Digital News Weekly Makes a Triumphant Return!

After a summer of strange events, eloping data servers and technical difficulties, Digital News Weekly, located in Neon City, has made its return to the D-Comm Network of the Digital World!

Naturally the management apologizes for the downtime, but promises to continue bringing the news to the denizens of the Digital World now that all the problems have seemingly been resolved.

Neon City Combined Schools Christmas Recital Needs YOU!

The Elementary, Middle and High schools in Neon City are going to be coming together for a joint Christmas Recital just before Winter Break commences, and are currently looking for adult and non-staff/student tamers to aid in the performance!

The principle of Neon City High is encouraging ANY tamer, not just the students, staff or parents of students of the school with any sort of talent or skill to lend to come and participate in the event, which will be taking place December 16th, the Friday before the two and a half week Winter Break starts for the school district.

They are looking for performers and helpers alike, and not just those with musical talent. Short skits, displays of other talents and dance routines are going to be welcome as well, and try outs to decide the final entries will be held the first week of December. Digital News Weekly has kindly offered to handle the entries and requests all interested parties send their information to this network post before the cut off date of November 25th, 2011.

Tickets will be free for the event, but donations of up to 100 BITS are encouraged to support the Neon Glow: Fine Arts for the Community Project.

A New Taste Has Arrived in Tetha!

Katz Candy is now open. For those who don't remember, several months ago strange jelly monsters invaded Tetha. Thanks to the efforts of DATS and other Tamers the city was saved from any potential crisis. However one candy store was damaged in the attack.

A tamer by the name of Katz bought the damaged store from the previous owner and has successfully restored the building. He is offering a sale for his first month of business. All candy is on sale and free samples of all of his goods are available. And with Halloween just around the corner this is a deal everyone should check out.

Megakat Auto Undergoing Change

Reiko Hiyama, current owner of Megakat Auto located in Neon City has announced that the business will be changing it’s name to Mega Auto and Repair, effective on the 17th of this month.
When questioned about this change, Miss Hiyama simply stated “I think this is the right time for it. I just found out I’m pregnant, actually, and it occurred to me that change isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I think a name like Mega Auto better suits the business, and it’s a chance to possibly start expanding in to other things.”

Many tamers will remember the location as originally being owned by tamer Jake Clawson who turned hostile after an incident during Valentines Day earlier this year. The business was given over to Miss Hiyama after the incident, and Clawson remains on the hostile list. Miss Hiyama claims that the name change has nothing to do with the loss of the previous owner, and assures her customers that business is going to continue on as normal even with her current condition.

Looking Glass Acoustic Night

The Looking Glass Club in Downtown Neon City is holding a special, one time only Acoustic Night on October 28th. The entire night will be dedicated to the smooth sounds of acoustical music played on the main stage, with the club set with a coffee-shop style atmosphere.

Entrance fee will be a little more expensive for this special event, and dress is required to be casual formal, but the invitation is open to all who wish to attend.

Kabuki Returns to Asuka!

Once again, the Asuka Kabuki Theater is holding a performance by the troupe led by Kabukimon and human tamer Ryuunosuke Ikenami. It's a thrilling story of romance, warring kingdoms and a tragedy that changed two worlds. Inspired by a story given by a tamer who's name was not disclosed for privacy reasons, this play was given the English name Worlds Collide by Kabukimon.

The performance will run from October 20th to November 10th. Ticket prices start at 2,500 bits for adults, 1,500 for children. To purchase tickets please contact the Asuka Kabuki Theater house or Ryuunosuke Ikenami.

Announcing the Reopening of the Off Key Bar in Axoryi!

Looking for a good time, a chance to unwind and throw your cares to the wind? Then come on down to the newly renovated Off Key Bar in Axoryi!

What was once a run down, barely maintained karaoke box/bar has since been renovated and reopened to the public under the same name but with new management. Owner Lisa has turned the Off Key Bar around in to a functioning, clean, well serviced business that caters to karaoke lovers and casual drinkers alike.

The bar (open only to tamers 18 and up) is full service, with completely stocked shelves behind the counter as well as a kitchen. Chef John Silver provides the best in tavern food that is available in the bar, at the counter, or in the karaoke boxes by order.

The karaoke boxes have been completely overhauled as well, redesigned with new plush black leather couches, flat screen tvs for lyric display set in to the wall, and state of the art karaoke systems controlled by remote from the room. A phone is used for calling out for service from the menu, and faux granite tables at two heights allow for enjoying refreshments sitting down or standing up. Charity After an Attack

A nice case of charity to report tonight, Digital World! Several weeks ago those strange jelly monsters attacked Tetha and lucky none were hurt as you recall. But one local business was destroyed. Unfortunately, the digimon's insurance could not pay for the damages to his shop and he was left with no choice but to file for bankruptcy.

