One of my WIPs has a big focus on love.
So there’s the two main characters. They’re best friends, so the first part (the story is in two parts) focuses on their friendship and (mostly) platonic love. And then the second part focuses on their growing romance. I didn’t want the story to JUST be about the romance, though, because I felt that the initial friendship was just as important to their story as the romance. And the plot just so happens to span about three years of time, so it works out very well.

I also have a side, er, plot, about the girl developing a relationship with her estranged sister. (And also a little bit of the boy developing something kind of “friendship”-ish thing with the girl’s sister, because the girl is important to them both, so they have some common ground.)

I love JoJo Moyes love story in You Before Me, which takes a good hard look at love while nicely sidestepping the usual falling into bed together scenario. And there is also a great slice of maternal love and perhaps most important of all – self love… Thank you for yet another excellent article, Sara:)

“The Little Book of Hygge” is wonderful.

I need to check out the”Unf*ck” book, I think. I now have health issues that create limitations, and some new ideas for how to manage the house within the constraints of “new normal” might be a good thing.

A very insightful article on legacy in literature! I haven’t read too many books that use legacy. But the one that I did is still one of my favorite and most memorable stories, and that is The Night Circus.
