Inclusive Excellence at Tufts University<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Renamed in 2023 to emphasize the integration and prioritization of inclusive excellence in every aspect of university life at Tufts, including teaching, learning, research, and scholarship. IIE prioritizes and aligns efforts to advance institutional inclusive excellence through four key pillars for operationalizing meaningful change including: developing people and leaders, informing and advancing policies and practices, creating and expanding resources and research, and designing community targeted educational programs.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Our Office<\/h3>\n

The Office of the Vice Provost for Institutional Inclusive Excellence (IIE) is comprised of a team of professionals and practitioners dedicated to sustained inclusive change. The office is informed by best practices, academic scholarship, and decades of experience leading this work including the Institutional Inclusive Excellence framework.<\/p>\n

In 2023, Tufts renamed the Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) to the Office of the Vice Provost for Institutional Inclusive Excellence (IIE) to better align to best practice and fully embrace the work of inclusion in our university community.<\/p>\n

The IIE office prioritizes and aligns their efforts in advancing institutional inclusive excellence through four key pillars. These four pillars represent the distinct pathways through which meaningful change is articulated and implemented at Tufts and will inform the nature of the ELEVATE<\/a><\/strong><\/em> strategic vision process.<\/p>\n
