Dictionary Application

Learning a second language is always a good thing since it opens many opportunities for knowing new people and places, and even to advance at work.

This little utility helps you to do so. It includes the Cambridge English dictionary with all its words an their Czech equivalents. Thus, you can learn a comprehensive vocabulary in both languages. Another interesting feature of this program is a Detailed view, which allows you to check any of the words in a separate window that presents its translation to the other language, its pronunciation (in some cases) and a remark for making it easier to remember the translation when using the Test mode. This last mode features the same window but only featuring the Czech word so you can type the English translation in the blank space. If your answer is correct, the program will go automatically to the next word; if not, a dialog box would appear showing the correct answer. Another very useful feature is the fact that you can create your own dictionaries. The program lets you create a new dictionary file that you can edit easily by adding your own word lists, their translation to another language, their pronunciation and so on. Besides all its advantages, this little program is absolutely free and worth to try.