But a kind benefactor, one Mr. Katz, stepped forward to help. He bought the shop from the Agumon, for the total the shop was worth prior to damages. The Agumon reported he was so happy to hear from the Tamer and that the generous offer has given him enough money to allow him to retire to Axoryi.

Mr. Katz simply commented he did it to right a wrong that should never have happened. He has plans to reconstruct the shop and rename it Katz Candy. The store has no set date to open, but this reporter is sure that a business born from this amount of charity will be welcome in Tetha.

Mother's Day Maiming

Mother's Day is normally a day of joy and celebration, honoring Mother's all over the world. But this Mother's Day had a dark turn late in the night. A unfortunate Tamer named Paulo was caught by some sort of monster and attacked. He sustained serious injuries and currently is in stable condition. His sever injuries will keep him in the hospital for some time, says doctors.

This is not the only time the boy has been attacked, however. Last Christmas Eve sources tell us he was attack in a similar fashion. Does someone have it out for this Tamer? What connections does he have? Doctors denied reporters from asking the boy himself any questions.

Tetha Tea Shop Temporarily Closed

The Magical Teashop in Tetha will be closed for repairs following the brutal and violent attack of a new Criminal Known as Madam Rouge.

On Thursday the 12th Rouge infiltrated the Teashop during business hours disguised as an acquaintance of Miss Jinx, The owner of the Chain of shops.

Shortly upon meeting Rouge attacked Jinx dropping her disguise and a fight tore apart the shop.

Further information on that status of the shop and the owner will follow as it becomes available.

For now police and the public are to be on alert for Madam Rouge. She has been labeled as Dangerous, with the ability to stretch and shape her body, including taking the shape of other people or things. She has a weakness to excessive heat or freezing temperatures. Should you encounter her the public is advised to not engage and contact authorities as soon as possible.

A Sweet Attack

Due to the network falling last week we could not report on this. On April 11th, Tetha was invaded by strange jelly monsters. They seemed intent on gathering Tamers and Digimon but none have been reported missing. Thanks to DATS intervention and the local Tamers, the monsters were forced back.

Unfortunately a local Candy Shop was brutally vandalized during the attack. The owner Augmon was unable to comment due to the distress at the possible loss of his business. It is unsure if the shop was insured and if any insurance would cover jelly monster attacks.

Runaway Rocket Gets Grounded!

As of April 15th it seems Roxy Rocket's reign of destruction is at an end for now.

The high flying dare devil turned tornado of property damage was recorded on security footage breaking into and cutting a swath of destruction through a security companies robotic guards in yet another attack on a Junk City business owned by Mr. Ronald Pearlman.

This time however the security company "Winterworks" was able to contain her so that she was taken in by none other then Neon City superhero and Teen Titan "The Card Queen"

Badly wounded from her encounter with The Card Queen we have been informed that Ms. Rocket is in critical care and a coma for the time being.

Mr. Pearlman had this to say "I am saddened that this situation could not be resolved peacefully and am comforted that my employees will no longer have to fear for their jobs being destroyed by this heinous criminal. I want to personally thank Card Queen for dispatching her in the swift and brutal manner that was necessary."

Silverwings Ruffled!

Digital News Weekly has received a letter from Neon City Heroine, Silverwing. The letter, submitted to the Weekly's classified department, was little more than three sentences, but it seems to promise a fight.

The letter reads as follows.

You've been trying to get my attention for a while now, Slade. Well now you've got it. Meet me on the Axoryi Docks on May 1st after sunset, and we can discuss whatever you want in a more appropriate setting.

Silverwing has been known for being level-headed and devoted to stopping crime as non-violently as possible, so that poses the question: Who is Slade, and what could he possibly have done to warrant being called out like this? Digital Weekly News will stay on top of this story. In the meantime, the citizens of Axoryi may want to avoid the docks this evening!

Communication Network disabled!
The communication network linking digital channels, D-comms, and Rise Bracers experienced a number of errors that made it difficult to impossible for individuals to communicate. The digimon of Witchelny, responsible for overseeing the network, have stated that things appear to be fixed, but remain tight lipped about the cause.

Attack in Neon City
An Assaultmon spouting anti-establishment views caused a disruption in Neon City this past week, causing much destruction while wounding and reverting several Tamers and Digimon. Three Tamers attempted to stop him, and after much difficulty, he was reverted to his Child form by one Tamer and his perfect level partner. The digimon, a Commandramon, was taken into custody by DATS, and the three Tamers were given immediate medical attention for their injuries. Digital News Weekly was unable to get interviews with the brave tamers involved, but the residents of Neon City that were affected have expressed thanks to them for their efforts.

