Hi guys, I've had an advent mp8 camera for about 6 months now and up until last month it was brilliant. Then it suddenly started freezing on me and losing all my pictures, it got to the point where it wouldn't turn off or take any pictures. I took it back to the shop and got an exchange and now the same thing is happening again, and now the few pictures I have been able to take I can;t transfer to my pc coz that won't work either. Thing is is I remove my memory card it works fine. This is the same memory card I had with the last camera. Is it possible that this is causing my camera to play up? Have any of you got the same camera at all? its driving me insane, I was my camera back!

Question about megapixels...

I have a Kodak Z740, and I use it for the simple things in life, like pictures of family and friends, my cats, various objects around the house. I don't get technical or "artsy" with it. But, it is a 5.0 megapixel, and it has the option of taking pictures in smaller pixel sizes. I can take the pics in 5.0 megapixel, 4.4 MP, 4.0 MP, 3.1 MP and 1.8 MP.

My question is this. The majority of pictures that I take I either crop in photoshop to send via email, or just crop them to a smaller size so I can print them out as 4x6 pics on the Kodak photo center machine at my nearest CVS or Walgreens.

So, if I use a smaller MegaPixel setting when I take pictures, like a 1.8 or 3.1 MP, am I ruining the quality of the picture by using less MP's??? I guess another good question, (since I don't know...what exactly do megapixels do for a camera/pictures?

Any info/advice would be very much appreciated. Gracias.

hello. I'm new here. my name is Sam.
I'm a photojournalist for local music zines and papers here. I'm in three different photo classes. I take over 100 pictures a day, each day. the camera I have right now is Nikon coolpix 5600. it's 5.1 mp, 3x zoom, and Red-Eye fix. however, this isn't my camera, it is my mother's, and she isn't one for photography. I am looking to buy an SLR/Proffessional camera. I would like at least 7 mp. I want to be able to get a memory card for the camera, to where I don't have to change cards, or empty cards every few hours or something, you know? I travel a lot, and don't have that option a lot of the time, which stinks; because I only have to memory cards for my mother's camera, and that often isn't enough for what I do. in addition to traveling [which is all over the world], my photo classes [all three, soon to be six, of them], and my photojournalist-ing [I go to TONS of concerts/shows, and much of the pictures I take at these get published in music journals/papers/zines here]; I spend a lot of time with people, and I like to document my days with pictures, I keep journals/scrapbooks with all the pictures I take. I have been looking at cameras for a few weeks now, asking people for advice and such. so far; on ebay at least; there are three cameras I am looking at. ONE, TWO, and THREE.
I was wondering if maybe I could get more advice, evaluations of those cameras, and maybe tips and such; I'm in need of a camera to not only be able to call my own, but to be able to do what I want/need it to; and I would like it by the end of July, as I'll be adding three more [advanced]photo classes to my routine, then.

please help me. let me know anything. criticism, advice, evaluations, questions, tips, hints, links; anything.
and thankyou.
:)
SAM

I have always been a Kodak fan. I know, I know, there are tons of cameras better than Kodak's, but the ol' trusty Kodak cameras just seem to fit me and my style so well. You see, I'm just a casual "recreational" picture-taker, an amateur who takes pictures mostly of stuff around the house, family members, my cats, and outside stuff like baseball games and stuff like that. Nothing fancy, nothing too professional. I'm very practical.

Anyway, I think I've had my Kodak DC3400 long enough, and I want to upgrade. If anyone knows of a good solid Kodak digital camera that has received good professional reviews for its' price range, please let me know. Oh, I'm looking for the $175-$225 price range.

Any and all help/opinions/advice would be very much appreciated by me. I would be very grateful in any help in making the right decision.

Here are the Kodak digital cameras in my price range that I'm looking into. If anyone has any input or opinions, or have heard anything on these, please let me know. Thanks!

Kodak Z740
Kodak C533
Kodak C643

Hello. I'm looking for a non-professional camera for indoor and outdoor use. What I need from the camera is good picture quality in auto mode and ease of use. I am choosing between Canon A95 and Canon A520. I heard that A95 provides a better picture but somewhat bulky. Is that true? Could you help me to make the choice? Thank you
