Inspiration
To make metal weight calculations fast, precise, and accessible to engineers, fabricators, and hobbyists.
What it does
It computes the weight of various metal shapes/materials based on user inputs (dimensions, density, material).
How I built it
By programming the formulas for standard shapes and densities into a web interface so users input values and get results instantly.
Challenges I ran into
Handling different shapes and units, validating input, and ensuring the formulas are correct across all cases.
Accomplishments that I’m proud of
Delivering a reliable, easy-to-use calculator that reduces manual errors and speeds up design and quoting workflows.
What I learned
The importance of unit handling, UI clarity, and edge-case validation in engineering tools.
What’s next for Website APP
Adding more materials and shapes, unit conversion support, bulk calculations, and exporting results (CSV/PDF).
