Why would I donate & how can I donate?
AniTrend already dropped all in-app adverts since v1.0. Donations go toward infrastructure costs and development:
Hetzner ARM VM - runs the edge-graphql gateway, on-the-edge Deno service, and local-stack for multi-source data aggregation
AI tooling - covers LLM-assisted development workflows (though not enough to sustain full-scale automation)
Domain & misc - hosting, DNS, and developer tool subscriptions
AniTrend is an open source project maintained by a small team. Contributions come from people who don't get paid for the time spent. Donations help fund the server infrastructure that makes the enriched data features possible.
What is the difference between AniTrend & AniList?
AniTrend is a 3rd party mobile client (not affiliated with AniList) that connects to AniList to display what you would see on the website. All anime and manga entries shown in the application are owned by AniList.
Why are application features only translated & not synopsis etc.?
AniTrend doesn't own any of the data presented from AniList. If you want synopsis translations, contact AniList. AniTrend only provides translations for application UI features.
Will you ever support language "X" or update translations?
Translations are done by the community. Join the Discord Server and ask in #general about contributing translations via POEditor.
Can I stream anime or read manga?
AniTrend is not a streaming or manga reading application. It is a social platform for anime/manga fans to track progress and discover new listings. Links to official streaming services are provided in anime detail pages.
How can I view 18+ content?
The github and fdroid build flavors support NSFW content. Download from GitHub Releases, enable NSFW in app settings, and enable 18+ content in your AniList account settings.
Why is anime or manga X, Y, Z missing?
AniTrend is a 3rd party client and doesn't add entries to the AniList database. The AniList community adds or edits entries. You can do this yourself through the AniList forum.
Why do notifications only show up when I launch the app?
Custom Android ROMs (Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, etc.) often force-stop apps to save battery. This prevents WorkManager from running scheduled tasks. Add AniTrend to your battery optimization whitelist. See dontkillmyapp.com for device-specific instructions.
