Inspiration

We have been inspired by Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory and what they do to help people. We wanted to create a web solution for major features like Donation, Subscription and Events using platform Wix so people from Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory would be able to continue work on their website with minimal code knowledge. Most of the actions admin can do without code by dragging and dropping modules.

What it does

It can deploy to production, manage content, add extra modules and functionality. It can send emails, accept donations and post upcoming events.

How we built it

We used Wix platform and also created documentation so our customers will be able to move forward and being stuck.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into multiple issues during our process: 1) We couldn't figure out the whole approach for pretty long time. We initially thought to start from the scratch and use express.js and vue.js for full stack development, but that approach would be less comfortable to manage in future. After that we decided to go with WordPress and at some point decide to go with Wix. 2) Multiple issues with modules, especially with email notifications. 3) Donation management

Accomplishments that we're proud of

1) Really good UI with added content from original website and existing logo and photos 2) Basic functionality requested by customer has been implemented like donations, notifications and events

What we learned

1) We learned a lot about trade-offs and critical thinking in short time. 2) Sometimes you need to sacrifice something to deliver really quick. 3) We have learned to work under pressure.
