Sometimes, the system and software registry prevent Windows from resetting your PC. The best way to eliminate this issue is by renaming the System and Software Registry Hive. Click on Windows Search and type Command Prompt. Right-click on the Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

9. Paste the path you copied into the Value Data field of the Default key. At the end of the path, add a space and input -Incognito. The final path would look like this:

5. Run a Rootkit Scan

If you don’t know, once a rootkit has been installed, its controller can remotely execute files and change system configurations on your machine. Chances are that you’re unable to delete the files because of a hidden rootkit. You can run a Rootkit scan with Malwarebytes to find & remove rootkits from your device.

1. Launch Malwarebytes on your computer.

2. Switch to Settings.

3. Switch to Scan and Detections.

4. Turn on the toggle for ‘Scan for rootkits’.

5. Move back to the Dashboard and click the Scan button on the Scanner.

This will run a rootkit scan on your Windows 11 PC.

6. Run the SFC/DISM Commands

Certain files, apps, or games may fail to delete or uninstall due to system file corruption. If you still can’t delete unknown files on your Windows 11, running the SFC & DISM commands is recommended.

1. Type CMD in the Windows 11 Search box. Right-click on CMD and select Run as administrator.

2. Execute this command:

sfc /scannow

3. If the Command Prompt returns with an error, execute these commands one by one:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth\r\nDISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth\r\nDISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Wait for the scan to complete. This should fix your issue.

7. Clean Boot Windows 11 & Delete the Files/ Programs

If you cannot delete files, you can try performing a clean boot and then uninstalling the program via the Control Panel.

1. Press the Windows Key + R button on your keyboard to open the RUN dialog box. When the RUN dialog box opens, type msconfig and press Enter.

2. This will open the System Configuration; switch to Services.

3. Check the Hide All Microsoft Services checkbox. Once done, click Disable All.

4. Click on Apply and OK. Next, open the Task Manager > Startup. On Startup, disable all third-party apps.

5. Restart your Windows 11 PC. After the restart, uninstall the program or delete the file.

6. After deleting the files, make sure to revert the changes. Head to System Configuration > Services > Enable All to do so. Once done, click Apply, then OK.

8. Use Third-Party Program Uninstallers

Third-party software Uninstallers work by detecting and removing the lock handles that prevent file removal.

Some third-party software uninstallers for Windows 11 can effectively find and remove such locks. They can also reverse the changes in the log made by an app or file.

When prefetch or network prediction is turned on, Google Chrome automatically caches your frequently visited pages. Once cached, Chrome serves the saved pages the next time you visit those sites.

Since Chrome serves the cached page version, you may sometimes have to reload the page to see the new content. Also, the feature can eat up data in the background and slow down your web browser.

If you have a mid or low-end computer, it’s best to disable the prefetch or network prediction feature in Chrome.

1. Disable Prefetch via Chrome’s settings

This method uses Chrome’s settings to enable or disable Network prediction.

Controlled folder access is a feature that protects your PC from ransomware attacks. With the Controlled Folder access, you can lock folders you don’t want softwares to modify. The feature protects the Documents, Pictures, Videos, Music, and Favorites folders by default. Other than these folders, you also have the option to add other folders to the protected list.

How to Enable Controlled Folder Access?

To enable Controlled folder access on Windows 11, you must make a few changes to the Windows Security app.

1. Launch the Windows Security app.

2. Switch to Virus & Threat Protection.

3. Click on Manage Settings.

4. Scroll down to Controlled Folder Access and enable the toggle for it.

How to Manage the Blocked Files?

What is CCXProcess?

The CCXProcess.exe stands for Creative Cloud Experience and is an important process run by Adobe programs. The process is supposed to launch automatically on Startup, as it is responsible for providing features for the Adobe Programs you are using.

You will find the CCXProcess executable file at the C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Adobe\\Adobe Creative Cloud Experience.

What Does CCXProcess.exe Do?

CCXProcess.exe is a client that helps manage Adobe Creative Cloud applications & your Adobe subscriptions.

The role of this process is to support Adobe Creative Cloud apps to provide important content like templates & filters.

