final Mix, Roxas as a boss has an ability to shoot little blue balls of light at his opponent.
[ SOUL INFORMATION ]
Soul Description: Rash, Unstable, Reliable, Kind, Uncertain, Cynical
Soul Appearance: http://i52.tinypic.com/ 2i06w52.jpg
Coloration is a variation of blue and green. Blue for Sora and green for Ventus. The color sits on the lower end of the grade for Vanitas, who is the bit of Ventus that is dark ( and personally Roxas tends to lean more towards Vanitas than either Sora or Ven ). There is a keyblade jutting out for obvious reasons ( I just am really bad at drawing ). The chains themselves are corroded, almost breaking in some parts. This serves as several reminders. Roxas, as he is now, has only parts of Sora within him. Some memories, not all of them. It is a chain to symbolize this as well as his very existence as a Nobody and a person who is also unstable.

Wrong, wrong, WRONG! IT'S ALL WRONG!

I CAN'T STAY HERE! I need to go back! I NEED TO GO BACK RIGHT NOW! I don't care what it takes! I can't... I can't - AUGH!
[ crash! bang! and more sounds of Roxas just growling and yelling at nothing but his own room. to no one. to everyone. then... then it quiets down, though he's panting hard, trying to catch his breath and calm his nerves. ]
I don't want to forget... It's all I...

Third Person:
Rain. Rain and darkness. Rain, darkness, and the ever growing population of Heartless happened to be what Roxas was stepping into. The fading lights of Twilight Town were now a thing of the past as he proceeded through the city now plunged into perpetual night. His shoes splashed into a puddle and he drew his hood up to obstruct the view of his angry blue eyes and mop of golden blonde hair. To be fair, he didn't even hear the sound of the water falling from the sky, shedding the tears that he wished he could and very nearly did only a few minutes before. Roxas frowned, hidden by the black coat as he called the two Keyblades to his aid. The Heartless were stirring, but he would not neglect the promise. It was the only thing he had left to go on, words exchanged with a dear friend in his arms. The memories were starting to fade, but Roxas still clung to those last moments he had with her. Just the thought that all of this was happening when all he wanted was for the three of them to just all sit on the clocktower together and have ice cream made his heart, if he had one, ache and his anger grow.
With a spring in his step and his destination predetermined, Roxas dashed forward. With a swing, one of the denizens of darkness fell before his Keyblade. Then another, and another. Part of this was simply taking out his anger and hurt out on them, uncaring that he was probably helping the Organization gather more hearts through this process. Roxas felt anger and guilt. Most of all, what he felt was the frustration of just one more thing being taken from him. His world was shattering, just like she did only a short time ago. Everything was falling apart when now he realized that he just wanted it to go back to the way it was. Why did things have to change? Why did she have to do that? Why was Sora so important? Whatever happened to this thing called friendship that she, Axel, and himself were supposed to be sharing?
Well he would fix it. Roxas came to a stop before one of the skyscrapers. Yes, he would fix it all. The Nobody would keep his promise and stop the Organization. That was what she wanted, right? He didn't remember name and her face was already becoming a little blur in his mind's eye. He glanced in the direction of the castle and then back at Kingdom Hearts. First them and then that thing. If both were gone, then that would be sufficient. Then... Then he would track down Sora. If Roxas found Sora then he would be able to bring her back, right?
Roxas at this point was mindlessly cutting down the Heartless that obstructed his path. All of this was second nature by now with every swing of the giant keys he held in his hands. There was a figure on top of one of the buildings. He frowned and threw one of his dual Keyblades at the impostor, racing up the side of the building. His watcher descended down the building as Roxas ascended and they briefly crossed paths....
Then nothing.
It was as if he had fallen asleep and awoke to something completely different. At first, he believed that he was dreaming or having one of the spells he experienced before. This wasn't the World That Never Was. Roxas got to his feet and his eyes darted around wildly. Where was he? The room was dark, red pillars scattered in rows virtually everywhere. Confusion clouded his thoughts at first, for there was no way to ascertain if this was a memory or if this was real. No way would have just fallen under in the middle of something so important! Soon the confusion started to change into anger. Roxas gritted his teeth, throwing his hood away from his face. It was happening all over again. Everything he knew and was comfortable with was being pulled right from under his feet. The only one that never saw it coming every time was Roxas. Thoughts were swimming around in his mind, but mostly it was frustration at being interrupted. He didn't know what was going on yet again and these stunts were already worn so thin. Roxas wasn't able to take this any more. An angry sound tore through his throat as he yelled to no one in particular and everyone at the same time.
"STOP PLAYING AROUND WITH ME!"

[ SOUL INFORMATION ]
Soul Description: Rash, Unstable, Reliable, Kind, Uncertain, Cynical
Soul Appearance: http://i52.tinypic.com/

[ NOTES ]
