'Lizard Lick' is a bit of a misnomer. Originally the town was named 'Liz Ardlick' after the favorite daughter of one of the town fathers; Tobias J. Ardlick. When not singing with his barbershop quartet, Tobias could be found fly fishing in a dry lakebed. To this day nobody knows what he was trying to catch or why. If you do go to modern-day 'Lizard Lick', and I advise against it for reasons of both safety and hygiene, stay away from the dry lakebed.
