Our Inspiration: As women in STEM and college students, we are familiar with the stresses that come with life. Drawing inspiration from the serene and peaceful scenes of capybara onsens in Japan, where lazy capybaras soak in hot springs during winter, surrounded by drifting oranges, we found a deep connection to the concept of tranquility. The capybara, embodying a sense of calm and relaxation, became a symbol for our project's focus on mental health and promoting overall wellness. Our project reflects not just a technical endeavor but a heartfelt mission to encourage mindfulness, stress reduction, and emotional well-being. Just as the capybaras find solace in their peaceful retreats, we aspire to create digital spaces that foster a similar sense of calmness and rejuvenation for individuals navigating the challenges of modern life.
What we Learned: In just 36 hours, we've delved into coding across various programming languages like CSS, JavaScript, and HTML. Mastering these fundamental languages has given us hands-on experience in user interface (UI) and user design for our website project. Despite being novice hackers, we've also tackled the intricacies of using databases and seamlessly integrating them into our repositories and directories.
The Challenges we faced: We encountered significant challenges primarily related to getting our code to function properly. Experimenting with different functions while incorporating our creative ideas led to some confusion and initial difficulty in starting the code. However, despite these hurdles, we persevered and pushed through. Our first-time exposure to databases and their usage brought about several issues, particularly in integrating them into HTML and CSS. Yet, with perseverance and hard work, we successfully managed to integrate them.
