Ever wanted to find a recipe from a new part of the world? Well now you can with our amazing website. You can pick a random place and boom here's a recipe with instructions and ingredients

Inspiration

Our inspiration was about how food is one of the biggest components of culture and one that is the most proudly shared. For our project we decided to create a platform where people can explore recipes from around the world.

What it does

It allows users to move around an interactive map and click on different markers representing different

How we built it

We built it based on React TypeScript and MongoDB using Intellijs code share feature.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some time issues as all three members of our team were not able to make it the whole time due to scheduling conflicts and some illnesses. Also connecting databases to React code sucks and takes longer than an hour.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Created a fully working map that when you hover over a country it changes color, we also have markers based on JSON data and built a database with our recipes

What we learned

We learned alot about database management and React development. We also taught each other a lot about our different specialties in coding

What's next for World Recipes

We want to make the Database actually talk to our website, integrate different recipe pages, and work a lot on code cleanup and general ui/ux