Roxy Rocket At It Again

In Junk City this week Roxy Rocket continues her weekly rampage by demolishing yet another business within' the city.

The infamous dare devil has since February destroyed no less then four warehouses, two mining operations, a coffee house and a construction site. These attacks are typically well contained and have no casualties save for what appears to be the remains of several thousand bits worth of service droids at each location.

While the owners of said properties couldn't be reached for comment Miss Rocket herself wished to comment claiming "I really just can't help myself when I'm on a roll you know? This really hot superchica inspired me. You know the one? There was a picture of me with her in one of these weeklies. By the way can I get a copy of the original for my scrap book?"

Will this seemingly senseless destruction be stopped? Or does Miss Rocket have a grander scheme in store for Junk City? Only time will tell.

The Axoryi Aqua Slam game between the Orcamon Assaults and the Rukamon Raiders has been rescheduled for Monday.

Events

The D'Ango community of Ursus will be holding a celebration in honor of the first planting of the new season. Mayor Grizzmon encourages Digimon and Tamers from all over to join them and take part in the festivities and help in the planting.

Star of stage and screen Bastemon has announced that she will be starring in a new production with the Flower Paradise maven, Lotusmon, in a new production. Advance tickets immediately sold out, despite no title, premiere date, or even medium being set.

Storms Rock Axoryi

Severe storms rocked the city of Axoryi and surrounding waters this week, greatly effecting both trade and the daily lives of its citizens. Thanks to the anti-flood measures taken by civic engineers, potential damage was averted, save for a bridge that was destroyed by out of control canal waters. This endangered a Tamer and several of his students from Hamilton Karate Studio, but luckily, DATS agents arrived to help them before any loss of life or data. The city of Axoryi thanks DATS, and all of those who helped to ensure no greater trouble occurred, for their assistance.

Frozen Delights in a Frozen Land?

A new ice cream parlour, Meramon's Frozen Delights, will be opening in Meria this Friday.

"Everyone loves ice cream, no matter where they live," the proprietor, Meramon said. "Once people taste our quality product, they'll come back for more."

Despite Meramon's assurance that the business will be a hit, local residents expressed skepticism at his endeavor.

"No one wants cold food around here," a Penmon said, "I don't expect it to last very long."

"Is Meramon crazy?" a Chakkumon asked, "I'd sooner buy ice!"

Among the flavors that Meramon's Frozen Delights will carry are Arbormon Breeze, Blue Hawaii, Jyureimon Jubilee, Moosemon Tracks, and Vanilla.

Ventus Square Vandalized!

On Wednesday night, the merchant community of Ventus Square in Tetha was vandalized. Shop owners coming to work on Thursday were dismayed to discover that their store fronts were covered with spray-painted messages supporting the deceased Ravemon's anti-tamer agenda. Kiosks were destroyed, but no businesses were broken into. Damage is estimated in the hundreds of thousands of BITS.

Tetha authorities are investigating, but they have reported no leads. Anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Flash Mobs

A recent phenomona has seen flash mobs gathering in various cities - enough Digimon in one place to, say, clog a building's lobby for five minutes, then disperse over lightposts.

The origin, purpose, and number of people involved in this are as yet unclear. We will be researching this story actively!

Neon City Bar Ransacked

The "Hellhole", a bar reportedly popular with Neon City's less than reputable population was the site of an all out massacre last week. Upon arriving at the scene, the only clues that were found by DATS were numerous bullet casings, multiple digi-eggs, and a D-Comm message alerting people to the event. No one knows who or what caused this, and no potential suspects were seen arriving or fleeing the scene. Residents in that area are advised to be on their guard.

Famous Windball athlete Marcus Mojamon was suspended today after accidentally reverting a fellow player, Drimogemon, to the Baby level. This is his 20th unprovoked reversion, and the 5th career ruined as a result.

Loony Lovegood's Legal Loophole

Another twist in the saga of Luna Lovegood emerged on Friday. Lovegood's lawyer, Megadramon, of the law firm of Lilamon, Megadramon, and Devimon announced that civil proceedings were moving forward against both the Neon City Police Department and St. Silphymon's Institute for the Challenged.

"Lovegood's treatment at the hands of both of these institutions is nothing short of tragic. She surrendered peacefully, yet a loose cannon in the police department reverted her partner to a digitama!" he decried, "And nobody in the digital world could possibly believe that a properly run institution could be unable to prevent a single human girl from escaping from confinement unaided, even in the event of a virus. Now they have her heavily medicated to cover up their own mistakes! We're looking for justice here!"

