Revo looked at his brother expectantly, but Reid didn't seem to be paying any attention to him. He was staring outside the cafe window, a far-off look on his face. Revo wondered if he was thinking about their fight the day after tomorrow. That wasn't any good. They'd gone out to enjoy themselves after all, to forget about the other side of their should-be normal teenager lives. Revo frowned, but then grinned as an idea came to him.

"Hey, brother..."

He reached across the table and tapped the back of his brother's hand to get his attention. With his other hand he scooped up some of his sundae, and then spread the ice cream on the tip of his brother's nose when Reid finally turned to look at him. Revo fell back into his chair, laughing.

Brainstorming - Peter's Arrival

Hi, everyone! Please welcome the latest addition to my crew--Hiver (surname pending, as always.^_^;)~. He's a Souldoll Soulkid Shaun on the NL body (47cm) and in delicious Sandy Brown Skin.

Formerly known as Peter, Ceth named him Hiver, the French word for winter, after finding him broken and nearly dead in the snow. Ceth himself saw to his recovery, and he is now Ceth's (other) best friend/caretaker/personal assistant. Kind of like Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi's Isaka and Asahina minus the sex (but maybe a bit of the gay...*cough*).

Although his legal guardian is the Kyriels' majiordomo, the family treats him like one of their own and has sent him to Paris to study art. He comes home during breaks and when Ceth's father calls for him-- while the videogame company CEO is fine letting his son enjoy his teenage years, he's training Peter in the business so that he can support Ceth when he finally takes over.

He's also related to Joshua, Ceth's (previously) missing twin. Having heard similar stories from him is how he's able to brainstorm rpg plotlines so well with Ceth, but that's a story for another time.=)

Souldoll double box opening~

Whoa. It's been awhile since I've posted here. Well, I wonder if people still even check LJ, haha.^^; Anyway~ here's my new kids, Peter/Hiver and Dubbins', box opening~.

Back in Winter 2011, Souldoll released their first Soulkid Sandy Brown boys. I was instantly smitten by Shaun, but I'd just received my boys and been in the hobby for less than a month--there was no way I was going to order a third doll right away. And besides, it wasn't like he was a limited. A few months after their release however, Souldoll announced that the Sandy Brown was hard to work with and would temporarily be discontinued.""orz

Fast forward to 2013, Summer. Souldoll released Souldoll Sweet Sarri, and my first thought was that she looked so much like my online best friend, Dubs. I wanted to get her right away, but, again, I'd just received Nanashi, my Souldoll Issac...yeeeah, I'm pretty dang Souled.^_^;; Counting Shaun and Sarri, I now have five Souldoll sculpts in total. But, I'm getting ahead of myself.=)

October 2013, Souldoll announced that they would be taking orders for Sandy Brown boys. I wanted to wait for their Xmas event for freebies, but they added a note that they might close the order window prematurely without notice. They didn't, but I'd been waiting for Sandy Brown Shaun's re-release for two years, I wasn't going to take my chances! Well, that and my dad passed away the month before, and I needed something really good for myself...>_<

And then Souldoll's Winter event came in December, and while the freebies weren't as good as previous years, I still really wanted Sarri so I went ahead and got her too. To save on shipping, I requested Souldoll to ship them together and unstrung. It took three months for them to be finished (which is pretty standard Souldoll waiting time and something I've gotten used to) and last March, they finally arrived!! My company was in the middle of moving offices so they picked a terrible time to arrive, but, well, enough rambling. On to the pics~!

Here's the box next to my Soulkid Issac, for reference on how small they managed to reduce the packaging to. Souldoll did an amazing job with my request. The second shot is a pic of Sarri's parts at the top of the box, Shaun's parts packed together at the bottom, and both of their heads were placed in the middle (not pictured 'cause I got a bit excited.^_^;; ). Freebies to the side and papers at the bottom, and another sheet of large bubble wrap on top of everything.^_^

Here are the event gifts I got with Sarri. They're really cute on Trish but I'm not sure if she's keeping them. I also got the full set of optional hands for Souldoll Sweets which you'll see in the next set of pictures...

Have I mentioned that Souldoll packed this package really well? Here's Sarri's body, along with her optional hands. Shaun's body was packed similarly as well.