The application is set to start automatically when your PC starts, which is why you see it more often in your Task Manager.

Is CCXProcess.exe safe?

Yes, CCXProcess.exe is 100% safe and legitimate Adobe software that runs silently in the background. However, if you see this process on the Task Manager without any Adobe software, you must check its legitimacy.

Windows users can also notice two CCXProcess.exe on the Task Manager. If you notice this, your PC is possibly infected with malware or a virus. So, you must run a full antimalware scan with a reliable security tool like Malwarebytes.

Should I disable CCXProcess?

CCXProcess is very important for the proper functioning of Adobe Programs, but not for the operating system.

• Name the new key as CCXNew.

Close the Registry Editor & restart your computer. This should disable the CCXProcess on your computer.

3. Disable CCXProcess from the Adobe Creative Cloud Client

If you already use an Adobe product, the Adobe Creative Cloud client will be installed on your computer. You need to change the Adobe Creative Cloud Client to disable the CCXProcess.exe.

• Click on your profile icon at the top right & select Preferences.

Chrome’s automatic updates can slow down the internet connection and raise CPU usage. If you’re on a metered connection, turning off the Automatic Chrome update is important.

1. Rename the Google Chrome Update Folder

The easiest way to turn off Chrome’s automatic updates is by renaming the Chrome update folder.

1. Navigate to the path where Chrome is installed. The path is usually found on \"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Google\\Update\"

2. Right-click the GoogleUpdate executable file and select Rename.

3. Rename the GoogleUpdate executable file to something like GoogleUpdate123, NoUpdate, etc.

Whenever Google Chrome attempts to download the updates, the update will fail.

2. Disable Chrome Updates from System Configuration

You can also use the System Configuration utility to disable automatic Chrome updates.

1. Press the Windows Key + R button on your keyboard. This will open the RUN dialog box. On the RUN dialog box, type in msconfig and press Enter.

2. Switch to Services.

The DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSOD error has troubled many Windows users. The error is more common on Windows 11, and troubleshooting requires hard work. If you’ve just encountered this BSOD error in Windows, here’s what to do.

1. Make Changes to the Power & Power Plan Settings

You can change your device’s power settings to eliminate the ‘Driver Power State Failure’ error message.

1. Open the Control Panel on your PC and click on Power Options.

2. Click on Choose what the Power button does.

3. Click Change Settings, which are currently unavailable.

4. Uncheck the Turn on Fast Startup, Sleep, and Hibernate.

5. Click Save Changes.

6. On the Edit Plan Settings screen, select the Power Plan that is currently active.

7. Click Change Advanced Power settings.

8. Expand the Sleep section and make sure Never is selected in the Sleep Settings.

9. Expand the Wireless Adapter Settings and make sure all settings are set to Never.

10. Expand the PCI Express and select ‘Off’ for all settings.

After making the changes, restart your Windows 11 PC.

2. Update All Drivers

Outdated drivers are a prominent reason for this BSOD Error message. Many users have fixed the BSOD by updating all system drivers.

1. Click on the Windows Start button and select Settings.

2. Switch to Windows Update.

3. Scroll down to the Additional options and click on the Optional updates.

4. If any driver update is pending, click the Download & Install button.

After making the changes, restart your Windows PC. This should fix the ‘DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE’ BSOD triggered due to outdated system drivers.

3. Manually Update the Device Drivers

As noted, outdated or faulty drivers are the main reason for this BSOD error. So, if the above method didn’t work for you, you need to check the Device Manager & find the peripheral causing the issue.

1. Open the Device Manager from the Windows Search.

2. Check for the problematic hardware device. The malfunctioning one will have a yellow exclamatory mark.

3. Right-click on the malfunctioning device and select Update Driver.

4. Select Search automatically for drivers.

4. Rollback the Problematic Device Drivers

Chances are that the new driver installed on your device has compatibility issues, leading to the Driver Power State Failure error message. So, you should roll back the recent driver update.

1. Open Device Manager from the Windows Search.

2. Right-click on the problematic device or recently installed driver and select Properties.

3. Click on Roll Back Driver.

5. Disconnect the Peripherals from your PC

The Peripherals plugged into your Windows PC can also be the sole reason for the Driver Power State Failure BSOD error.

