Goodness, it's been a long while since I've been on here. Do you know it took me a good seven seconds to figure out how to even make a new post? Well, I am also quite tired and it is rather late. But still. I don't even reconize this place.

I came to this journal to find my old Padfoot and Moony fanfic recs from my memories. I miss Wolfstar so much. ;A; I read through all of the ones that I have saved and now I want more but I have no idea which authors are good and I hate. Hate. looking for new fics because I have to endure so many horrendous ones to find that one gem.

:/

And when I saw "all of my time," I literally mean all of my time. As in, 24 hours a day. Anyway, I started this last summer and had to hold off during school and when I finished the semester I was DETERMINED to have it up before school started again.

I am so happy with it. I capped and edited every single screen cap, cleaned all of the black and white manga scans, touched up the coloring to old anime adverts, put together panoramic shots from the anime... and that is just for some of the galleries! I also wrote essays (lol. i cannot shake that academic obsession), there is a multimedia section that has episode downloads, music (bgsm, songs and MIDIS! :D) and... a lot more. lol. I am too tired.

But ohmygosh, the most awesome news -- my FAVORITE Sailor Moon site, the one that I have always admired for years, Serenitatis.com has agreed to be my affiliate! And she asked me to be her affiliate to her other two sites. I. DIED.

Anyway, enough rambling for now. Go visit!

art, the woes of being an unofficial curator and pr dummy

So, my friend and MFA mate Dong Hee and I are curators for this small gallery space that we are now using as a place for our MFA group shows. In addition to being a graduate assistant/secretary and MFA student working on her thesis project, I am now a curator, pr writer and organizer. O.o

I spent all of yesterday making a flyer and postcards. Now I may be an artist but I have never designed adverts and so I spent hours looking up galleries and artists' websites to find examples of how I should go about it. I knew what I wanted in my head but I needed details and specifics of where info should go, etc. Anyway, I am not going to get into what a pain it is dealing with 10 different artists who never read their emails or deadlines or instructions. I am just going to post the images because I am tired of hearing complaints. lol. And I am sure that you guys will be nicer. XD

Pardon the fact that I erased our last names. I am not comfortable giving out my full identity. :P

<lj:music>In this Shirt by the Irrepressibles</lj:music>

Hi guys,

I am in good spirits so I thought I'd quickly post before things go south again. :P

Just a few more days until my show. I am working like a mad woman. I'm not gonna lie, the main reason why I am in a mini high is because I spoke with Brandon today and for the first time I did not walk away with the feeling of wanting to bury myself into the ground. lol. We are talking in regular conversations now, although I still get really nervous around him.

Yesterday was a bad day and I ate of bunch chips and then popcorn and I was so antsy and craving food like a beast because I have my period and I literally wanted to eat everything. lol. So I did really bad yesterday but then I threw up in the shower and although I know my body had already absorbed the calories, I just needed to have an empty feeling stomach. Today I had a cup of 100cal yoplait and a granola bar -- my usual diet and of course a cup of coffee. Heh. But I feel better.

I am in a mini rush even though it is 930pm and I am exhausted and have been going all day. And it is rather pathetic but I was going to set up my show on monday but I can't because the school is closed. Brandon's show is up now and he said that he was going to take down on Sunday and if I wanted I could come and set up while he is there. Which would eliminate a day's worth of MUCH needed work but my pathetic self was like 'a moment with brandon omgyes!' and now I am rushing like a beast to finish everything as FAST as possible. lol. It's awesome because I might actually mostly finish a piece TONIGHT when I didn't plan on finishing it til saturday. XD This is the best kick in the pants ever.

Anyway, here is a sneak peak/detail shot of one of my finished pieces.

And just to let you know, Mujihi na Anata chapters 1&2 have been scanlated and are uploaded here.

But right now I want to tell you about something exciting. I have joined a brand new Sailor Moon forum. We have wonderful conversations and games and sharing of images -- I am in heaven. ^^

And for those who know me -- I love to write. I of course said yes. :P So this is what I have been working on for the past week. All I can say is that hair almost gave me a mental breakdown. Technically it is not finished -- I told the girl I'd give the figure an eye, which she asked for, but for my own personal preference, I like the empty look. So I took a few pictures before finishing it for her.

I really hope she goes ahead and gets the tat. That would be freaking awesome. O.o
(i'll be perfectly honest though -- i hate this piece. i love the techniques i used but subject matter wise -- drawing pretty perfect girls is not my thing. i'd rather make her ugly somehow. meh.)

