Wave
The goal of this project was to connect music-heads all over the world in order to create good music. We noticed a lack of connection in the industry, and we worked to fix that today.
What is it
Wave is a website that allows artists and producers to link up and collaborate on projects. This is executed by allowing each member to upload a sample of their music to their profile, and select a genre of interest which will then display them a list of others who chose the same category. From the list, you can click on any profile, sample their music, and message them through the website which would be converted into email.
Challenges we Faced
We switched multiple times between Firebase and Passport, ultimately choosing Firebase for its nosql database service. Time was also a big challenge because we didn’t have enough time to implement all of the features that were meant to be apart of the site.
What's next for Wave
In the future, we plan to add more functionality by expanding our backend code and making it so that our users can add portfolios to their accounts for reference.