And finally, here are the two doll heads unpacked.<3 There are more freckles on Shaun's face than I'd expected, but I don't mind it all that much. He's equal parts cute and handsome, while Sarri's adorable even blank.x3

And with everything unwrapped, it was time to string the kids together, right? Wrong. My box opening glee came to a screeching halt when I realized that Souldoll had forgotten their S-hooks. And while I had an extra S-hook from a doll body I'm selling I could use for Sarri, the NL body requires a very specific kind of hook for its feet. Luckily Souldoll agreed to send the items to me, and sent them very quickly. Soon enough, I finally got the new members of my crew assembled!>w<

I made an arrival photostory for Shaun ("Hiver") which I'll place in the next post, but below are a few pics of my Sarri (in temporary wigs and clothes and with a temporary face-up). Her name is Dubbins and she's a mini-me of my online best friend Dubs.>w< The Souldoll Sweet (26cm) is so cute and tiny and poseable, I've been bringing her to work with me everyday and having lots of fun posing her on my table. She's my first tiny and I've got to say, I looove this size. I hope I can add more Yos to my crew someday.^_^

Trish and Ceth

Trish. This is Trish’s current face-up which I did almost a month ago. I never took a decent pic of it until today. Mostly because I don’t have the time to and partly because I don’t like it. I feel like I took a step back or something. She’s not cute and she looks more lifeless than she did when blank. It’s the first time in four face-ups that I’m not happy with her lips and there’s just something (or things) wrong with this face-up. I can’t figure out what though and it’s eating away at my confidence to try again.((T.T； )

Oh, and her wig is a mess.∑(O_O；)I haven’t had much time to play with my kids so I’m seriously wondering how it got so tangled with her just sitting down. 【・_・?】

Ceth. The first daylight pic of Ceth since he got a new wig!>w< He’s so adorable.<333 The headphones he’s wearing are from Crobidoll (for USDs, lol) and are just so perfect for him.>w< I was actually considering getting a new face-up commissioned for him, but this adorable picture convinced me that his current one would do for now. And besides, he needs new clothes. He’s been wearing the same outfit for more than a month now, ‘cause almost nothing else will fit the N.L. body.”orz

Crew make-over!

With the arrival of Nanashi and the Dollmore and Leekeworld GOs, I'm finally able to give my crew the make-over I'd been wanting to since last year~!♥

List of changes:

Josh has moved from the Implkid body(approx. 43cm) back to his Soulkid old double body(45cm), which Ceth had been using after Marie and I decided that he should be the taller one. Joshua's implkid body is incredibly poseable, but he's shorter than Trish on it and that's a deal breaker for me. Hopefully Josh will stick to this one.
Ceth is now sharing the Soulkid NL body (47cm) with Nanashi, and this is the OOC reason we won't be seeing much of the latter.* I'm a little worried about how much taller he is next to Ashe and Hyuna now, but ~~Love knows no height~~ it should be OK.
New wigs for Ceth, Josh and Trish! Ceth's and Trish' are from Leekeworld, and neither of them have taken theirs off again, lol. Joshua's is from Angell-Studio, and feels the most 'right' out of all the wigs he's worn so far. It's one size too big and has really thin fibers though, so he'll still be wearing the Licht one most of the time.
And finally, glasses for Ceth.x3 He just needs headphones now and my frustrated musician/gaming company heir will be complete!♥

So this is what it feels like to be stung by Customs."orz

I had this guy (and another one for my bestie) sent through Registered Airmail, thinking that I'd be able to save myself a few bucks. What happened instead was that it got stuck in Customs for one month and three days, with Air Parcel refusing to forward it to Laguna since it was just RA and and not EMS. When they finally forwarded the package, it came with a whooping Php2.1k bill from Customs. Ack!DX But for two dolls, two outfits and a few other knickknacks, I guess that price isn't all that bad, right? *sigh*

Anyway, between the excitement of finally receiving them and doing my first Skype box opening (it was soooo much fun!), I didn't get to take any box opening pics."orz So here, have an arrival photostory instead~.^_^

So, anyway, please say hi to my newest boy, Nanashi! He's a warrior with a permanent bad hair day, and the picture below is the best I've ever gotten at taming his wig...and never managed to pull off again."orz

He also has a heart of gold, and is Trish's guardian and partner in the Tournament of Dreams. Also known as the Arena, it's a fighting tournament seen favourably by Fortune, daughter of Tyche and goddess of luck. Fighters from all over the world join the tournament hoping that they'd please the goddess and have their dreams come true. Trish is one of its top fighters, and is known in the Arena as its 'Princess'.

Trish's dream is to find her brother (Josh), from whom she was separated several years prior. Nanashi's dream is, well, not even Trish knows. They met during tournament registrations, which required each group to have at least two members. Overconfident, Nanashi took Trish under his wing without realizing that she, too, is capable of protecting him. And has, many times over.

Their group slowly grew bigger through the years and its members are 'the others' Nanashi spoke of. As one of Fortune's favorites, the goddess will look upon them unfavourably and curse them if Trish leaves the tournament. Fortunately, she only has to make appearances during fights, so Trish can stay with Josh the rest of the time.^_^

Nanashi, on the other hand, will have to remain in the Arena to continue watching over their group. So we probably won't be seeing much of him around...

