So, about the recent LJ changes.

As you may or may not know, there are changes to LJ today which includes comment pages that do not allow comment titles.

It is believed that some custom comment reading styles may allow comment titles again.

Therefore I turned off the setting that makes people use the default LJ comment style in D_M and DM_OOC. This may change, but I'm trying to deal with things as best I can.

I am now issuing a unilateral pre-emptive warning: LJ 'why do they do that' discussions should go elsewhere. As in not d_m or dmooc.

Thank you for your time, and I'm going to see if I can wake Big Venus up to walk across the place again.

There are no excuses for Néo, but there are explanations. They can be found in hir canon and hir scrapbook. Briefly, for those who actually care, shi and hir friend Pippi are pseudo-hermaphrodite nudists from the J-porn equivalent of Simoun. I'm not kidding here: it's got an all-female cast, playing characters who look female but technically aren't yet, and who might grow up to be male or female, in a story with strong lesbian overtones but whose world proves to be quite heteronormative in its own way.

Introductory post of sorts

I meant to post something along these lines a while back, but got a bit busy and lost track of LJ for a while.

Althea is a character you're not likely to know, as she comes out of the continuity of a rather unusual campaign in the Eberron D&D setting. She has a few different guises she might show up as, but they are essentially the same person. She will probably start to show up unexpectedly, seeming oddly familiar with the nexus and perhaps some of its inhabitants, despite not having been seen before. There is a reason behind this unusual behavior...

Firstly, Althea Tamochi d'Jorasco is a rather unconventional scion of House Jorasco, the House which bears the Mark of Healing and controls virtually all sanctioned healing on Khorvaire through the Healers Guild; she turned her back on the study of healing at an early age and instead trained as a Seer. She now attends Morgrave University in Sharn, and performs her required service to the guild by way of a special arrangement with House Sivis performing research on topics of mutual interest.

However, beneath this mundane identity lies two secrets this young halfling hides even from her own house. Firstly, she herself is dragonmarked, bearing a least mark of healing; having received forewarning in a vision, she deliberately failed the Test of Siberys and continues to hide her mark, lest she be called upon to change the nature of her relationship to the guild. Secondly, she has a new and rare power her world has not before seen, something which has emerged in a few dragonmarked individuals very recently and seems to be tied to the outer planes; in her case Kythri, the Churning Chaos.

To allow her to utilize her abilities without jeopardizing her role with her House, she maintains an alternate identity under the moniker "Vision" complete with an altered appearance (Hat of Disguise, or in this case a hairpin). She also has a few other forms she uses for various purposes.

Because of her connection to Kythri, she can step outside of normal space at any manifest zone to Kythri simply by walking along an extra-spatial dimension; when venturing into Kythri she's been known to come out at unusual times or places, including sometimes before she even entered; she no doubt stumbled upon the Nexus in this way, and her visits don't quite occur in chronological order...

tl;dr version: She's a sort-of superhero seer named Vision with chaos-aligned powers, whose secret identity is a university student. Her visits to the Nexus are occurring in a random order.

Rules Change

I know it's been quiet from the mod team of late, but you've all been rather well-behaved, so there's been no need.

Right now, however, we have found a bit of need. LiveJournal has made a technical change, and we're making a rule to address it. You see, as you may have noticed, there's been things going on with Twitter and Facebook and crossposting. And now, in the newest update... you can post to communities from Twitter and Facebook and the others.

The possibilities for trouble are endless. (As opposed to Endless, no offense made to the seven siblings.)

Therefore, we have decided to invoke a new rule:

THE ORIGINATION RULE.
To post or comment on dear_multiverse and dmooc, you must do so from a LiveJournal account. You cannot post to it from a Facebook, Twitter, OpenID or any other 'Identity' account as allowed by LiveJournal. Doing so will result in an immediate warning.

I trust you will all be mature persons about this.

Thank you for your time.

