Inspiration
My main inspiration was from common tropes I'd find in stories written and published in Wattpad. I wanted to take a sort of satirical take on these tropes.
What it does
The user gets to play a choose your adventure game as "Y/N" as they pick choices to navigate having to be a student at a new school.
How I built it
I used Rep.lit as my IDE. The languages I used for the game were HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges I ran into
- Making sure the buttons were able to move to the right pages
- Exploring user input for the first time.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- implementing user input into the text
- having parts of the story appear and disappear based on what would be clicked
- picking out a color scheme I liked.
What I learned
- how to construct objects in JS
- how to use CSS in order to make elements appear and disappear
What's next for Yielding/New
- Making Y/N gender neutral
- Adding more endings
- Adding more storylines for Y/N