Trish's third face-up

Today I attempted Trish's third face-up!♥ I didn't get to take pictures of her second one."orz

I'm still amazed at how she can pull off 'cute' even with such a messy face-up.>w< This was pretty much the work of a mere two hours 'cause I ran out of MSC. The only sealings I did were the base and the final, and finished parts of the face-up kept getting messy while I worked on other parts since I couldn't seal them."orz I'll definitely try again next week when I've got a fresh can. Meanwhile, let's see if I can pull off that photostory this weekend...

Trish's head box opening

These past few months with Trish had been a mix of adorable and horrid, with one problem after another cropping up for my little girl.=( From a cracked elbow joint to an undrilled nostril, and then, finally, cracks on her face from just replacing her eyes:

Thankfully, Victoria agreed to replace her head after seeing these pictures (not her elbows joints though; I had to buy a new pair for $20). Sometime in early-February I sent her head back through EMS (which they refunded). And today, I finally got her replacement head!\o/

Now, I won't deny I was hoping for a freebie wig or a 'nice apology card'. From DoA's feedback thread, one or both of these items always seem to accompany replacement parts. But this box had neither, and was just crammed full of bubble-wrap:

And right in the middle of this nest was my little girl's head:

Triiiiiiiiiish!>w< She's really such a cutie, even while blank! The resin around her eyes still seem unbearably thin though, and I'm starting to wonder if Soom designs their heads to only hold their silicon eyes.( ._.) I know I won't get a third chance, so I'm really nervous this time.~_~

I'm also scared I won't fall back in love with her. She feels...different, somehow? But I'm hoping a face-up will do it.

Anyway, I'd like to thank everyone who stayed by my side throughout this ordeal. I whined and cried for her a lot, and everyone was so sympathetic and comforting. Thanks a lot, you guys!!♥♥♥

[MM Themes: February: Heartbreak] When Love and Music Died

When Ceth was younger, he really wanted to become a musician. However, he had neither the skills nor the imagination to create beautiful music. Nothing he made was ever 'good enough' and he only got frustrated every time he tried.

When he was eight, he met another boy named Ashe. Ashe's bubbly and excitable personality got the then cynic and far-too-serious Ceth to start enjoying life. In his words, Ashe 'taught him how to love others again'. It was inevitable for him to fall in love with his own best friend.

Although unintentionally, Ashe inspired Ceth to take up music again. He studied hard to make a piece that would adequately express his feelings towards him. Even after Ashe moved out of the city, Ceth continued to work on his song.

He finally finished his piece about a year after they separated. But before he could confess to the other boy, Ashe told him about Althia, a childhood friend and love he'd reunited with in his hometown in Fontaine.

That very same night, Ceth tore up his music sheets. Deciding that what he had was an impossible dream and an impossible love, he gave up both music and the hope that he'd ever have love for himself.

So I know a lot of people are confused by the relationship between Ashe and Ceth, and I hope this clears it up a little.^_^ Ceth currently has a girlfriend, Hyuna, and has long gotten over his heartbreak over Ashe. However, Ashe being his first love and the person who saved him from a life of bitterness, fear and hate, Ceth still tends to be...a little clingy to the other boy. Basically, he loves Hyuna but will probably have a small crush on Ashe forever.^^;

One of my friends said she looks like she's been out in the cold for too long,

I learned a lot from this first face-up though--
like don't panic if the sealant looks too thick, and DON'T douse the head with water trying to get it off! ∑(O_O；)
If humidity causes frosting, you can only imagine what washing the MSC with water did...
It wasn't a pretty sight. (✖╭╮✖)

And after that I just got more and more frustrated.
I didn't put a lot of effort into her eyes at all. (╥_╥)

But seeing her still look so cute despite that, I'm really encouraged! (●´∀｀●)
Today I've had enough of face-ups, but I'm looking forward to trying again! ☆*:.｡. o(≧▽≦)o .｡.:*☆

End of the world box opening (Trish's)

This box opening was done between 6:45pm and 8pm on December 21, 2012-- the rumored end of the world. |D

And it is currently 2:22am, and I am ~~aliiiiive~~ braindead. So please excuse the braingloopiness of this box opening entry...

Trish. A lot of people knew she was coming, but only two MM members knew her sculpt and when I ordered her. It was four months ago. WHEN THE LOT OF YOU ENABLED ME FOR IT:

But since I didn't like her fox-paws and hands, I opened a split thread at DoA that very same night--

--and got takers for the parts pretty quick! We placed the order on 08/27/2012, and finished the 3-part layaway on 10/26/2012.

