Inspiration As a team, we were inspired by the holiday classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We wanted to create a magical, interactive Whoville world in Meta Horizons where players could enjoy the spirit of Christmas while outsmarting the Grinch.
What We Learned
This project taught us teamwork, immersive world-building, and the importance of balancing challenge and fun in game design. We also learned how to optimize environments and mechanics for a smooth player experience.
How We Built It
Planning: Brainstormed the storyline and gameplay, dividing tasks for world design, mechanics, and testing.
Design: Built Whoville with landmarks, festive decorations, and hidden spots for gifts.
Gameplay: Implemented mechanics for finding the Grinch, collecting gifts, and returning them.
Testing: Playtested and refined based on feedback.
Challenges
We faced challenges in balancing gameplay difficulty, maintaining design consistency, and troubleshooting technical issues, but teamwork helped us overcome them.
