Inspiration (Explanation of why you suggested it)
During some of my Hackathon experience, there were some team members that sadly could not make it in-person. However, they wanted to still contribute to the rest of the team. It was a huge challenge trying to work in a hybrid situation due to communication and collaboration hinderances. It was also difficult to keep them up to date with all of our plans and ideas for the Hackathon.
What it does (and what problems it would solve)
Whiteboard is an all in one place tool. It is where brainstorming, communication, plans, and team role occur.
| Description | Feature | |
|---|---|---|
| Kanban + To-do's | The Kanban board is for visualizing work/tasks, limit work-in-progress, and maximize efficiency (or flow). There is also an agenda explaining the overview/goal for the day. | |
| Hackathon Requirement | It is nice to have the do's and don'ts on the same page of brainstorming. It helps to prevent missing any necessary submission in order to qualify for the hackathon. | |
| Group Chat | Great for connecting all team members (virtual and/or in-person). Team members would catch up on any updates/changes since all the tasks/plans are in the same place. | |
| Role Assignment | Visually shows who does what and helps split up tasks among everyone on the team. It is good at assigning members with a focus (avoid doing someone else's task or distractions). | |
| Idea Generator | Most Hackathons release a theme in which the project must correlate with. Sometimes, you need some help gathering ideas that matches the theme. The Idea Generator is a search engine that outputs a handful of keywords/ideas that corresponds to the user's input. | |
| Brainstorm + reference/doodle board | This section helps sort out ideas and allows team members to connect ideas or pick the most preferable/innovative/fun one. Users can post notes or paste images, colour palettes, design (UI/UX) , and references to share their ideas with others. If the team is indecisive on which route/idea to pick, members can vote with pins and deicide from there. |
How we built it
I used Figma to design this app/tool that would be helpful to those participating in an hackathon.