Knowing Soom's track record for their LEs, I knew the wait was going to be 3 months or longer. This was why I kept telling people that Trish would come late January or early February. Victoria even told me that they'd ship her "at the very beginning of January" when I asked for an estimate. Only a few days after that mail from her though, I got a shipping notice!\o/

And 16 days later (Customs and our postal service both SUCK!), on the day before my birthday and on the feared end of the world, I finally got my girl.♥♥♥

Jan, Jared and Rocky joined us for this box opening! Only Rocky got decent enough pictures though, lol.

Soom Little Gem girl body. Trish is strung so tightly her legs keep on folding-- she can't even sit with her legs straight in front of her, though we were able to get her to stand.

11/13/2012: Cethrel & Joshua.
D. Maillo's icon finally got updated into bjd_icons! Since he was originally a free event head, Souldoll didn't have a separate listing for him and his old icon read "Maillo-Wink". I bought Josh separately after the event (/biiiiitter Kanis) and requested for the icon to be changed. It's been such a long time though so I've forgotten. But I got a message that it's now available, so I immediately made this signature.x3

Josh and Ceth came home together on 11/11/11. My next signature update should be next year with Trish. I can't wait!

11/13/2012: Trish & Nanashi.
It took me awhile to get Trish's wig and a face-up I like, and Nanashi came home in the meantime! He's actually a character I didn't plan to resinize, but I'm really glad to have him. I also got a new wig, a pair of glasses and headphones for Ceth, and he looks so much more like himself now.♥

Next will be either Helios or Shaun--or, hey, maybe both?^_^

11/22/2015: Hiver, Dubbins, Kaoru, Tokiya & Helios
Oh boy. So much for using signatures to keep track of my crew, LOL! More than 3 years have passed since my last one and the twins and Trish have gotten new face-ups. I bought and re-sold 2 fulls dolls and a floating head that never made it to the sig (Malcom/DiM Sergei, Vixen/Ringdoll Wagashi and B&G Sky), and I've removed Nanashi, who I plan on selling soon. Here are the latest additions in order of arrival: Hiver (Souldoll Shaun), Dubbins (Souldoll Sarri), Kaoru (Soom Tuff), Tokiya (Resinsoul Mai) and Helios (Dollzone Mo). Kaoru and Tokiya are both floating heads and Dubbins, Tokiya and Helios are WiPs. Dubbins is a special case not only because she's the only YoSD in my crew, but because she's fashioned after my best friend.♥ So she's not really a part of Project Dollground, but I've included her in the signature all the same.

Josh and Ceth's 1st birthday.x3

It's Josh & Ceth's first birthday! I wanted to buy ice cream and cake to celebrate, but I'm still quarantined at home because of chickenpox.=/ I couldn't muster up the energy for a photoshoot of them either. Ah, I'm such a bad owner. But here's the Doll Changes Meme by onegreyelephant. Marie tagged all of us awhile back in her own answer to the meme. Sorry it took so long, bb, but I wanted them to reach their first birthday first.x3

And here's how each of them changed in the past year, as well as some notes on what I still plan to do with them. Click for bigger view!

...O-kay. Rather than making any progress with Joshua's look, it's more like I kept changing it, huh? The truth is I really love D.Maillo's default look. It's the perfect image of my muse's 'niisan'. And after a year of trying to change that, I think I'm ready to give in and ~~admit my lack of creativity~~ just copy his company pics. He already has the default face-up and I've ordered a similar wig from taobao. His eyes...are supposed to be the default D.Maillo ones but they're not. I asked Souldoll for them specifically but I suppose they forgot, and I didn't really confirm the difference until I saw other D.Maillos.=( They also told me he's normal skin but now I'm positive that the company pics have him in WS. Oh well.

Oh-- the bald and blind Josh is from when Ceth was at Ricci's for a new face-up. Back then he and Josh shared one wig and one pair of eyes, so for a few weeks he was stuck like that. He's also been on three different bodies before his current one, and I very barely talked myself out of buying a fourth.xD;

Now Ceth here, I'm really proud of his transformation.>w< He's loosely based on Irie Shouichi from Katekyo Hitman Reborn and ginger hair and green eyes really suit him well.♥ He's gone through two different face-ups (one by Arvie and another by Ricci), a wig change and a change of eyes. The only stuff I need for him now are his headphones and glasses-- which I've also ordered from taobao so he should be 'complete' pretty soon. ~~And ready for the census. Sorry, Nix!~~

I would have gone home a serious wreck if not for this, so thanks again, Mei! Still, when I woke up this morning to find my boys beside me like they are everyday, I really felt like crying. I feel like such a bad owner.

