Malaria Consortium – Global Charity Website Platform

We have worked with Malaria Consortium for many years, providing ongoing development, support and technical consultancy for one of the world's leading organisations tackling malaria and other communicable diseases. Most recently, we led the redevelopment and relaunch of their network of websites, delivering a modern, scalable digital platform built entirely on Craft CMS that enables teams across the organisation to manage content efficiently whilst supporting fundraising, research dissemination and global outreach activities.

The project involved the migration and consolidation of content from multiple legacy systems into a unified Craft CMS ecosystem. Particular attention was given to creating a flexible and future-proof platform capable of supporting the organisation's evolving requirements, whilst maintaining accessibility, performance and ease of content management for editorial teams located around the world.

As part of the redevelopment, the organisation's extensive blog platform was migrated from WordPress into Craft CMS, providing a more streamlined editorial experience whilst ensuring existing content, search visibility and user journeys were preserved. This migration enabled content creators to manage articles, reports and news updates from a single, integrated platform.

The websites also feature integration with Shorthand, allowing the Malaria Consortium team to publish highly engaging, long-form stories, reports and campaign content. These immersive experiences combine rich media, photography, video and interactive content to help communicate the impact of the organisation's work across multiple countries and programmes.

To support fundraising activities, we developed a bespoke integration between Stripe and CiviCRM, enabling secure online donations to be processed efficiently whilst automatically synchronising donor information with the organisation's CRM systems. This custom solution streamlines administration, improves reporting capabilities and provides a seamless donation experience for supporters.

A comprehensive suite of fully customisable content modules was developed within Craft CMS, allowing editorial teams to build complex page layouts without developer intervention. These reusable components provide the flexibility to create campaign pages, programme information, publications, news content and fundraising initiatives whilst maintaining a consistent visual identity across the network of websites.

The platform is supported by a bespoke hosting environment designed to provide the reliability, security and performance required by an international charity. The hosting infrastructure supports ongoing development workflows, content publishing and operational resilience, ensuring the websites remain available to users across the globe.

To help visitors discover the organisation's extensive library of content, publications and resources, we also implemented advanced multi-faceted search functionality. Users can filter and refine results using multiple criteria, making it easier to access research, reports, programme information and other valuable content across the website network.

The result is a robust, scalable and highly flexible digital platform that supports Malaria Consortium's global mission, combining modern content management, fundraising integrations and powerful search capabilities within a single unified ecosystem.
