Career & Technical Education

Dear CTE teachers, coordinators, and administrators,

It’s April and time to celebrate Financial Literacy Month! Now that Wisconsin Act 60 requires a half-credit of personal financial literacy (PFL) for high school graduation starting with the class of 2028, the question is, How can you make PFL effective and engaging? Find out how one Wisconsin PFL educator, Alex Schrempf, does it at D.C. Everest Senior High School in the following video:

Dive in and find the resources you need to bring PFL to life for your students. DPI has its own Personal Financial Literacy webpage with a link to several resources on WISELearn aimed at addressing the six strands in the PFL standards:

  • Education and employment
  • Money management
  • Saving and investing
  • Credit and debt
  • Risk management and insurance
  • Financial mindset

Plus, they’ve just come out with Part 2, which showcases the powerful impact of PFL education through the stories of outstanding teachers across the nation! Sign up for NGPF’s free documentary screening and panel discussion on Thursday, April 16.