10 Things About Ceth

Cethrel Jean Kyriel is the eldest son of the CEO of a game development company. He's a genius at game development himself, and works as a part-time writer and tester. His favorite genre is rpg.
His real love is music, but unfortunately he sucks at it. Ceth doesn't believe in 'Practice makes perfect' though, and has resigned himself to never being a good musician. His constant accessories are his glasses and headphones ~~as soon as I buy them.orz~~.
Aside from being kidnapped during a visit to their company's Japanese branch when he was six, Ceth has lived a perfectly normal life.
From when he was six up until he met his best friend Ashe however, Ceth was a withdrawn boy who always looked as if he didn't expect a lot from the people around him. Ashe 'taught him how to love others again' and he considers Ashe as his first love.
Ceth has a girlfriend named Hyuna. She 'taught him how to love himself' and he describes her as his true love. They don't get to see each other often, but he likes to spoil her a lot. Incidentally, Hyuna's twin brother, Hyesu, used to work for the syndicate that kidnapped Ceth. He doesn't like Ceth for his sister at all.
Ceth is bisexual and open about it. He's also a flirt. He knows a lot of 'adult things' for someone his age (16), and confusing Ashe and Jared with sexual innuendos is one of his favorite past-times.
Despite being a flirt however, Ceth is a perfect gentleman-- complete with a kiss to the lady's hand on the first meeting. But he gets upset when girls do unlady-like things like curse, and is not above giving a light reprimand.
Ceth laughs/giggles a lot. It sounds something like this, while his speaking voice sounds like this. (It's Joshua, however, who is named after the character featured in these clips.)
It is very hard to upset Ceth. He's the type of person who lets insults roll off him like water off a duck's back. He hasn't always been this way, but it's also hard for Ceth to not like anyone.
Ceth's favorite line for convincing people to spend for themselves is, "Remember: your happiness is priceless, dear~."

10 Things About Josh

Joshua [Kyriel] is not human. He's a clone created out of Ceth's left eye, to replace Ceth when the other is old enough to take over his family's company. His hair turned black instead of ginger however, and his body developed poorly. After two years, he was considered a failure and moved to a different project.
He has the ability to negate other people's abilities. In this project, two dozen children were injected with all sorts of magic to see how well their bodies would adapt to it. Of the twelve, only two survived-- ESN 10-4 and 10-8, later known as Trish and Josh. But while Trish showed that she can use all of the magic introduced to her body, Josh remained 'normal'. His true ability presented itself when Trish went out of control and killed nearly everyone in the research facility.
He is used to living poorly. After escaping from the research facility, Josh started to live in the streets with the other children. All of them are used to hunger and cold, and wearing worn clothes thrown out by other people. This is why Josh never asks for anything, and will wear anything given to him as long as it's not too bright or flashy.
He is called 'niisan' by all the the other kids. All of the children who escaped from the facility sees him as their leader and big brother, and Ceth thinks of him as his sibling rather than his clone. Josh hates it when Ceth calls him niisan though, as he believes the boy has not suffered anywhere near as much as the facility's children. They argue about it a lot.
He is quiet and standoffish. He only ever gets talkative when it comes to training. Currently, he helps Jared with his fire training (as his 'human fire extinguisher'), and trains under Aahil alongside Hyesu.
He likes skylines and the view from high places. Even though he's the less outgoing of the pair, Josh likes traveling more than Ceth does. He dislikes parties and gatherings though.
He is good at singing and playing the guitar. Well, better than Ceth anyway. We don't know where he picked up the skill and he'll only play when there's good reason to, like to get some peace and quiet.
He tires easily. Very easily. And since he's used to not sleeping in a bed, we often find him drifting off or already asleep in the most uncomfortable of positions.
He likes the occult..??? He was recently interested in hearing Maggie's stories about witches. This might be because of Trish though, who is part-witch.
Unless Ceth tags along, Josh brings bad luck. This ranges from heavy traffic to jellyfish stings. His bag has a Korean mask good-luck talisman that used to work but doesn't anymore.

Body Box Opening III

I've got two headless bodies underneath my bed right now, and have no idea who is getting which.@_@ I bought this MNF body for Helios (DOC Tender Too), but if the proportions don't work out, then I might just give it to Joshua. I really don't want to get his head blushed to match though, and he's a bit of a small-head on the body too. Ah well, we'll see. ~~Doll plans what are they~~.

This body is my first ever 'adoption'. I bought it off the DoA Marketplace from Pinkmaltese1. She originally planned to sell her Luts MNF El (with both heads with face-up) for a hundred dollars, and I e-mailed her that he's worth a lot more. She looked around for his receipt and found out that she bought him for five hundred. She got a lot of offers for him but after raising his price to 350, no one wanted him anymore. I suggested splitting him up since she really needed the money. She found a buyer for his OE head pretty quickly, and I got the body. The SP head is still for sale here.

