Long time no update!

I'll write a proper update later, but for now I just want to say that Dad's fine and everything's better, so that's a huge weight off my shoulders. Thanks to everyone who sent kind words; you all are the best. ♥

And since a lot of people have been moving over to Dreamwidth, you can find me over at rumpleteazer on there. I don't plan on leaving LJ right now, but I'd still love a way to keep in touch with everyone who does, so feel free to add me over there.

I get the feeling that I'm spamming my own journal lately. Maybe it's because I'm not used to posting all that often.

At any rate, here's another post because I wanted to do this thing again.

Happy Halloween!

I'm trying to enjoy my day now since I'm going to be working all night. Normally today would be a short night since it's Sunday, but they extended the hours since it's Halloween and all. It kind of sucks since it's pretty cold today, and it'll likely get worse once the sun goes down. That's really the main thing that I hate about it: it's no fun being outside in the cold. I assume it'll be pretty busy tonight though, so that should definitely help things. It's not so bad when we're busy, since that typically means we're moving around a lot. It just sucks towards the end of the night when the groups start dwindling, because then we're just basically standing in one spot for several minutes at a time while we wait for someone to come through. That's really when the cold gets to you.

Anyway. There's really no point to this post, so here's a meme... sort of.

Create a graphic (200 x 200 max size) to represent your personal "candy". It should have your username on it, but otherwise can feature whatever you want. Make it something special since it's self-representative.

Make a post with the subject "trick or treat?". Put your "candy" somewhere in it, and be sure to repost these instructions.

Then, go around other people's LJs and reply to them with either "trick" or "treat". If you reply with "trick", they will give you an LJ dare that you have to perform before taking their candy. If you're too wimpy for that, simply say "treat" and take their candy.

List all your collected candies in your original "trick or treat?" post to show off your collection!

I'm not doing the whole 'trick' thing since I'd never be able to think of anything for it, so just take one if you want it. There are three different ones because I couldn't decide which one I liked best, but oh well! This was more or less an excuse to make cute (or, uh... not so cute?) graphics.

Finally watched the rest of the Saw movies. I didn't really care for the first one when I saw it, so I never bothered with the rest, but here recently I decided what the heck and watched them. Not in one sitting, but yeah. I don't really know why, but I liked all the rest better than the first one. I might actually think about seeing Saw VII in theatres this October, even. Admittedly, I'm kind of interested in it anyway since it's supposed to be in 3D, and I think it'd be interesting to see a movie like Saw in 3D. Plus, Johnny Yong Bosch is supposed to be in it, and that amuses me far more than it should.

I really love the music that always plays at the end, too.

Speaking of upcoming movies, Child's Play is getting a remake. I'm really anxious about that, since it'll be nice to see them going back to the beginning with that, instead of just coming out with another horror-comedy like the last couple of movies.

The American Let the Right One In remake (called 'Let Me In') is... well. I get more and more irritated the more I hear about it.

The Puppet Master remake is another one that has me kind of worried. On the one hand, a 3D Puppet Master movie sounds cool, but on the other... I don't want them to completely screw it up. I just hope they don't make crappy CGI puppets if they do go through with it. (Oh, and Puppet Master: Axis of Evil comes out in a couple months. Yay?)

Also, I finally got around to watching the Poseidon remake the other night. Never cared much for the original, but... Emmy Rossum ♥ I swear, I'll watch anything with her in it.

There's also an apparent Paranormal Activity sequel coming out later this year, too. I'm... kind of curious about how that's supposed to work.

And lastly, the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake comes out a week from Friday! I really wish I wasn't this excited about it, but I am.

I really wish I could change my birthday. Maybe that makes me selfish, but I'm not unwilling to admit my vices. (Most of the time.) I know it's just a normal day like every other day, but I never realized how much a simple "Happy Birthday" meant until now.

This is what I woke up to this morning!

Yes, that's the front door. And yes, that's snow piled up against it.

