What it does

projecto is a unique platform that provides a marketplace for organizations and students to connect with each other to deliver projects. projecto is an extremely versatile startup SaaS solution that can also be white-labelled and extended to additional use-cases. In the demoed workflow, projecto connected local health institutes in Windsor-Essex with undergrad students from nearby universities.

How I built it

projecto's backend HTTP API was developed restfully with TypeScript, Fastify and PostgreSQL. Its frontend was developed with React, NextJS, Framer Motion and TailwindCSS. The entire project was designed, developed and released in under 24 hours during WinHacks 2022. All source code is available in a monorepo on GitHub.

Challenges I ran into

This was a relatively large project that I had to accomplish by myself in a short span of time. My main challenge throughout the hackathon was tackling the provided time constraint and pushing as many features as possible while retaining the quality, seamlessness and user experience that is seen in the final product.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm extremely proud of the final demo video, the intuitiveness of the end product and the hard work and time I was able to invest into this project. Additionally, this project can be extended into multiple use-cases that can help connect producers and consumers.

What I learned

I learned how to effectively manage and schedule my time to produce the best possible product I could in a short span of time. Additionally, I learned how to create a persona-based design and develop my customer journey around that.

What's next for projecto

projecto can be enhanced with dozens of new features that would prove it to be an effective product that could fuel a startup. Its various use-cases are endless and can be really beneficial to institutions around the world. Some short-term features I would love to see implemented:

• Analytics & statistics for administrators
• Notification system and cross-device compatibility
• Refining project lists by filtering by skills, tasks and affiliates
• AI-based recommendation system to select the right vendors
