I am FINALLY finding some time to draw again! It seems that the blinkie community has rotated a LOT of people out and become pretty secluded (both good and bad), so getting back into the circle to know what's going on might be a little tough. BUT... I do have some free time at night and an itchy tablet that misses being used!

You Are the Stabilizer

You bring stability and security to any group you're in. You are a rock.

You tend to follow norms. You figure why rock the boat unless there's a good reason to?

You value everyone equally, and you treat people fairly. You don't play favorites.

You don't like interpersonal conflict, and you try to make sure everyone is getting along. You are an objective peacemaker.

You Are Self-Sufficient

You work best alone and at your own pace. You have a quiet and low key way about you.

You are thought to be a perfectionist. You have a pretty clear vision of how you want things to go.

You are an innocent and pure person. Ethics matter to you.

People see you as withdrawn, and at times they are right. You are just naturally a bit of a loner.

I'm making a new journal outside of graphics... trying to leave most of the club scene behind so that I can talk candidly without it spreading into more circles.

Anyone still around??

After about two hours of random website name-storming I'm narrowing it down to seven. What sucks is that I know I'm going to want to change it about 6 months into the matter.

I forgot how long it takes to make a single blinkie that isn't just a name stamped onto a 3-frame sparkle box. After making a few for _glitter_ over the past week I've learned the hard way that it's not a good project to start about an hour and a half before class. It did get easier, though; the pixeling elsewhere paid off as far as getting things right the first time around and fixing frozen slides/missing pieces/etc.

As for work... Bones went over fairly well (aside from long hours... 13 on the dot) and our checks arrived a few days ago. They were on par with the CSI pay which was just fantastic, so I've got a little leeway cash to throw at either a new Pullip or maybe toward Sephora.

Makeup: The new MAC lines haven't impressed me. The Hello Kitty stuff is really unimpressive; the colors are typical and clashy. C'mon, an eyeshadow trio with white, teal, and a faded electric pink? They don't go together in really any combo. The lipsticks are faded pinks and the pigments are just blah. The CremeTeam line was promising but everyone and their mom wanted the purple lipstick, which is now sold out (goddamn it). The lipglass and lipplush sets aren't worth getting into as far as I'm concerned; I have opal lipglass and that's really the only one I see myself ever getting.

I did, however, spend a few minutes depotting my shadows and putting them into a 15-eyeshadow pallet. Best investment ever. For $12, it has cleared my makeup bag of all the little eyeshadow pots and the quad cases and put all the colors into one super-thin container. I may get another one, but I won't be able to fill it immediately. I just want to replace all my other brands with MAC so I can bring everything with me and have room to spare. My makeup bag was getting heavy.

I've also gotten into Ben Nye cake foundation after finding a retailer on Ebay, and I have to swear by it. What I got is amazingly pale (almost two pale for me; I couldn't believe it), but go figure since it's theater makeup. It goes on wet and feels so light and smooth afterward; you can't feel it on your face like liquids and it doesn't cause breakouts because it's water-based instead of oil-based. Each cake is $10 and ships pretty fast from the company I found, so I'll definitely be buying again. Even better: they have a hell of an assortment of colors, from skin tones to literal theater-only hues. There's a grayish green for a realistic Frankenstein, a rich gray for black'n'white contouring, and even a light blue that I'll eventually get to match my Corpse Bride costume. This stuff wins. Their eyeshadow is next on my to-do list.

I still haven't decided on a site name. There's been about a 40-minute break between this paragraph and the last because I got distracted, and no results. Nuts.

Valentine's Day is already a bummer; I've been scheduled to work. I'm making up for that today by going out and buying a shit-ton of eyeshadow (if I can find it; Nyx is amazingly hard to find in my county) and a 15-eyeshadow pallette to put them in. Which means that I get to get all dressed up to prance around the MAC cosmetics store in my lab-length business coat, all dark and fancy with my Demonia high heels... oomph. Snob. Lulz.

There's a doll contest going on again and I'm attempting to make it in time, balancing out with biology (I got a C on my test, goddamn it), making blinkies again (amazingly easy now, compared to pixel art in general), the sudden uprise in background jobs for non-union extras (wee!), and trying to fit in the gym at odd hours of the night.

