Inspiration

Travel booking and management is a tedious task. First, you have to search different sites for the best prices, seats and durations, then spend time on journey day to book cabs. Then Manage different receipts, tickets, etc on the mail or some storage. These things are problematic and we are trying to make this process hassle-free So that you can focus on the important part, your "journey" . We are Onestop !! One app to route them all.

What it does

Onestop makes your pre-travel experience easier and hassle-free. It allows you to book and manage your entire long or short trip all in one place. You only have to enter the destination where you want to go and it takes care of the rest. It shows you all the viable travel options from cheapest to luxurious or from air travel to train. Then it schedules the trip and books the cab rides to and from the airport/railway station. You can organize your trip and customize it to your needs.

How we built it

We built it as a mobile application, using

  • React Native: frontend
  • Go: Backend
  • MySql: Database
  • GCloud: Geolocation and GeoCoding
  • Tequila Kiwi API: Airlines data api

Challenges we ran into

  • As web developers, this is the first time we tried mobile development on this scale. So it was a bit challenging.
  • We also build the API using Go and the trip management part was a bit complex on the database

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • First, that we finished and submitted the project in time
  • Second, We developed a complex mobile application
  • Third, We designed a challenging API in Go

What we learned

  • We learned how UI/UX and navigation work in mobile apps
  • We learned how to add and customize google maps in applications
  • We learned Golang and react native as new technologies

What's next for OneStop

  • Next step is to find investors
  • Add support for international travel
  • Business Suite: Add admin controls so that organizations can manage trips of their employees, clients etc all in one place
  • Add more travel modes like ships, boats, private jets, etc.
