// Rules //
⇒ Act Respectful ▪ Please treat everyone respectfully. You may not get along with everyone all the time, or agree with them, but you're all here for the same reason; to have fun playing these characters in pretendy fun-time games. Let's make it an enjoyable experience for everyone! If, however, a problem comes up that can not be solved by the players or is ignored, please bring it to one of the mods. We aren't on constantly, but you can always send an email to chrestomathicmods@gmail.com, or check the Contact post if you wish to speak to one of us one-on-one. ⇒ Communicate ▪ It might seem odd, but this is extremely important. Talking outside of the game with people you interact with often can change things drastically, even if it's only every once in a while. It's important to be honest, so if a problem arises please try to talk it out, if possible. There's no need to harass players, though -- IMing them endlessly can get annoying, but while threading or to explain your character's behavior it's heavily encouraged. ⇒ No godmodding/powergaming/metagaming ▪ Don't do it. If you aren't sure what some of these terms mean, here is a handy dictionary of role playing terms. Godmodding takes a lot out of the fun of playing with others, and is incredibly disrespectful. There will be consequences for those caught doing so, or anything else that takes away from people's experiences. Of course, if you've asked a player beforehand for their approval, or they have specifically told you that their character would move this way or say that or feel this, then it's fine. ⇒ Stay In-character ▪ Just because this is an AU roleplaying game, it doesn't give you an excuse to play Kiba as prissy little girl, for example. Please keep in mind that you want to play the character that was originally presented to you by Masashi Kishimoto. Playing an AU can be difficult, as the goal is to keep characters as IC as possible while having them have lived an entirely different life. We are aware that being IC is also a hard level to reach, as, technically, only Masashi Kishimoto himself can do so. However we expect them to be recognizable. We also know character development happens, which is definitely encouraged and can also definitely change a character. Players that are entirely out of character will be dealt with on a case-by-case with the mods, and e-mailing us should be kept for emergencies or real problems we seem to have missed. Talking to the player first is always a good idea, but of course, try to do so in a positive way and to stay respectful. ⇒ IC=/=OOC ▪ Don't take what's said in-character personally. There will be characters that are utter jerks, but that doesn't mean that their player is one. So just keep this in mind. ♥ It makes it easier for everyone, really. ⇒ Stay active ▪ Activity checks will be once a month. About a week (more or less) prior to the AC, there will be a mod reminder, though after that post activity will not count toward the Activity Check. So in reality, you're getting more than three weeks to be active. More on this here. This rule is subject to change if it shows that too much time is being allowed between Activity checks, or regarding how the game flows/what players seem to prefer. ⇒ Character limit is 2 ▪ This is to give others a chance to play characters, and to limit the amount of playercest. While playercest isn't necessarily breaking the rules, the mods aren't fond of it. It's way more fun to allow others to play characters and to have even more people to interact with than only having a handful of people playing everyone in Naruto's cast of characters. If you are considering a second character, please talk to the mods first. ⇒ Have fun! ▪ It's why we're all here! ♥! Have fun playing the characters in the environment they're in, creating their past and futures here at Chrestomathic. :3 |