Both the Neon City Police Department and St. Silphymon's have indicated that it is their policy not to comment on pending litigation.

A Week of Violence for Axyori and Asuka

A strange string of violent but non-lethal attacks were reported through Axyori and Asuka through the week of Monday, March 7th to Thursday, March 10th. A total of six tamers and one digimon were attacked and injured by a girl described as "small, with silver hair and red eyes, covered in dirt and blood wielding a knife,".

Several of the attacked tamers claimed that they had seen her stumbling around the streets and attempted to approach her to see if she needed help, which apparently caused her to lash out in fear at them. Most received no more than superficial wounds, though two tamers did wind up in the hospital with blood loss due to nicked arteries. One tamer, who chose to remaining anonymous when speaking with our reporter, had this to say about the attack:

"She seemed more afraid than angry. After she slashed at me a couple of times and caught my arm with her knife, she started apologizing and ran away a few seconds later."

Reports of the attacks stopped coming in late Thursday night and the assailant has not been seen since. Asuka and Axoyri residents are still being advised to be cautious and report any suspicious activity.

Well known and loved digimon children's author Zachary Shakomon, writer of such books as The Agumon Parade and Dovemon's Adventure is going to be doing a reading of select stories from himself and other authors in Natsu Mizu-Umi Park in Neon City for children tamers and digimon, Friday March 18th starting at 12PM and going until sundown. Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring blankets and picnics for the event.

An "Art-Lunch" is being held at the Axyori Community Center starting Wednesday, March 16th starting at 10AM and going every Wednesday in to mid-April. On a sadder note in real world news, I'm sure everyone has been made at least somewhat aware of the terrible natural disasters happening in Japan and outlining areas and the resulting issues with the nuclear power plants that have followed.

Beginning March 14th, help_japan will be taking actionable items for the donation efforts that will be going to Japan. They are taking everything from fic to art to graphics, and the front page currently has a very good FAQ regarding what they're taking. As always in these situations, any and all donations and efforts are helpful, but even if you can't provide anything, it's good to know that things like this are being done.

Our own mellonemrys and infinityblade have put up helpful information posts regarding the disaster, other ways to help and where to find information on their journals.

Our thoughts are with those in Japan during this trying and difficult time, and we wish much luck to Operation Tomodachi, the US Military Aid operation that is being sent to Japan and affected areas.

Event Crasher

This last Wednesday, March 2nd, Dr. Finitevus made another reappearance in Neon City just after sunset. From what our reporters were able to gather, the doctor appeared at three public events, riding on the back of a Black Aero-VDramon, and attacked the digimon at each event. The wedding off Mr. and Mrs. Elecmon and Gizamon, the Movie in the Park night at Natsu Mizu-umi Park, and a concert by a local band called 'Cashe' were the events that Finitevus interrupted, all of them very populated with digimon.

In each event the doctor appeared using one of his "Warp Rings". It has been discovered these rings allow the doctor to transport from place to place at will. He descended each event and began to attack digimon indiscriminately. According to eye-witnesses, his partner would grab up the digimon and force them to devolve into a younger form or tama them all together before dispensing them into one of the Warp Rings.

Thankfully, due to the intervention of several brave digimon and their Tamers, many of the digimon that could have been captured were able to flee. In the end the local heroine, Silverwing, was able to save a large amount of the captives while her Partner battled the mad scientist.

Unfortunately a number of digimon who were at these events remain missing as of this article. Mr. Elecmon and Mrs. Gizamon are on the list of still missing digimon and their families are offering a 20,000 BIT reward to anyone who can give the authorizes information as to the whereabouts of these two newlyweds.

Dr. Finitevus is still at large and to be considered extremely dangerous. DATS urges citizens to not engage the doctor or his partner, and should they be seen, contact DATS immediately.

Axyori Magical Teashop in Ruins

The Axyori branch of Magical Tea Shop saw some serious damage this week when a battle broke out between two tamers, Wednesday, March 2nd. Manager Duo Maxwell went head to head with known sealed hostile Jake Clawson within the confines of the establishment after Clawson drove his motorcycle through the front door. Although it appeared to be a random attack, Maxwell later confirmed that he had, in fact, called Clawson out on a post he made over the network and challenged him to the showdown. Readers may recall Clawson was responsible for severely injuring several DATS agents during Valentines Day.

