Zilix

The ability to contribute to codebases should not be limited to people with computers. Zilix is a mobile platform that allows users to contribute to personal / team repositories directly on the phone.

Inspiration

The ability to contribute code to a team repository should not be limited to only those with a laptop. One of our members kept going to the bathroom at this event, keeping him away from his laptop

What it does

A mobile IDE that bridges the gap between github mobile and an IDE to allow users to contribute to any codebase.

How we built it

We used Claude to help harden our initial design plan, providing feedback on our initial infrastructure and allowing us to speed up the development process. We utilized Reconstruct heavily to divide our tasks accordingly among 3 people and completely remove the risk of context poisoning.

Challenges we ran into

Surprisingly, even when the 3 of us were coding simultaneously and committing changes for 2 hours straight, we didn't run into any merge conflicts due to the planning and team organization of Reconstruct.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to run the project on our phone and push code to the repository that allowed us to code on your phone in the first place.

What we learned

We learned what a daemon is. It is a type of background computer process and a specific disk imaging application.

What's next for Zilix

Fully publish this as an app that works flawlessly and with all the desired integrations.