The problem appears when the newly connected peripherals, like USB Drives, Hard drives, Microphones, etc., malfunction.

The best you can do to resolve this issue is to disconnect those peripherals from your PC. Unplug the USB cables of every peripheral connected to your PC and start your computer. Once unplugged, use your PC for a while.

6. Revert the Hardware Changes

Faulty hardware also triggers the Driver Power State Failure error. You need to recall if you have recently made any hardware changes.

Hardware changes could include installing new RAM, SSD, GPU, etc. Whatever the hardware addition, if the BSOD appears after it, it’s time to remove it.

It can be difficult to make the hardware changes, especially if you are nontechnical. The best you can do is to take your PC/Laptop to a local repair shop and ask them to revert the hardware changes.

7. Change the Windows Power Plan

Changing the Windows Power Plan has helped many Windows users fix the error message. You can also try changing it as well.

1. Click on the Windows 11 Start button and select Settings.

2. Switch to the System.

3. Click on Power.

4. On the Power Section, click on the Power Mode drop-down.

5. In the drop-down menu, select a different power plan. You can select the plan according to your needs.

After changing the Power Plan, restart your computer.

8. Run the SFC & DISM Command

System File Corruption may not be directly linked with the BSOD error, but there’s no harm in running these two commands. The SFC & DISM command is supposed to replace all corrupted system files.

1. Type in Command Prompt on the Windows 11 Search. Next, right-click on the Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

2. Execute this command:

sfc /scannow

3. If the above command returns with an error, execute these two commands one by one:

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth\r\n\r\nDism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

After executing all commands, restart your Windows 11 PC. This should resolve the Windows Driver Power State Failure BSOD error.

9. Update BIOS or UEFI

If you have an old computer or laptop, chances are that its BIOS firmware is outdated. An outdated BIOS sometimes creates problems with new hardware.

BIOS updates generally include bug fixes, firmware updates for your PC’s internal components, etc. Updating the BIOS has also helped many Windows users resolve the error.

However, updating the BIOS is not easy, especially if you lack technical knowledge. The best you can do is follow the instructions given by your manufacturer on its official website.

Otherwise, you can follow the motherboard manual with your PC to update the BIOS.

10. Restore Your PC to a Previous State

If you still get the error, the only remaining option you have is to restore your PC to a previous state. However, you can do this only if your device has a restore point available.

1. Open the Recovery app from the Windows Search.

2. Click on Open System Restore.

3. Select Choose a different restore point.

4. Select the restore point created on the date before the first occurrence of the BSOD error.

5. After making the selection, click on Finish.

Now, please wait until the tool rolls back your Windows PC to the date when it’s working properly.

It’s pretty easy to block apps from accessing the internet on Windows 11, but you need to configure the Windows Defender Firewall settings. Here’s what you need to do.

1. Open Windows Defender Firewall from the Windows Search.

2. Click Advanced Settings.

3. Select the Outbound Rules. On the right, click on the New Rule.

4. Select Program and click Next.

5. Select the This program path option and locate the .exe file of the program you want to block from accessing the internet.

6. Select the Block the connection option and click Next in the next window.

7. On the Profile, you must select all three options – Domain, Private, and Public. Once you have done this, click Next.

8. On the Name Window, you must name the new firewall rule something like Block Edge or something else. Once you have done this, click Finish.

Now, your app shouldn’t be able to access the internet.

How to Disable The Firewall Rule to Block Apps

If you want to disable an app’s internet blocking rule, follow these steps.

1. Open Windows Defender Firewall from the Windows Search.

2. Click on Advanced Settings.

3. On the Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security window, select the Outbound Rules.

4. Find the name of the rule you have created. Right-click on the rule and select Disable Rule. You can even click on the Disable Rule button on the right pane.

5. You can even delete the rule. To do so, click the Delete button on the right pane.

Your app will regain access to the internet.

Prevent Windows Apps from Accessing the Internet using TinyWall

TinyWall is a firewall program that can block internet access to apps in Windows 11.