    <lj:music>Better by Regina Spektor</lj:music>

Just a short post to say that I have finally updated my extensive Sakuraga Mei post here. It finally includes all of her works, raws, scanlations and blcd's included.

Kare ja nai Kedo is included, PLUS ITS FIRST CHAPTER SCANLATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is so incredibly awesome. It is not being scanlated by Parallels but an individual who does amazing quality. I am insanely excited.

I've also included some japanese raws of manga that I have never seen before, in excellent quality, so that is nice. I just wish some one would translate them. -sigh-

I have also re-read Mujihi na Otoko twice and I love it so much. I went through an odd up-and-down with that. I loved it while it was coming out, then when I read it in its completion I was disappointed with it. Then after reading it again, I truly do love it. I think Nanao's character is so beautifully fragile. But what seperates him from the typical "fragile uke" is that he does not act that way. He smiles most of the time and will not show his pain to others, but since the manga is written from mostly his pov, you can see how pained and lonely he is during his alone times. It's really beautiful.

And Kuon is actually a rough seme. Usually Sakuraga Mei's semes are possesive and the like but in general are still gentle beneath it all. Kuon's really not. And he doesn't try to hide it either. He likes to bite a lot and it's pretty ... hot. Yah.

Oh yeah, I included several extras to Mujihi na Otoko as well. They need to be scanlated!!!!

    <lj:music>Trouble Is A Friend by Lenka</lj:music>

Oi, oi, it's been a while! Gomen ne. So for the past week I have been sick, which was a rather gross experience. I still have an ungodly amount of mucus in my nose but I at least feel like a human being again. I don't know why but I always get these f*cked up twilight zone dreams when I am sick. I specifically did not take any medication of any kind to prevent those weird dreams but I got them anyway! Why???

I have officially become obsessed with Seikai-iichi Hatsukoi, to the point that I have fallen for Junjo Romantica too! I can't believe it. I don't know what is wrong with me. I have always been a proclaiming hater of that series but I just got sucked into it and I am going out to buy the manga. -cries- What is wrong with me? I watched the whole season 1 in two nights. -sigh- I am going to start the second season tonight. Now I will be honest, I think Nakamura has too many couples. I am the kind of person who gets invested in a romantic couple so I can't mentally handle separating myself into multiple couples. So aside from Usagi-san and Misaki, I can't properly focus on the other two. It makes my eyes spin like this: @_@.

I love Usagi-san so, so much. I think he is so endearing. That whole innocent, child-like quality just makes me melt and instantly fall for him. Gyah. And he's so smexy too, which of course makes things fantastic. His seiyuu is gyuhh, geesh. So between him and Takano, I'm just about shot. lol. It's wonderful.

Also, because I am better I can finally hold baby Gabriel again! Gyahhhh, I haven't held him all week and I have missed him. I am a very doting Auntie here and being separated from him for seven days .. . O.o. He gained weight! He is now 7lbs and is getting CHUBBY! Oh my gosh, just when I thought the cuteness could not get any greater, he made me lose my mind. I can't stop looking at him and dying from the squee. -collapses-

Finally a picture with me holding baby Gabriel! I asked my mom specifically to make sure my face wasn't showing. lol. This was from about two weeks ago. And the second is from today! Isn't he adorable?!?!?!?! Look at those healthy cheeks! Preemie no more! :D

And this is the state of my life. Yaoi deliciousness invading my phone. -sigh- That scene between Mikado and Nanao was just too much. I love the dynamic between these two. I don't know how Mikado hasn't put Nanao up for adoption yet. XD And look at delicious Usagi-san as my wallpaper! Gyuhhh. The pic of Takano and Onodera was my previous wallpaper.

I realize that I may be losing my mind, but that's what cabin fever does to you. Two weeks out of school and I already am going stir crazy. I hate the summer. -_- I have random photos and art pictures to post later. Warning for a very soon bombardment of photos. orz.

Ok, so I am in desperate need of assistence from you guys. I have been really getting back into Sailor Moon lately: I found this gorgeous fanartist who is amazing, been re-watching the anime in its original japanese and re-reading the manga ... basically, I am dying for Usagi & Mamoru fanfiction. I am trying to read more because I want to get back into writing myself and really, I just want to read fanfics about Usagi & Mamoru. I do not know of any sites so I succumbed to going to the Horrors of All Horrors, fanfiction.net. Now I know that I am an elitest when it comes to writing but really, that place is Satan's Spawn of 12-year-old Writers. I know that there are good writers out there but they are like one among a thousand and I just can'bring myself the toture of going through all the bad stories. Anyway, I was desperate last night.