Despite evacuating the premises in order to keep injuries and causalities to a minimum, Maxwell sustained serious injuries after Tamer Estellise Sidos Heurassein, a worker at the shop, returned to get something she had left behind. Clawson used Heurassein as a distraction and tore in to Maxwell's leg, escaping shortly after. Though he was partially healed by Heurassien, he was still taken to Axyori General Hospital and remained in general care for two days before being released. The shop was heavily damaged in the fray and has been closed for repairs.

Maxwell has said that the recent virus was likely to blame for his irresponsible actions, stating that he wasn't feeling like himself when he challenged Clawson despite his connection to several of his victims, but also went on to say that he feels guilty regardless and wants to formally apologize to anyone he may have upset or angered in the aftermath of the event.

Maxwell has stated that the shop should be rebuilt within the month and will open before April, and that Axyori residents can still go to any of the other fine locations of the Magical Tea Shop. Heurassein couldn't be reached for comment. Clawson is still at large, still considered armed and extremely dangerous, and DATS has voiced concern that the event may have driven him deeper underground, making him potentially harder to find and apprehend.

Loony Lovegood Escapes, Then Returns

More trouble for Editor of the questionable so-called news paper "The Quibbler" and MAGI witch Luna Lovegood. Last week she escaped from custody of the mental rehabilitation hospital on Thursday, March 3rd. She was confined to the center several weeks back following her arrest while holding cursed magical items. During her escape she injured nearly every member of the security staff, several doctors and some patients.

Curiously enough she returned to the ward apologetically first thing Sunday morning. She is now under heavy sedation and security as her punishment is being decided upon. No word yet on if any further charges are going to be added.

Couples Attacked

This past week in Neon and Junk there have been reports of Tamer and Digimon couples being attacked after dark. The resulting injuries range from minor to severe but non-life-threatening, although at least one Digimon has been tamaed. The attacker has been described as a red-haired boy wearing green. It is unknown at this time if this is related to the virus currently affecting Tamers, but all Neon and Junk residents are advised to travel in large groups if they must be out late.

The Darker Side of Viruses

On Tuesday, March 1st, the recent virus took a dark turn when one Sadamitsu Tsubaki, apparently under the effects of Lust, attempted to sexually assault DATS Agent Riza Hawkeye in Neon City. Hawkeye subdued him and summoned DATS, who took Tsubaki into custody. DATS has released Tsubaki now that the virus has ended, stating that they have determined that his actions were a result of the virus and were not of his own will.

DATS, Hawkeye, and Tsubaki have all refused further comment on this matter.

Axyori Port is going to be holding its first ever Picc-a-Dilly Flea Market this weekend on the docks starting at Noon on Friday, March 11th going until 5PM, Sunday March 13th. Tamer Jake Clawson went missing late Monday night after an argument with DATS Lead Garage Mechanic Haku Onizuka and has not been seen since. DATS is currently searching for Clawson on charges of aggravated assault against Onizuka, however Onizuka is refusing to speak out against Clawson and has yet to come forward with any information.

DATS investigated the sight of the argument where Clawson was last seen on the rooftop of the Hyperion Inn where both parties live, however any evidence was obscured by a power fluctuation of some kind that momentarily disabled the security cameras in the area.

DATS agents are asking for any information on the whereabouts of Clawson, and warn tamers to not engage if sighted.

Hostile Attack

Tamer Nokoru Imonoyama was attacked in the Natsu Mizu-umi Park in Neon City late afternoon and sustained stab wounds to his upper shoulder, arm and torso. So far Imonoyama has refused to comment on the perpetrator of the crime, claiming it to be a 'misunderstanding', but tamer Rtisu Namine cleared up some of the facts by stating that one of her siblings, Tei Sokune, is 'unbalanced' and that she often turns violent when confronted or upset.

Sukone is currently MIA and hasn't been seen since the incident, though Namine has requested information be sent to her if she is spotted. Imonoyama was seen to at Neon General and sent home within the day.

Love is in the air

Tamers and digimon are both feeling the effects of Valentines Day in full force this week with another virus in the air. Some are feeling especially romantic, fluffy and affection while others may be feeling particularly amorous. Of course this spells good things for local businesses of all kinds as sales of various items like flowers, chocolate, and martial aids have sky rocketed in the past few days.

Like all viruses it will likely be over within the next week, but tamers and shops alike are taking advantage of it while they can.

Neon City Martial Arts Tournament

The First Neon City Martial Arts Tournament judges have released the list of entrants of the tryouts that ere held February 4th. All entrants that have been accepted in to the tournament will be participating on March 11th, 2011, at the Neon City High School gymnasium.

Judges: Alice Hamilton (owner of Hamilton Martial Arts in Axoryi), Suoh Takumura, Katz and Illyria.
DATS agent Touma H. Norstein and Espio will be additional judges for the Tournament on March 11th.