1. Head to this webpage and download the Tinywall program on your computer.

2. Run the TinyWall installer and complete the installation.

3. Right-click the Tinywall icon on the System Tray and select Manage.

4. The Application Exceptions screen will show you a list of apps with internet access. Remove the apps you don’t want to access the internet.

5. If you want a specific app to access the internet, click Add Application and select the app.

6. Click Apply.

It’s normal for Windows 11 users to encounter hard drive-related problems. However, provided the problem is not hardware-related, it can be fixed quickly. Here’s how you can fix hard drive problems.

1. Run the Disk Error Checking Utility

Windows 11 has a Disk error-checking utility that checks the drive for file system errors. The tool can quickly resolve problems such as the Drive taking a long time to open or showing errors when accessing specific folders.

1. Open File Explorer on your Windows 11 PC.

2. Right-click on the drive where you are experiencing a problem and select Properties.

3. Switch to the Tools.

4. Click on the Check in the Error-checking section.

5. Click on the Scan drive.

The disk checking utility of Windows 11 will run and check the drive for file system errors. If it finds any problem, it will resolve it automatically.

2. Run the Check Disk (chkdsk) utility via Command Prompt

Chrome’s password manager is enabled by default, but if you’re unable to use it, you may have made changes that are preventing it from functioning properly. Here’s how to fix it.

1. Make sure the Password Saving is enabled

The password-saving feature is enabled by default, but sometimes extensions or incorrect settings can disable it without your knowledge. So, check whether Password Saving is enabled.

1. Launch the Google Chrome browser.

2. Click the three dots at the top right and select Passwords and Autofill > Google Password Manager.

3. Switch to the Settings.

4. Make sure the toggle beside Offer to save passwords is enabled. If it’s already enabled, disable it and enable it again.

2. Check the app in the Declined Apps and Sites

You may have added the problem site to the Declined Apps and Sites list on the Google Password Manager. If this happens, the Google Password Manager won’t save the password of that site.

1. Launch the Google Chrome browser.

2. Click the three dots at the top right and select Passwords and autofill > Google Password Manager.

3. Switch to Settings.

4. Scroll down to the Declined Sites and Apps section and look for the site.

5. If the site is on the list, click the ‘X’ icon next to the site URL.

3. Disable the Recently Added Extensions

Extensions can sometimes prevent the web browser from saving passwords. This problem happens mostly when you install a security-related extension on your Chrome browser.

You should review the extensions installed on your web browser. To disable an extension: click the three dots > Extensions > Manage Extensions.

On the Extensions page, disable all Chrome Extensions, then check if Chrome is saving the passwords.

4. Update the Browser

Google often releases Chrome updates to deal with these kinds of bugs & glitches. To update Google Chrome, click on the three dots and select Settings.

On the Settings, switch to the About Chrome section. It will download & install the pending updates.

5. Clear the Chrome Browser Cache

An outdated or Corrupted Cache is often the prominent reason for the browser not functioning properly. You can resolve issues related to it by clearing the existing cache files.

• On the menu that appears, select Delete Browsing Data.

• Select All Time on the Time Range. Check the Cookies and other site data, Cached images and files, and click Clear Data.

6. Delete the Corrupted Chrome Profile

Do remember that deleting a Chrome profile will also delete your sign-in methods, bookmarks, browsing history, and the auto-fill data.

1. Launch the Chrome browser and click on your profile picture in the top right corner.

2. Select Manage Profiles.

3. Click on the Settings gear icon beside other profiles.

4. Click the three dots on the Chrome profile and select Delete.

5. Click Delete.

6. To add the profile, click the Add on the Startup screen and sign in to your Google Account again.

7. Reset the Chrome Browser

Resetting the Chrome browser will remove all user-made settings, preferences, customizations, and user profiles.

1. Move to the Chrome Settings page.

2. Click on Reset Settings.

3. Click on Restore Settings to their original defaults.

4. On the Confirmation prompt, click on Reset Settings again.

8. Add the Password Manually

If you don’t want to reset the Chrome browser, you can try adding the password manually to the Google Password Manager.