My name is MIri.
I thought I'd introduce myself cause well... you seem like a lovely bunch of people.
I don't really use LJ outside of RP'ing. I like Sci-fi (Doctor Who and the Joss are brilliant) and anything to do with Time-Travel. Comics are fun and my favorite character is my dear old Muse Bart Allen.

Sometimes it seems that he and I share a brain we are rather similar. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not but... it is what it is >laugh<

I'm relatively new to this.
Hi Guys! I'm new-somewhat-played a few kids here and there 'round these parts. But I want to introduce to you somebody I'm really super excited about. Everybody, say hello to Rachel Childe!

[waits for chorous of "Hi Rachels"]

Rachel and her husband Rex are two characters in a story I've got in progress called Mother of Orchids. It's an experiment for me because they're the only two characters, and to help them get aquainted and get a better handle on who they are I'll be bringing them in one after another as I happen to update each chapter. :D

(I can loosely describe this as "Rosemary's Baby meets Blade Runner meets Resident Evil.")

You can read more about it from Rachel's journal. What you all need to know is there is distinctly something off about her (although I'd really prefer if nobody know. If your character knows these kinds of things, be VERY shocked and we can cover it? <3) same goes for her husband Rex, but the majority will see a woman, late twenties, early thirties who's extremely nervous around people she doesn't know.

(sould be fun yeah?)

Thanks for coming with me on this adventure guys! :D I'm looking forward to it! :)

donna_del_mare post, or in regards to a massive stupidity attack on my part.

I'm not sure how many people actually read here, but here goes.

In regards to a recent post in dear_multiverse by the character rpd in the LJ 'donna_del_mare', I wish to thank everyone for answered her question. I appreciate those answers and the time the muns took in bringing their characters to reply.

I also wish to apologize to everyone who replied in any way for the way I responded to people jumping into a thread started by one of those who replied. I've spoken to several of the muns privately, and I'm in the process of contacting the rest of you.

I admit very freely that my response to the jumping in was stupid, though at the time it was fueled by misunderstanding and a couple personal issues. One of these issues was that I didn't understand how DM 'text' conversations were set up, and so supposed that the people who did so were god-moding. Since such things usually don't put me in such a blind panic as I remember myself being in as I look back, I can only assume that I stupidly let some old junk from my past surface as well in regards to potential heated discussions and forgot for a moment that this is only a game.

(That last is NOT a request for pity. I'd rather be laughed at in a non-insulting way and told I'm a dork than have someone think I'm trying to be a poor little victim who's trying to get away with illegal stuff just because she's 'scarred'.)

I AM a dork. But I'm working on it.

Once again, thank you so much for those replies, people. They may not be going to help my character now. But I get to use them, and I'm glad.

Greetings! My name is Erin and I am bringing to you one of my favorite pups, Dr. Anthony 'Tony' Valentine Hill from Val McDermid's popular Tony Hill mysteries. The novels have been adapted into a popular television series called Wire in the Blood (which was sadly canceled due to budget issues *sobs*).

I am taking mainly from the TV series but will be supplementing that with aspects from the novels when appropriate. Val McDermid has described Robson Green as looking like what she had in mind for Tony when she wrote the novels- he fits the part well- so that is why I combine the two mediums for his character (that, and Robson Green is cute in my humble opinion).

For more background on Tony check out this journal entry I wrote for him for a game I used to be in over on InsaneJournal-
http://dr-tonyhill.livejournal.com/604.html

For more insight from the actor who plays Tony check out this entry-
http://dr-tonyhill.livejournal.com/1022.html

Thanks and I look forward to interacting with you!

It's a Graveyard Smash! [LOL time]

For a third year a row.

During the Month of October, posters of horror movies, both real, and imagined will be popping up in the area. First, nothing happens, and for some - you may just be the lucky fellow who it doesn't get this happen to them (Mun Fiat is the rule of the day).

The post will be up at some today.