Anyway, on to the box opening./o/ This is my first ever USPS box, and my first box opening done at home.>w<

The box. It was light, and I knew the body was packed very well since I couldn't hear anything shift inside. At all. But augh. Shipping from the US is insane. This one took 47.95USD out of my wallet to get home."orz

After hacking away at the tapes and wondering how the fuck do I open the box, I finally pulled on the tab that wasn't a tab. Really. It helped me tear through the carton more easily but I wouldn't call it a tab, OK?

Packing peanuts (and halves of the body)! It's my first time to see them IRL and the box was maybe half-full of them. I might attempt to make beanbag chairs out of them or something.

The two halves of the body carefully bubble-wrapped. Pinkmaltese1 said the body needed restringing, so I was expecting to receive it in more pieces.

But both halves are stringed, just not put together. I think the neckpiece is missing a piece?

And finally, Joshua on the MNF body. Resin match is off IRL and the head just looks...weird. The neck is too long too.

I had to pack up right away 'cause I was in the middle of chat with Jan and my family (who generally disapproves of the expenses of the hobby) could walk in on us at any moment. Joshua's head won't sit well on the body (would sanding the neck work?) so I placed him back on the impl one and hid the body underneath my bed. I'm hoping to complete everyone soon.^_^

Ceth's new eyes

Originally, Ceth was going to have green eyes in two shades. The right one was the one he was born with, while the left one was just a transplant. As my resin kids' story goes, Ceth was kidnapped when he was 6, but his father got him back through money and connections. The syndicate had already removed his left eye by then though, to make a clone out of and replace him with once he'd inherited his family's businesses. Joshua (the clone) has one blank, gray eye, but it's actually green underneath all the accumulated magic the syndicate used in their experiments. When he uses his power of 'negation', the magic clears up and Ceth's green eye is revealed.

...Yeah, talk about complicated. Not to mention, Eye Scream. So I ditched the idea and just got him a pair of green eyes, when MakoEyes held their second round of the 2 for 1 event. (Note that they'd actually accept orders for mismatched pairs; I saw someone ask in Q&A.)

He looks so...serious.;_; In the second one not as much, but I had to kneel on the floor and tilt his head up for that. IRL it's even worse. And, as gorgeous as he looks, his aura just lzdjflkdbothers me. I failed to capture it with the cam, but he looks like he's always scheming something. Like he doesn't expect a lot from other people and mistrusts all of them. Which is--haha--ironically what he was like before he met Ashe, but nuuuu. I want my sweet, witty, happy prince of innuendo back please.;_;

Do I just need time to get used to his new eyes? Reposition them? Buy a new wig or get him a new face-up? I don't want to rewrite his character but it's starting to seem like it doesn't fit his mold at all. And how do you make an MSD look cute without making him look like a girl?!"orz

This is a BJD meme moptech found in flickr, and asked the MM folks to do a little over a week ago.^_^

1. From all the dolls you own, who is your favorite? Why?

          Joshua/Yoshiya. My favoritism between him and Ceth is so blatant that even my family has picked up on it, lol. Ceth has gone to visit 4 different MM members' homes now, while Josh will never, ever leave me. He's the doll who got me into this hobby, the single sculpt who has really 'called' out to me (very, very strongly), and the one who keeps me and my main muse centered. I'd hate to come home from a bad day and not have Josh there to hold.~_~

2. Explain how you managed to get into BJD collecting.
          One of my online friends in the US received an RS Yao for her birthday last year. I offered to buy her (the Yao) a wig as my late birthday gift to her (my friend). She picked one from ndoll, who was still a dealer for Souldoll back then. I saw D.Maillo, my muse insisted it was her missing brother...and then Souldoll announced he was being discontinued 4 days later.x_X After a lot of encouragement from my officemates and MM members, I bought him (and Ceth) even though my mother was very much against his price. Still is, actually.

3. Name the very first doll you ever bought.
          Headwise, Joshua, a Souldoll Soulkid D.Maillo. I ordered Ceth (Maillo) about a week later, and he came home together with Josh as a floating head. Ceth now uses the body Josh came with however.

Just look at that picture. That body was meant to be Ceth's.xD;

4. Which doll do you plan to buy next?
          Plan? What plan? Trish, my first (and probably only) MSD girl and my main muse.^_^ (See #12.)

5. Are you currently waiting on any dolls?
          Ahahaha...um. Parts of?^^;

6. How many dolls do you currently have?
          2 full dolls, Joshua and Cethrel Jean Kyriel, and a headless body.@_@

7. Name the very last doll you bought.
          Headwise, Ceth. But Josh was completed later. (Explanation in #3.)

8. What is the worst thing about this hobby?
          The expenses and the scalpers. But we'll never be rid of both so.=/ Also, people who discriminate between companies. I've encountered one such person (anti-BBB) and the conversation made me extremely uncomfortable....

