As someone who has experienced the effects of Hurricane Sandy, and during a time that many people are being impacted by the constantly changing tides of global warming, I believe this site is the start in the right direction to a free, accessible source of information for these events, as well as general weather info There's tons of features I can see being implemented in the future that could actually really help those in need quickly.
We split this project into three different jobs, one for programming, one for design and one for resource collecting.
We made this application with the Leaflet Javascript library and used the OpenweatherAPI in order to fetch the information, and make it accessible through mobile support. It was originally tough to get these libraries to work, however persistence proved effective. This project helped all of us gain more experience with APIs and websites and overall was a really fun, interesting learning experience.