1. Click on the three dots and then navigate to the Passwords and Autofill > Google Password Manager.

2. Click on Add.

3. Enter the site URL, username, and the Password you want to save. Once done, click Save.

Firewalls or antivirus tools can sometimes detect torrenting or any other P2P client as malicious files. When it does so, it prevents you from running it.

Windows Defender can even prevent the qBittorrent client from connecting to the Internet or running on your PC. To fix this issue, you need to make some changes to the Firewall or disable the security program.

1. Download qBittorrent from its official website

qBittorrent is a freeware program; hence, you can download it for free from its official website. The one downloaded from the official source is reliable and free from any security issues.

You may have downloaded the qBittorrent client from third-party sources with bundled adware or malware. If this is the reason, your Antivirus program can block it from downloading or prevent the installation.

2. Whitelist qBittorrent on Windows Defender

Due to the nature of qBittorrent (a p2p client), Windows Defender or any other firewall program can detect that the tool is malicious.

When it does so, it simply prevents the tool from running or making any connection. You can fix this problem by whitelisting qBittorrent on Windows Defender.

You have multiple ways to access the built-in ISO mounter. You can easily mount or unmount ISO files on a virtual drive in easy steps. Here are the four best ways to mount ISO images in Windows 11.

1. Mount the ISO file in Windows 11 with a double click

On Windows 11, you don’t need to set up the ISO mounter to work. You can double-click the ISO file, which will immediately mount it and open it.

You must open File Explorer and locate the folder with the ISO image. Double-click on the .iso file to mount it on a virtual drive.

If you want to unmount the ISO image, right-click on the newly mounted virtual drive and select Eject.

2. Mount the ISO file in Windows 11 via the Context Menu

If the double-click method didn’t work for you, you could mount the ISO file via the Context menu in Windows 11.

1. Press the Windows key + E button on your keyboard. This will open the File Explorer on your PC.

1. Make sure your internet is working

High-speed internet is necessary for downloading torrent clients; if your internet is unstable, the qBittorrent client may fail to fetch the torrent file.

Before you make any changes to the qBittorent or Windows Settings, ensure your internet is active and stable.

2. Relaunch the qBittorrent

You can end task the qBittorent client from the Task Manager and reopen it. Doing so will eliminate bugs & glitches that may be preventing the torrent client from functioning properly.

Open the Task Manager on your PC and End Task the qBittorent client. Once done, reopen the torrent client and add the .torrent file again.

If you’re an iPhone user, you may sometimes wonder how to get rid of the ‘Optimized battery charging’ and force it to charge faster. However, have you ever thought about what this feature actually is and what it does?

What is the Optimized Battery Charging Feature?

The lithium-ion battery that powers your iPhone is supposed to charge faster, last longer, and offer better battery performance. Still, at the same time, they are also supposed to become less effective as they age. When they become less effective, they hold less charge and drain the battery life faster.

To deal with this issue, Apple introduced the Optimized Battery Charging feature, which is supposed to reduce the wear on your battery and improve its lifespan by reducing the time your iPhone spends fully charged.

When the feature is enabled and active, your iPhone will delay charging past 80% in certain situations. Your iPhone uses on-device machine learning to learn your phone charging routine, so the feature will only activate when your iPhone predicts it will be connected to the charger for a longer period.

How to Enable or Disable Optimized Battery Charging on iPhone?

If you haven’t deactivated the feature manually from the Battery settings, your iPhone already has this feature enabled. If you’ve manually disabled it before, here’s how you can enable it again.

1. Open iPhone Settings.

2. Tap Battery.

3. Tap Battery Health & Charging.

4. Enable the toggle for Optimized Battery Charging.

5. If you don’t want your iPhone to optimize battery charging, toggle off the feature.

6. You will receive a confirmation prompt; tap Turn off.

Follow these steps to turn off or turn on the optimized battery charging feature whenever you want.

Should You Enable the Optimized Battery Charging?

If you want your battery to last longer and maintain its health, you should keep the optimized battery charging feature enabled all the time.

Disabling the feature means your iPhone will charge your battery at 100% while plugged into a power outlet for a long time.

This puts unnecessary strain on the battery, which results in overheating. If you habitually put your iPhone on charge overnight, it’s recommended to keep the feature activated.

