Inspiration
We aimed to create a world that is both fun and cozy for people to hang out and play around in. An experience that can bring friends together (or pit them against one another) in a wonderful animated environment full of nooks and crannies to explore. We sought inspiration from many classic 3D platformers of the past, that we ourselves enjoyed playing growing up.
What it does
In Winter Wonderbash you find yourself in a frozen and magical circular arena, where you complete various platforming quests. Explore a frosty, moving world and try your best to best your friends.
How we built it
Four friends with different skill sets, joined up to take on the challenge! By applying our shared knowledge, while also learning many new things in the Horizon Worlds Desktop Editor, we created Winter Wonderbash in 9 days.
Challenges we ran into
Due to the nature of using a new engine, we had to adjust and pivot multiple times in order to make the world within the given time span.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
With just 9 days of development time, we are proud that we managed to adapt quickly and get the world and functionality up and running.
What we learned
We learned how to utilize the Horizon World Editor for the first time, in order to create Winter WonderBash for the event. With the new engine, we had to learn how to navigate, import, design, and code to achieve a functioning game.
What's next for Winter WonderBash
Share it with the world and let people enjoy its chill aesthetics!
