A Rhythm Like You (2/?)
"Damn, this is nice," Reid said, glancing around the main living area, especially the large fireplace with the plasma screen mounted above it, as Luke turned on lights. "Seriously, why did you move out of this place? Your grandmother would have had to forcibly remove me."
"Noah didn't want to live here," Luke said with a sigh as he opened the largest refridgerator that Reid had ever laid his eyes on. Reid nearly gasped at the sight of it.
He shook his head. "Mr. Mayer gave this up? And now you?" Reid deliberately ran his eyes over Luke. "Clearly, the guy is not right in the head. That's my professional opinion."
Luke smiled and handed a bottle of water to Reid. "Sorry...this is all that's in the fridge...did you just give me a compliment, Dr. Oliver?"
"Absolutely not," Reid said, taking the bottle of water from Luke and walking into the living room.
"Want to watch a movie or something?" Luke asked awkwardly.
Reid turned back to Luke and took a long drink. "Is that why we're here?" he asked pointedly.
Luke shook his head. "No. I guess not." He laughed nervously. "You say what's on your mind, don't you?"
"Always." Reid stepped toward Luke and put the bottle down on the coffee table. He then stepped even closer so that their hips were almost touching. Luke brought his hand up to the back of Reid's neck and paused only briefly before pulling his lips against his own.
Reid's hands did not hesitate in finding Luke's body as his mouth opened to accept Luke's warm, soft tongue. Luke tugged on Reid's hair and pulled him toward the stairs. They kissed frantically and deeply, moaning into each other's mouths, their hands finding each other's skin under their shirts.
Reid broke the kiss in order to attack Luke's neck with his mouth, but as he pulled back, he saw tears spilling from Luke's eyes. "Wha? Hey,Mr. Sny....Luke........hey.........what's wrong?" He put his hands on either side of Luke's face and tried to get Luke to look at him.
"No, Dr. Oliver...c'mon, don't stop," Luke said, pressing his mouth against Reid's again, trying to lure Reid's tongue back into his mouth.
Reid held Luke by the back of the neck, massaging him there with his thumb. "Hey, shhhhhh...," Reid said, softly. He kissed Luke gently on his lips and then his cheek and then his forehead. "Hey, relax...I'm sorry..." He kissed Luke's jaw. "I'm so stupid. You just broke up with someone. This is too fast. I'm sorry...I don't know what I was thinking."
Luke brought Reid's lips back to his. "No, Dr. Oliver...I want this." He kissed Reid deeply. He pulled back and kissed his neck, causing Reid to momentarily relax into him. "Please...I need this...I need you to touch me, please, Reid..."
Reid pulled back and thumbed a tear away as it slid down Luke's cheek and then ran his wet thumb along Luke's bottom lip. Reid felt a strange tug in his chest as he looked at Luke; it was almost as strong as the coiling heat that was building low in his abdomen. He wanted Luke. He'd wanted him since two and a half minutes after meeting him. He'd fantasized for months about his mouth and his hands and his skin...and now here he was, begging Reid to touch him.
And so Reid touched him. He wrapped his arms around Luke and pulled him close, feeling Luke's forehead sink against his shoulder and hearing soft sobs reluctantly escape his body. He pulled Luke down onto the couch with him and rubbed reassuring cirlcles on his back and shoulders. He murmurred words of comfort that he didn't even know he had in him against the side of Luke's head and held him tight, his own desire forgotten, replaced by a protective instinct that ached for Luke's relief.
"This is so embarrassing...I'm sorry," Luke pushed off of Reid's chest and tried to pull away, but Reid held him in place. "You can go," Luke said, pushing Reid's hands away. "I'm sorry..."
Reid shook his head silently. He didn't want to go. He hated that he didn't want to go. He brought his hand up to Luke's cheek, and Luke leaned into his touch. Reid pressed his forehead against Luke's. "I'm not going anywhere," he said, meaning it with everything he had.
"He didn't want me," Luke sighed.
"He's an idiot," Reid whispered, kissing Luke's ear. "You're so fucking beautiful." He ran his thumb across Luke's right eyebrow. "How could anyone not want you?"
"I love him."
Reid nodded, not really knowing what to say to that. So, he didn't say anything, closed his eyes, and continued to stroke the side of Luke's neck.
"Come upstairs with me," Luke said softly, almost a whisper.
Reid rubbed his forehead and sighed. "I don't think that's a good idea."
"You don't want me either..."
Reid sat up and glared at Luke. "Okay...you know what? That's not fair. Don't lay a guilt trip on me. You're a fucking mess, Luke. Yes, I could take advantage of that right now...and that would make me an asshole in most people's eyes...but if I don't sleep with you, I'm a jerk for making you feel unwanted? Let's get something straight, Mr. Snyder. I want you. Okay? I've been half hard since the first swing you took on that bat four hours ago. If I was completely honest, I'd tell you that I've hard a hard on for you for months. And believe me, I have no problem fucking for the sake of fucking." Luke stared at Reid, his mouth slightly open. "But I don't think that's what you need right now," Reid continued. "Or maybe it is what you need...but maybe I don't want to be your rebound fuck; have you considered that?"
Reid mentally kicked himself. What the hell? He had a hot, young guy wanting to have sex with him, and he was seriously arguing the point? And when had he ever cared about being someone's rebound fuck? Sex was sex.
"Ya know what? Screw it. C'mon." Reid stood up. "Lead the way." Reid gestured toward the stairs.
Luke stood up and suddenly looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Reid rolled his eyes and brought his hand up to the side of Luke's face. "Jesus......see?" He kissed Luke softly on the lips. "You don't even know what you want."
"I know that I don't want you to leave."
"I'm not leaving," Reid said, his hand still holding the side of Luke's head.
"Noah didn't want to live here," Luke said with a sigh as he opened the largest refridgerator that Reid had ever laid his eyes on. Reid nearly gasped at the sight of it.