Alright. Admittedly it's been a few weeks since I've hit the gym. But I've been busy or tired from work and school, or just flat out sick. I'll be able to go after this weekend again, I'm sure.

My neck, shoulders, and back are still so sore from the Bones shoot on Wednesday. Headbanging after a no-metal-concert period of 5+ years is just not the brightest idea, no matter what the pay. I was really getting into it at first, up until the point that I could feel my brain ricocheting when I was standing still, and now I'm paying for it. But, but, but! Features, features. You'll definitely see me in at least three scenes of the episode.

CSI'll have at least two decent face shots/features, with James and I walking by in the background during another scene. Watch for two traditional long-haired goths with long, fabulous coats, and that'll be us. :P Or just wait for the scene of us sitting at a diner table popping E tabs while watching Luchador wrestling. Flattering.

That being written, it's time for makeup, then outfit, then shopping. Wee!

My bio class is starting to move pretty fast. I'm getting lost in the cell processes because he zooms through the vocabulary and rushes into the processes, then has us go to lab and recreate chemical reactions with various solutions (one of which has me wearing gloves for each lab visit after having an allergic reaction to something I washed out of a test tube). After class we have a chapter to read about the lecture online and three tests to take on it afterward. There's a class test on Tuesday, and I'm not looking forward to it. We've had 4 classes total and the test is on chapters 1-5. :(

The Lip-Service sale this weekend was awesome as far as finding pieces that were either discontinued or just at a steal. The top I got is unfortunately a size larger than what I wear (it was that or nothing, and I've been looking for that top for a while now) and can't be worn with a bra, so I'm going to have to trade it through the lippy_addicts on my main account for a smaller one. The skirt, though, is amazing.

This is the front.

It is weird to go into a biology class and to be taught by someone less than 5 years older than myself. I guess he's actually more "in the field" than a teacher, but damn, he's young! My lab partner's a bit scary, though. Kind of keeping an eye on that one in case she goes a little nuts and gets both of us in trouble.

I'm thinking about reopening fairy_creations and just letting people request whatever, but I'm not looking forward to the drama of "This one belongs here, that one was never meant to leave my journal," etc. It's strange to see all the communities on a lockdown to where only the makers can post. I reserve the right to hold fantasycharm that way since I have a request page already, but for people requesting blinkies and having to wait until something comes along... gah.

Do people actually prefer the new method? Or is it a bit tight-assed?

subject: New Intro

I went back and deleted a lot of my posts. Reading back reminded me of a lot of the blinkie drama that went on and I want to get back into everything without having people adding me and reading about the sneaks and the liars that we dealt with back then.

Well. A little intro: I'm a goth in Los Angeles that loves to do pixel art. I'm 24, a part-time club promoter and part-time background extra, and I do college on the side. I'm a Pisces with Virgo rising, so I'm less of a head-over-heels-with-my-heart-on-my-sleeve than some of the others. ;) Astrology amuses the hell out of me, but I think that moon phases say just as much about people as the planets do.

What I do: I draw (pixel-wise), design web pages, decorate rooms, play keyboard (here and there, not a pro), game (Guild Wars, Warhammer, a couple free games), attempt to learn makeup tips from youtube and LJ, and spend time with my boyfriend each weekend. I'm happy-go-lucky, easily amused with a pen or mouse in my hand, and always ready to pack up and take a weekend vacation.

I'm a pretty big makeup freak admittedly. I use MAC cosmetics for the majority with other brands here and there and spend about 15-20 minutes getting it ready to go out each day (when I bother). I'd like to learn some hair tricks as well; my hair is past my waist and the only thing I really know to do with it is straighten it with a flat iron. I've spent so many years straightening it that it's practically that way on its own now, but it's long enough to be a hassle now. Ever sat on your own hair and pinned yourself to the seat?

What else... I have 10 Pullip dolls, I have two tattoos, I'm studying to be an embalmer, and H.P. Lovecraft makes my world go round.

There. I'm satisfied with that. :D
