Karly is also part of team Ditchbook, enjoying her role as blog editor and social media manager.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Novel HyperDocs are the brainchild of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MsMarshallCMS\" style=\"outline: none;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heather Marshall<\/a> when, after discovering HyperDocs (created by<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/lhighfill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lisa Highfill<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/kellyihilton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kelly Hilton<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/sarahlandis\" style=\"outline: none;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sarah Landis<\/a>), she decided to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebooksomm.com\/home\/ditching-the-whole-class-novel\" style=\"outline: none;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ditch the whole class novel <\/a>and create interactive <a href=\"http:\/\/hyperdocs.co\" style=\"outline: none;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HyperDocs<\/a> filled with paired texts, engaging media and interactive activities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Back in 2015, Heather shared her Novel HyperDoc for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ditchthattextbook.com\/?p=14347&amp;preview=true#tab-con-26\" style=\"outline: none;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The One and Only Ivan<\/a> which she created for her middle school English students. She shared this amazing resource for free through Twitter using the hashtag #TsGiveTs which promotes and supports teachers sharing resources with one another for free. Since then many others, including myself, have created and shared novel HyperDocs to use with grades ranging from 2-12. Like Heather&#8217;s these units are completely free and filled with tons of resources to guide you and your students through a literary journey.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"tab-con-10\">The &nbsp;novel HyperDoc ripple effect.<\/h4>\n<p>The best thing about the HyperDoc community is that they not only share their resources for free but they also encourage others to take their work and reimagine it to create something new. As you look at the novel HyperDocs below you will notice that most have a page at the end where they credit the original creators of the HyperDoc they modified. Many have also used this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/u\/1\/d\/15mzJK_CCksGSNsGHlwtIz7gS4SMmYBs12aBBwcwpQ2g\/template\/preview\" style=\"outline: none;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">novel HyperDoc template <\/a>that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SEANJFAHEY\" style=\"outline: none;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sean Fahey<\/a>, &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/michelewagg\" style=\"outline: none;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michele Waggoner<\/a> and I created and shared as the foundation for their own novel HyperDoc.