9. What is the best thing about this hobby?
          The dolls of course!♥ My single creative output is writing, so I don't really share the fun most owners have in customizing their resin kids. I do love my boys though, and they're something of an emotional investment for me. As I've mentioned above, Josh keeps me and my muse centered. Ceth, on the other hand, is a very sweet boy who tries to keep me happy-- and healthy. He regularly reminds me not to overexert myself and to get rest when I should.x3

So relaxed~.♥ These two have kept me from tearing my hair out in the office several times now.

10. Which is your best dolly photo?
          I'm not really big on the photography-side of the hobby so I'll have to go with these:

          I took these during their first morning together as two, full dolls. I love the colors and their expressions.

11. Which is your favorite BJD company?
          Souldoll, if only because they gave me Joshua.

12. What dolls are on your wishlist?
          Oh boy...

Trish - RS Mei or Soom MD Sueve - Messenger of Heaven (Sold Out LE). BBB Sprite had been my top choice until recently, but I've come to hate her nose in the past couple of weeks. When I saw Sueve I instantly fell in love with her, and then realized she looked a lot like RS Mei with the above owner pic (by DoA member BaileyRose). RS Mei was my first choice for Trish and now she's back up there on the top of the list.♥

Peter/Hiver - Souldoll Shaun in Sandy Brown Skin or WithDoll Taren "Surfing Boarder". More likely the former than the latter, 'cause Taren is LE and ylden likes him too.xD;

Cierno Angelo "Helios" Arca - Tender Too head on an MNF body? Soulkid body? IDK man but definitely not the childlike DOC body. We were going to place him on the headless Implbody that I have but, lol, SO not going to work out (Implchildren are thiiiin).

And others...

tiny!Trish comes from the fact that I need a tiny in my life, and that I need another girl in my group to balance out the boys but don't have any other female characters. Top choice is Littlefee Elf El on a girl body (I've wanted 'her' even before I decided on a tiny) followed by Fantasydoll Glen/Amber, HDF Epi, and Ddoll Bobo.

Revo and ?>?? - Crobidoll Zion, but only if Jan gets his twin brother from Crobidoll as well.

13. Are there any dolls you wished you had never purchased?
          Sometimes I wonder about Ceth and I've once considered reshelling him into a Bimong Narin43 N411 Butterfly. But I love my not!twins, so that was a no go.

14. Who's your favorite faceup artists?
          I haven't availed of anyone's services so I can't really say. Artists whose awesome work I have seen personally though are Ricci of BlueSand Face-up Shop and POTU of FabulaRasa Aesthetics. Ceth has a BlueSand face-up and I'm planning to commish Anj for Helios'./o/

15. What is a must when considering a dollie purchase?
          The 'calling' or, if you believe such a thing doesn't exist, that he or she fits the character you have in mind. When I learned that D.Maillo was going to be discontinued, I actually sought out 'similar' sculpts. Several MM members told me not to settle, and I'm glad they did. I don't think I could have been as happy with a different sculpt for Joshua. Never settle, but watch your wallet.

Pao's Despedida Meet

One of MM's new(ish) members, Pao, is migrating to Australia this Friday, June 15. MM held a despedida meet just for him last Saturday (June 9) at the Cafe Mary Grace in Greenbelt 2. Afterwards, we had a fun dinner at My Thai. No tears were shed, much laughter had been had, but it was still more than a little sad.=( We'll see you in December, Pao!

Joshua's body box opening

Sometime around the end of January, I received what should have been Joshua's Impldoll pink skin body. Impldoll sent me the wrong skin though, with only the body's right forearm being pink. I sent them some pictures and they agreed to send me a new body in the right color.

A little over a month later (the first body took a little under a month), I e-mailed again for an update on the new body. They didn't reply within the day, but sent me an EMS tracking number the very next day. The body took 4 days to arrive to my country (2 days being over the weekend), but got stuck in Customs for 10.B| Nonetheless, on the morning of the 22nd, I finally got a hold of the box--

--which was in really bad shape 'cause the local post opened it and half-assedly tried to tape it back.DX

But if you think that's scary, then what about opening the box and finding the bubble wrap mummy right away?x_X

I mean, sure, I was already expecting I won't get another bag, but not even a sturdier box or even newspaper..? And while I had a really hard time trying to get the body out last time, this one didn't even have the ends taped closed. The body had nearly slid out.DX I'm willing to put the blame on local post rather than Impldoll though.

Thankfully, the body's intact. It had a few scratches and some dark marks, but the scratches are hardly visible and the dirty spots should be easy to clean.

