Inspiration
It all started back when I got to know Dogecoin in 9gag, after I saw that a lot of people got rich with this cryptocurrency I started to gain interest in this technology.
I began following people and content creators that worked in the web3 ecosystem, and I got stuck with one goal from all the advice they gave or tweeted, that was, to build something with actual utility, something that actually helps the world.
So the idea began, wanted to build a DEX at first, kinda like Uniswap, or Sushiswap, where people could exchange their crypto assets. Then it evolved to a CBDC’s DEX, but it was until later that I realized we have been building a Cross-Border Payments Gateway all the time.
All this motivation I believe came from wanting to solve social problems and pain points that I’ve encountered in my life, as I grew up on the border of Mexico and the US.
I personally want to be remembered as a pioneer in blockchain technology in my country, it feels good to build something useful, I feel like I'm working for something that I love. This kept me going these years, and I think it will last much longer, being an entrepreneur has been most of my life.
What it does
This platform transfer money in 3.004 seconds with only $0.00423 dlls transaction fee + flat fee. With every transaction, the platform mints a unique QR code NFT, and users can check the transaction time, notes, and amount by scanning their QR code.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges I faced while building my platform was running out of money. As a startup/project, we are working on a tight budget, we had to carefully manage our finances in order to keep the project moving forward. This was particularly challenging because we are working on the platform by ourselves and all of the money comes from out of pocket.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have spent countless hours researching, designing, and coding our platform, and we are proud to have created a product that is functional, user-friendly, and tested in the test net. Our MVP is a fully functional platform for transferring money across borders, and it includes all of the core features and functionality that we set out to develop. We have worked hard to create a product that is fast, affordable, and easy to use, and we are confident that it will provide significant value to our users.
What we learned
XRP is continuously running nonstop, making it trustworthy. Working with teammates in 3 different countries can be a challenge sometimes, but doing your own research gets easier.
What's next for CrossPay
Next is trying to help an NFT Marketplace make cross-border payments, making a bridge with the XLS 30 I imagine.