Schools and such were closed, but I still had stuff to do. So not fair. We never got any snow days when I was in high school. I don't think we even got delays because of snow -- though we did get a couple on account of fog. Nope, if we had snow, we had to still wait out on the corner... Or we had to run out into the rain and chase the bus down because they forgot to stop in front of the house. (And despite how much I love rain, that is seriously. Not. Fun.)

Ah, well.

I did want to walk down to the park to take some pictures, but decided to skip it for today since my leg's been bothering me. Hopefully it'll be better tomorrow, so I can go there after work.

...Yeah. Snowstorms really are just about the only interesting thing happening right now.

I don't really know what to say about this one. I just thought it was cute, in that trying to make an escape kind of way.

T-elos from one of the mini comics that was in the Xeno Emission E3 book. Where else would you see T-elos looking like that?

Luke/Natalia~ Disregarding the fact that I ship Natalia with just about anyone in the Abyss cast, this is one of my favorite pairings for her. They had so much potential for a relationship, romantic or otherwise, that was just thrown away for the sake of canon love-interests.

Ah, Maryse. What is there to say about her? She's my favorite female wrestler in the WWE right now, but she recently had surgery on her knee so she's currently out of action. I think she's absolutely gorgeous, and I'm in love with her accent.

Oh man. This is a quote from cleolinda's wonderfully hilarious Phantom of the Opera in 15 minutes. Read it here. I always re-read it when I'm in need of a laugh, because it never fails to crack me up. You should definitely check some of her movies in 15 minutes.

Honestly? I just love Rise's Shadow. And I liked the "No touching allowed~" quote it made.

I just fell in love with this icon when I saw it, since Shuyin and Lenne are one of my favorite pairings, and I love greyscale icons. The texture use is nice too.

I really like the female protagonist's design in P3P. And I liked the way this icon turned out, so... yeah. That's about it for this one.

Yukiko's my favorite P4 character, so I'm really happy that we're finally getting to see her Shadow in the manga. Plus I thought that particular picture of her was cute, even if it is a fanservice image.

Fandoms: Power Rangers, Persona, and Vampire Knight

01. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Power Rangers: Wow, I... do not remember. I just remember watching it on TV when I was younger, and then playing 'Power Rangers' with my brother and our friends. Actually, it was probably my brother that got me watching it in the first place.
Persona: I didn't get into Persona until Persona 3 FES came out, but I only bought that game because people kept talking about it and I wanted to know what all the fuss was about.
Vampire Knight: ...another one that I don't really remember. It was probably something I randomly downloaded, since I tend to do that when I get bored.

02. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Power Rangers: Considering I still like it now? I think a part of me will always like it, if only for nostalgic purposes.
Persona: It's difficult to say. I'm still really fond of both P3 and P4, so there's no saying right now.
Vampire Knight: As much as I like it, I'll probably move on. I haven't read any of the new chapters since April, so... yeah. I'll probably catch up at some point and follow it until it finishes, but I probably won't stick around.

03. What are your favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
Power Rangers: I'm not about to go look up all the episodes, but I will say that I only really liked the Mighty Morphin' and Dino Thunder seasons.
Persona: I've only played 3 and 4, as previously mentioned. Out of those to though, 4 is probably my favorite.
Vampire Knight: Again, I don't want to look up individual chapters, but I liked the one where Yuuki regained her memories, and the few that immediately followed it.

04. Do you participate in this fandom (fan fiction, graphics, discussion, etc.)?
To save space this goes for all of them: I don't really participate much in fandoms. I make icons, and I'll maybe comment in communities once in a while, but for the most part icons or graphics are about as far as I'll go. I haven't written fic in forever, but I might try to start again just to get some writing practice.

05. Do you think that people should get into this fandom?
To save space this goes for all of them: It's really up to each individual whether or not they want to. I really don't like saying someone should or shouldn't, if only because everyone's tastes differ.