The impldoll body poses something awesome, but I found a problem with this particular one.=( If you'd notice, his hands are all in the same position in all of these pictures. His left one, in particular, refuses to turn for more than a few degrees. I thought this might be a problem with the S-hooks being too big, but I compared them with the first body's and their exactly the same.

So I think this body's arms just hadn't been 'hollowed out' enough. While I'm OK with pulling out his hands just to turn them, the hooks also scrape against the insides of his arms and I'm scared to break them if I do that repeatedly. I'm going to e-mail impldoll about this, but anyone else have any idea on how to fix this?~_~

Welcome Fahkeer super mini-meet

Jugi's Ahkeer (DOT Lahoo) came home on March 1. Jan arranged a mini-meet to properly 'welcome' him into MM, but it turned into a super mini-meet when ate Ricci couldn't catch up, and Marie, well, pulled a Marie on us. Dae's Visit

Jan, who I had lunch with everyday for the past week, borrowed Dae from Arvie. Because I am so totally NOT buying a Lati-Y, I borrowed her for one night (with Arvie's permission of course). I usually send my boys to bed at 10 or 11, but I love Dae's expressions so much that I let them stay up until much later. These are pictures from that night.

Notes:
* Ceth is Ashe's best friend, who Dae considers a 'sissy'. That makes Ceth one too, by association, but he doesn't mind the title as much as Ashe does.
* Josh trains under Aahil alongside Hyesu, who is Maud(grown-up Dae's)'s boyfriend. She doesn't mind his company as much as she does Ceth's.
* Ceth is a veritable audiophile, but a frustrated guitarist. We discovered Josh is much better at it, but have no idea where he picked up the skill.

Helios' body box opening

Brief history: I ordered Joshua's body from Impldoll on my birthday last year, Dec. 22. By January 11 they said they've shipped my order, and after waiting nearly three months for my boys, that kind of speed is pretty damn dizzying.@_@ Anyway, I tracked the package for about a week, saw it get stuck in Beijing, and figured the held up was because of the Chinese holidays. On the 20th however, EMS-tracking said my order had reached Russia.O_O

I quickly posted at Impldoll's Q&A board, and thank god they hadn't taken their vacation yet. It turned out that they gave me the wrong tracking number, and the package I had been tracking all along wasn't mine at all. Mine had already arrived in the country on the 16th. I waited another week and... still nothing.

Which was actually kind of a good thing since I had my order sent to my officemate's house, and that week was when our CEO came to visit our branch.^^; It got delivered to his house on Friday, the 27th, and he decided to surprise me with it. I was spazzing so hard at work until I realized that I had neither Joshua's head, nor the patience to get home before diving into the box. So yes, please have an office headless body box opening."orz

Jan was the second person to know I've ordered his body, and the first person I messaged about the package arriving. Since she comes to work 3 hours later than I do, she was able to bring Jared (DOI Crush) with her, and they joined us for the box opening. This is the only picture he has in this entire post though.xD;

I really, seriously love cutting boxes open. But Impldoll's box is a lot smaller than Souldoll's, about 2/3 the length and width. A lot lighter too. And there's no second box inside, but there's the free carrier~!♥ (One strap of which broke 2 days later, but was easy enough to sew back on.)

...and genuflects.♥ And this is with his joints still really slippery (I need to hot glue suede them) and his legs strung unevenly. Yuh. His right one appears longer than his left 'cause it's strung more loosely.O_o

His...upper arm joints(?), which I didn't notice in the company pics and are totally cool, lets him twist his arm from side to side without bothering the elbow joints. His thigh joints, on the other hand, have crosshair holes for locking. I make use of the north direction to make him sit, and am still exploring the possibilities for the other three.^_^

Joshua(Soulkid D.Maillo) on his new (and temporary) body. There's a bit of a bobble-head going on, but nothing too bad and it gets better with clothes. I'm hoping a good wig will finish it off.

I wasn't expecting the difference to be this drastic, but I'm starting to think I can live with it. (If anyone wants posing/sculpt comparisons between the two, please feel free to PM me~.)

Why Helios' body box opening?

It's not obvious in most pictures, but the new body's right forearm is a different color from the rest of it:

It matches Souldoll NS near-perfectly though, which was what was reported in the Impldoll resin matching thread and why I ordered from the company in the first place. I sent the picture to Impldoll and they told me they'd send me a new real skin forearm ASAP, but the thing is, what I ordered is pink skin. So I told them that and they said they'll send me a new pink skin body soon. They didn't even ask for better pictures or to have the body I have back.

Erm...yeah. So once it arrives I'm technically jumping from having a floating head around to having a headless body around.^^; Who won't remain headless for long 'cause I've already got a character in mind for him~ Helios! This character is not included in my four planned Minis or the 'solid' doll plan I posted just a couple of weeks ago. Heh. Doll plans. What is that.>>
