Inspiration
I created Punch to help relieve stress and anxiety through a private, gentle space for emotional check-ins and journaling. The inspiration came from my own experience while looking for jobs. The process has been difficult and uncertain, and it often makes me feel stressed and anxious. In today’s job market, there are fewer opportunities and more competition, so I believe this kind of pressure is becoming more common for many people. That is why I wanted to build an app that offers a simple way to pause, reflect, and safely record thoughts and emotions. Punch allows users to check in with themselves, write freely, track how they feel over time, and export selected notes when they want to share them with a counselor or psychologist. My goal is to create a calm, privacy-first tool that helps people manage emotional pressure in a soft and accessible way.
What it does
Punch is a privacy-first emotional check-in and journaling app designed to help users manage stress and anxiety in a gentle and accessible way. Users can quickly score their day, write down their thoughts, note triggers, and save personal journal entries in a private space. The app also includes grounding support, a calendar view to revisit saved entries by date, and export functions so selected journals or check-ins can be shared with a counselor or psychologist when needed.
How we built it

Challenges we ran into
One major challenge I faced was translating an emotional need into a clear app structure. I knew I wanted the app to help with stress and anxiety, but it took time to decide which features were truly helpful and which ones made the app too complicated. Another challenge was balancing privacy, usability, and functionality. For example, I wanted users to store personal records safely while still being able to review them later in a meaningful way through the calendar and export functions. I also faced technical challenges in connecting different parts of the app, such as making journals and check-ins work properly with the calendar, editing records, and PDF export. These challenges taught me how important iteration is in product development, especially when building something meant to support people emotionally.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud that we built a privacy-first app that turns emotional stress into something users can reflect on safely and constructively. Punch brings together daily check-ins, journaling, grounding support, calendar tracking, and exportable records in a calm and accessible experience.
What's next for Wellbeing Momo
Next, we want to make Punch more personalized and insightful by improving progress tracking, calendar organization, and export features, while continuing to strengthen privacy and the overall user experience.
