OBITUARY PRINTED IN THE LONDON TIMES

Knowing when to come in out of the rain;

why the early bird gets the worm;

Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than

you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.

Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouth wash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to

do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further, when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live, as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims did. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion, his daughter, Responsibility, his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights; I Want It Now; Someone Else Is To Blame; I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

So, we were watching The Universe: Alien Faces on the HIstory Channel tonight. There was an expert talking on there and I swear it was Mark (kybearfuzz ). The guy looked JUST like him...

Customer Service Week

At my company we put on our own Olympics during the Beijing games. We had several events and it was a HUGE hit with all the employees. So, most of the events were recorded and one of my guys put the pieces together into a movie. We're going into Customer Service week we decided to use this as our intro.

I think its too damn funny. Maybe it's just cause I know everyone and I'm a bit biased. LOL

Update on my trip.

Clean House - CHECK
Find Passport - CHECK
Mow Yard - CHECK
Buy warmer clothes - CHECK
Pack - will soon

My mother will be arriving tomorrow afternoon to spend a few days here with me and Mark before we depart. I think I'm more excited about her coming than the entire trip. LOL

Anyway.. I hope to have a ton of photos to share.

I know I know I suck... It's been forever since I've posted last. Nothing too exciting has happened. Well, except for the 27 inches of rain Tropical Storm Fay decided to leave us. I've NEVER seen that much rain in a 48 hour period...

Other than that.. It's been work, home, work, home, work.... We're both doing well. 29 days and counting until I depart for the UK. We're finalizing the plans. I've sent off for tickets to be able to watch the "Ceremony of the Keys" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceremony_of_the_Keys

Anyway... That's pretty much it. I've been chatting with a few guys from London. I'd like to meet a local who can show me around while my family rests. I'm getting pretty damn excited.

One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it. Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart.

Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said, "Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine." The crowd and the young man looked at the old man's heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn't fit quite right and there were several jagged edges. In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing. The people stared -- how can he say his heart is more beautiful, they thought?

The young man looked at the old man's heart and saw its state and laughed. "You must be joking," he said. "Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears." "Yes," said the old man, "yours is perfect looking but I would never trade with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love - I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart, but because the pieces aren't exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared.

Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn't returned a piece of his heart to me. These are the empty gouges -- giving love is taking a chance. Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is?"

The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out. He offered it to the old man with trembling hands. The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece from his old scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young man's heart. It fit, but not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges. The young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old man's heart flowed into his. They embraced and walked away side by side.

Well hello there...

I know it's been forever since I was last on here. But rest assured Mark is on here just about every day reading and keeping me updated on all my friends.. LOL..

Lets see where did I leave off.. Ok so I was promoted almost 6 months ago to Department Manager. All in all it's been ok. A TON MORE WORK... I've been working 70+ hours a week.. Luckily my company has sprung for me to have a laptop, now I don’t have to drag my ol desktop home any more. ... hey I guess that's a good thing.

Since I've been the manager I've had to fire one person and hire two. The firing part SUCKS. He had another job already, and was pretty much out the door already. I think that may be the reason he just didn't care any more. However, I've had to clean up the messes he's left ever since.

Mark and I went on vacation recently to visit my mother up in Northern Alabama.   Is it wrong that all i wanted to do was make sure that there weren't any fires back in the office? I was able to stay away from the laptop for most of the time we were there. Just checking in now and again. I REALLY needed to just relax. This job has gotten me all sorts of worked up and stressed. I love it.. but DAMN!

Marks doing well with his job. Every week it seems they've accomplished another goal company wide. Setting the pace for the other stores within his company. I'm so proud of him. I hope it pays off for him.

Our house..
We've still yet to fully unpack. We moved in about 5 months ago and still have boxes in the spare rooms.    I cant wait for spring so that we can get out in the yard and start planting trees and stuff. :) I love working in the yard..

Anyway.. I think that’s about it for me.

Oh btw.. I NEVER MISS HUMP DAY POSTS... Thanks jeffro1982

Right now I'm trying to fix this error we're getting on our desktop computer...
"STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure}" is what it comes up with... SIGH.... and it's just a few months out of our warranty.. isn't that how it always goes?
Lucky for me they have a troubleshooting spot on Dell.com..   I've been told already it may just be that my hard drive is corrupted.   OH IS THAT ALL?

Anyway... back to the troubleshooting..

Look what I found online...

A little late, but interesting:

Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico... But as we know....the great ship did not make it to New York.... The ship hit an iceberg and sank....and the cargo was forever lost.... The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery....were disconsolate at the loss....Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning which they still observe to this day.... The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th.... and is known....of course....as Sinko de Mayo....
