Challenge
Jörgen Dance wanted to bring their Virtual Dance Studio (VDS) content directly onto their main website to create a more seamless and cohesive user experience. Previously, the VDS was hosted on a separate platform, which made content management more complex and created a fragmented experience for visitors. Users had to leave the main Jörgen Dance site to access virtual classes, which not only disrupted the user journey but also reduced engagement and site retention.
By integrating the Virtual Dance Studio into the main website, Jörgen Dance aimed to:
-
Centralize content management
Making it easier for staff to update classes, videos, and member resources from one place.
-
Improve the user experience
By keeping visitors on the main site and providing smoother navigation between information about performances, classes, and online content.
-
Strengthen the brand presence
Ensuring that all digital touchpoints—live performances, education programs, and virtual offerings—exist within the same visual and technical ecosystem.
-
Increase engagement and retention
As users would no longer need to switch platforms, log in multiple times, or deal with inconsistent interfaces.
Action:
The integration involved building a new section of the website to accommodate video content, secure member areas, and subscription management tools, ensuring that the new system was both easy to maintain for the team and intuitive to use for the audience.
Discotoast began by thoroughly documenting all videos and content from the legacy Virtual Dance Studio platform, ensuring nothing was lost in the transition. From there, we developed a strategy to seamlessly integrate this material into the new website — including both free and paid content that required user sign-up for access.
To support this, we implemented our Media Restriction module, which gives the client full control over which videos and posts are available publicly and which are reserved for paid members. We also restructured the video library by creating custom categories and curated collections, making it easier for users to explore and discover content. Additionally, we integrated a “Favorites” system, allowing users to save and quickly return to their preferred videos for a more personalized experience.
Result:
Jörgen Dance has now fully transitioned from their legacy platform, with all Virtual Dance Studio content seamlessly housed on one easy-to-manage site!
