GitLab for Visual Studio extension

The GitLab for Visual Studio extension integrates GitLab with Visual Studio for Windows.

GitLab for Visual Studio supports:

• GitLab Duo Agent Platform including GitLab Duo Chat (Agentic), the Software Development Flow, and GitLab Duo Code Suggestions.
• GitLab Duo including GitLab Duo Chat (non-agentic) and Code Suggestions.

Update the extension

To update your extension to the latest version:

1. In Visual Studio, go to Extensions > Manage Extensions….
2. Select the Updates tab.
3. Search for GitLab for Visual Studio published by GitLab (gitlab.com).
4. Select Update on the extension to update to the latest version.