Let me tell you right now that I spent the majority of my (wasted) 3 hours in a flaberghasted state. People. Cannot. Write. Why????? I'm not saying that you have to be perfect or brilliant but there comes a point when people should just NOT BE ALLOWED TO POST. I have compiled a list pet peeves that nearly just sent me over the edge.

EDITOR!!!! I realize we have typos here and there no matter how much you look over your work but there are THINGS you should NOTICE. I.E: saying "I lobe you" during a very critical point; SPELL CHECK, your-you're/they're-their; and I'll just stop there. You get the point. Don't write like an individual who never graduated high school.

"Usagi-chan" by Mamoru. Ok, maybe you didn't watch the subbed anime but Mamoru NEVER CALLS USAGI 'USAGI-CHAN." It's either "Usagi" or Usako-Usa. -shoots self-

Usagi looked over at Mamo-chan. Again. "Mamo-chan" is not his name, it's Usagi's nickname for him, you are an author you cannot refer to his character by his pet name.

When there are side characters with names like Jessica Bentley or Joshua Adams. Even if you are going by the dubbed names (gag!), they live in fucking Tokyo or did I miss something? Chances are, they are going to have friends with Japanese names, not random American names you pulled out of a romance novel.

Moon Kingdom fics that portray Princess Serenity as a hard-headed sassy princess. Now, I may be debated on this one. But I really think this goes against her character. Usagi can be feisty and Sailor Moon is strong but I always got the impression of Princess Serenity being delicate. I think because of the peace within the Moon Kingdom, and Queen Serenity holding the weight of the universe upon herself, Serenity was more of an innocent. Not a damsel in distress, but I really get turned off when writers portray her as a haughty girl of royalty.

When Usagi is portrayed as a bitch. Again, yes, she is a spirited girl and feisty but Usagi was never mean spirited. Yes, she got into a lot of spats with Mamoru in the anime but they were never delivered out of cruelty. That's just a turn off to me.

He looked at my creamy white flesh hungrily. Do you really look at yourself so highly that you think you have "creamy white flesh?" O.o

Crystal blue orbs, midnight blue eyes, Mamoru gazed at his princess or just about any of the rest of the Sailor Moon Stereotypical Phrases.

People who use the American names. I realize that's biased but really. -_- If your story is crap, you have no redemption.

You notice how Princess Serenity always tends to be married off to a heartless bastard of a King? Which, is fine and all I guess, but why is that abusive King always a one-dimensional character with no name? And how the hell is Mamoru a stable boy? How can you even use that term when Mamoru is a man?

When Serena works at a talent agency in New York and Darien is a model or Serena is a divorced single mother and Darien is her handsome neighbor or they've grown up together since they were kids or just about every other AU fic out there in which their characters are COMPLETELY twisted and morphed into original characters. Why don't you just change the names and write your own damn story?

Ugh, I have to stop, sorry. But seriously. Really? I don't know, is there any help for me at all? I know I am biased and all but there has to be at least one good author out there? I have always been able to find one or two incredible authors in every one of my fandoms. I remember these two amazing authors from Loveless, one from Kenshin, one from Samurai Champloo ... I really lucked out for SiriusxRemus with the Shoebox Project and Setissma ... but ohmygosh, I swear, the Sailor Moon fandom has the WORST EVER. It's like fandom suicide or something. O.o

I doodled today! I never doodle. I can't doodle. But after spending hours drawing faces and going blind I needed something non-techinical. I can't draw manga (most depressing thing ever) because its style is everything I am not. I like to draw organic lines or in a sketchy style or soft shading. Manga is the complete opposite: straight and angular and clean lines. I just can't do it no matter what! So frustrating. Anyway, I just played around and I am actually REALLY happy with how my fellow turned out (the upper right corner). Basically I was falling in love with my new mechanical pencil. lol.

Anyway, this is the first time I have enjoyed making art all semester. These silly doodles have actually excited me and inspired me. Which is ABOUT TIME considering that I my mid-term crit is next week and I have not made a single piece of completed art or art that I have liked.

I am going to be crucified.

BUT. Manga doodle yayness right now. :)

Lately I have been enthralled with the pencil and can't get into doing my pen drawings. This one, as per usual, mutated into something else. I like the "tear" qualities of him. For some reason I can never do complete faces. XD I don't know what's wrong with me, I just like doing fragments.

p.s. does anyone have godfinger?