For those who aren't so lucky, they will have a dream - disturbing and appropriate to the archetypes, and then wake up as the monster. LOL will last up until Halloween (or end earlier, again Mun Fiat).

Q. Do we have to play this seriously? I wanna play a Wererabbit!
A. Nope! You can, but you can go for full camp, have the full Béla Lugosi type vampires, Zombies that crave ooey gooey cheese pizza, or the demon of lost socks, or you can play it straight to the hilt.

Q. What if my character is already a monster type?
A. Then you can either say it has no effect on them, or have your pup walk in the shoes of another type (imagine the horror of an WOD Garou waking up as a Vampire for example! or again, a Twilight Vampire waking up as a Dresden Files Black Court Vamp).

Q. So WHAT are the monster types?
A.
1.	Frankenstein Monster/Golems
2.	Mummy
3.	Vampires
4.	Werewolves/Shapeshifters
5.	Ghosts
6.	Invisible folks
7.	Creature from Black Lagoon
8.	Witch/Warlock/Sorcerer/Wizard
9.	Bug-men or giant bugs (Think the Fly)
10. Hopping Vampire/Ghost
11.	Devils
12.	Fae/evil genies
13.	Headless persons
14. Scarecrow
15.	Zombies
16.	Cyborg
17. Youma/Youka - Japanese style demons/spirits
18.	Living puppets/dolls
19.	Plant creatures (Pod People, Audrey II etc.)
20.	Yetis/Abominable Missing Link Creatures

Q. So, how will the monsters be assigned?
A. By mun choice, you pop in, decide that oh hay, what'll happen if Kirk wakes up Green. If you can't decide, or you want to be surprised - just say for example "IDK, how about anything except Y" and I munly-mun will roll a dice.

Q. How Long is this suppose to last?
A. Ideally, until Halloween, but you can end it quicker by going "It's Halloween early in my character's world".

Q. Hey why do you have the Hopping Vampires separate from the other vampires and Japanese demons from 'Devils'?
A. Mainly due to the great differences between the two types, and how the respective cinema treats them.

Q. What happens if my character as a Monster bites another character? (Mainly applies to Zombies, Vampires, and Werewolves).
A. Mun discussion! Completely up to you if your pup could pass on their monster traits to another person, but again - discuss it with the mun whose pup who will be affected by this.

Suggestions, Questions, Clarifications, Ponderings of my sanity is welcome here

This may simply be advertising how out of the loop I am, but could anyone give me some current information on the Nexus-associated IRC chats? The last post I can find with information is this one from nearly a year ago, and while the directions do seem to still hold true, I'm finding the chat room surprisingly quiet for so late in the evening. I tried pulling up a channel list, and found nothing with a familiar name. Is there still a Sanctuary? Are there any active channels beyond #basementooc? I'd be curious to play on IRC again, on nights when I can't sleep... It's been a long time since Thorn was there, and I'm sure the rest of the household would be glad for the information as well.

Edit: I have been filled in via IRC by someone lovely and helpful and always terribly well-informed.
Just a brief intro for a new character- this is Vergil, one of the NPCs from Halo 3 ODST. He's a friendly sort of fellow as his species goes, which is to say he's willing to attempt communication with creatures who aren't Prophets, but unless the entity he's speaking to knows Huragok sign language or has a direct computer interface he can access, it's going to be difficult. For purposes of avoiding spoilers he'll be coming in from before the events of the video game, at least until November 22nd.

Hidy ho one and all, I'm new here and this is my Original Character nick named Paranoya - real name Elizabeth Bridget Santiago. She's a little confusing at times, but I swear you'll find her - if not annoying beyond words, a little on the interesting side.

Since she is indeed an OC I am always happy to receive critic and hear what you think of her, since I'm still kind of working on her. You can either send me a PM, or find out more on her journal. I'll post up her intro soon, I swear. x3

i just wanted to say hidy ho and assure you all that I'm not as crazy as my character is. :3

Okay I'm done ^.^