Does Optimized Battery Charging slow down the charging speed?

With the feature enabled, your battery will charge up to 80% at normal speed. Once it reaches that mark, the charging stops, and the remaining 20% is charged at a predetermined time.

For example, if you charge your iPhone overnight, it will stop charging at 80%. The remaining 20% will be charged just before you wake up and unplug it from the power outlet.

Chrome’s virus scanner is very useful, but sometimes, it can block downloads just because of false positive signs. When the browser detects a virus file, it stops the downloads and shows a Failed – Virus detected error. You can bypass this error and download the files. Here’s how.

1. Change the Security Settings of Chrome

You should change Chrome’s security settings to bypass the Failed Virus Detected Error message.

1. Open the Google Chrome browser. Click on three dots.

2. Select Settings.

3. Switch to Privacy and Security.

4. Click Security.

5. Scroll to the Safe Browsing section. On the Safe Browsing, select No Protection (Not Recommended).

6. On the Turn off Safe Browsing prompt, click Turn off.

7. You can now download the file. Once the download completes, switch back to Enhanced or Standard Protection in the Chrome Security settings.

2. Disable the Windows Security Program

The real-time protection of Windows Security can also block downloads in the Google Chrome browser. If you still can’t download the file, you must temporarily disable the Security Program.

1. Type in Windows Security in the Windows Search.

2. Open the Windows Security app from the list of best match results.

3. Switch to Virus & Threat Protection.

4. Click Manage Settings under the Virus & Threat Protection section.

5. Disable the toggle for Real-time protection.

After disabling the real-time protection, you can download the file. Turn on the Real-time protection again after the download.

3. Make Changes to the Registry File

If you still can’t download the file and keep getting the same message, you can try disabling the virus scanning for downloads via Registry Editor.

After making the changes, close the Registry Editor and restart your computer. This will disable virus scanning for downloads. To enable virus scanning, type 0 in the Value data field for ScanWithAntiVirus and click OK.

PUA, or Potentially Unwanted Applications, can cause your machine to run slowly. They don’t do much harm; they just run in the background and slow down your device. If you’re relying on Windows Security to safeguard your PC, you can check its Protection History page to see how many PUAs it has blocked until now.

View Apps that Windows Security Identifies as PUA

1. Open the Windows Security app from the Windows Search.

2. Switch to Protection History.

3. You will be able to see how many threats it has blocked, along with the detection time. The list will also have the PUPs.

Potentially Unwanted App Found, Can’t Remove?

Whenever Windows Security detects a PUA, it automatically adds the entry to the Protection history list. This means that if you check the Protection History screen in Windows Security, you can view the previous detections.

Currently, there’s no option to remove the previous detections from the Protection history unless you reset the Windows Security app. You may be checking Windows Security’s Protection History page and assuming that the threat is still there.

However, it’s not. The file in question is no longer available on your PC; it’s just the previous entry you noticed on Windows Security’s Protection History page.

If Windows Security fails to remove a specific PUP or PUA, you can try running a full PC scan with Malwarebytes and ADWCleaner. Both security tools can detect and remove potentially unwanted programs from your device.  Also, Malwarebytes works with adware as well.

Several reasons can cause the Time Synchronization to fail on Windows. Below are the most common reasons.

• Incorrect Time & Date Settings.

3. Find the Windows Time.

4. Right-click on Windows Time and select Start. If it’s already running, right-click and select Stop and Start.

4. Add More Time Servers

Adding more time service may fix the time sync failed error on Windows. If you add more time servers, Windows will try different servers to keep time in sync.

1. Open Registry Editor from the Windows Search.

2. Navigate to this path:

It’s a very important folder that helps you revert to the previous state in case of software failure. Since Windows often uses WinSxS to store new files, the folder size can expand over time, leading to a low disk space problem.

Where is the WinSxS folder located?

The folder is located in your system installation drive; you will usually find it in the C:\\Windows\\WinSxS path.

When you open this folder, you will notice that the files are stored in multiple places in the operating system. However, there’s only one copy of a file, and the rest are just hard links.
